It only took the first ten minutes for Regius to think that the pain that he was going through would drive him insane. It felt like every inch of his body was slowly being gnawed on by ants. Blood started to come from his pores before it hardened on his skin. Then it would break away and it would reveal a Regius unblemished and perfect, and then the process would start again.
The thing that made it worse was that the pain was different each time.Regius' body was reforged close to ten times before the entire process ended. The assimilation and subsequent evolution were both successes, and Regius had gone through a multitude of changes. His curly hair had gotten so long that instead of standing straight up, it had fallen over. Regius ran a hand through it and in the process channeled mana into his hands, which made his fingers like blades as he cut the hair away to slightly longer than its previous length.
