What people at the time could have never guessed was that after Regius left the next day, it would be a full ten years until he returned to the Ark. He would have gained a total of twenty soul points and reached a level of strength that others could not fathom. When he and Eve went out that day to find battles to improve themselves, it was revealed that the Ark had never truly left the web set by the Spider Queen on the day that the Ark escaped.
She had been tracking them the entire time and in the process she kept her forces away from the malignant tumor that she considered the Ark. She knew that inside the ship she would not be able to get to Regius, but the blood of her people had to be repaid and she could wait long enough for him to leave the arc. Regius was trapped by the spider queen while at the same time he realized that he had been tricked and she was not the supreme existence of the insectoid race, just one of many.
