Edelweiss had really placed his trust in the wrong people this time around. Regius would bet any amount of money that they made him so many promises for his future, hell Regius was willing to bet Zane told him he'd bring him back after he became champion and instead he was betrayed and eaten in a moment's notice. Zane had torn him limb from limb and swallowed the pieces. Regius did not see a way back from that.
Zane's mana began to surge, but he was smart enough to not try to break through in the middle of a fight. He started twisting his hands together and a purplish black energy began to gather in the center. All of a sudden he bit down on his tongue hard and dripped his own blood into the orb of mana before shifting to be in the exact spot that Edelweiss had been in before he dropped the orb onto the trident that had been left on the ground.
