"What?! He even failed the written test? How could he fail an opinion based test?"
The S ranks were in a room together. They sat at a long table and had a giant window behind them that showed a massive field through it. Sylvia had just asked about the progress of Daemon.
"Yes, that's right. It won't count against him, but it still a problem. Sylvia, are you sure Daemon's okay in all of this? You praised him, but he showing terrible results.."
Fire king sounded sincere about the situation. He knew that if Daemon failed, it could lead to him dropping out. It will lead him to dropping out actually, and he knows that Syvlia would be pissed by that.
'If he leaves, she'll be in a bad mood for the rest of the year. She might even leave the school, and I can't let that happen.'
That was the Fire Kings true intentions. When the Fire King saw the young beauty that risen up so fast in the hunter world, he wanted to wife her. He tried getting close to her but failed each and every single time.
Now that the two are teaching at the same school, he has an even better chance of getting close to her, but that is if Daemon's stays.
"Oh, he is. He's definitely okay. I was just shocked that he would fail this hard on the written and physical test. I'm pretty worried."
"The highest he ever scored was 10 points, no? And that was on your test right Sylvia?"
"Yes, that's right. After all the test hes taken, he only got a max score of 35 points."
Daemon took 6 test. For each test, 1 S rank hunter would watch over it. Daemon took the first test which was the Magic guager test. That was hosted by infinity. Daemon got a max of 5 points from that as he was barely able to show white.
After that, Lucifer was about to reveal himself in the corner of an hallway, but was stopped by a random teacher. There they went outside to take even more test.
One test was Ball throw. This was hosted by Phantom. Daemon threw the ball a couple of inches and earned himself 5 points.
The next test was standing long jump which was hostes by Dark Cloak. Daemon only got 5 points for this as well as he was barely able to get off the ground.
After that, he took the 50-meter dash test which was hosted by Fire king, earning him with another 5 points as there was a time limit and he went 5 minutes over that.
Grip test was next and Aquatic knight hosted that one. Daemon was barely able to even pull the grip as his veins were popping out, meaning that he was actually trying, but he still failed, earning himself with another 5 points.
What Daemon did next was accuracy where he got 10 points, making his total score 35 points.
"Guys, come on. We all know that he didn't try. We do see that right?"
Infinity spoke out with his legs stretched out on the table. He seemed relaxed as he stared at the ceiling with a huge grin.
"Hes...right. No matter how much it looked like he tried, the kid was obviously holding back. Why though?"
They all thought about what Phantom said. In this day and age, everyone wants to succeed. Hearing that someone was failing on purpose when they could easily pass made them think long and hard.
"We can't even convince him either. Hes not one of those students, and he definitely won't listen to us."
'One of those students' meant the students who could easily be persuaded into changing their ways.
"Why are we still worrying. He either drops out or fight, seeing how you need atleast 50 points to pass. If he wins a fight then that atleast puts him at 85 points right?"
If you win a fight, it's a guarantee pass. They did this so anyone could have a chance even it they magically managed to get 0 points in the end.
"Infinity is right. Sylvia, try and convince him to fight. He has to if he wants to stay."
The fire king looked at her and she looked away.
'Easier said then done..'
She sighed and got up, followed by Infinity.
"I don't need too. He knows the positions hes in."
She then shattered into ice and a small fog enveloped the room. This made the other S ranks get up and exit the room as Daemon was the only person they needed to speak about.
Every other person in the school passed.
....
"What...will you do?"
Daemon and Lucifer were sitting in the student section of a huge arena. It was built so every grade could be present and it did its job wonderfully. There was a huge dome around it, giving the students protection from the outside and inside.
In the middle was a huge, circle platform. That was used for fighting and other things.
"Maybe I'll call out a middle schooler. I don't know."
"That's harsh, you know. And you can only call out those in your grade or higher, so good luck."
Daemon stared at the small kids on the opposite side of him. One noticed his stare and started crying.
"Hey. Maybe I should fight you. Free points right?"
Lucifer stared out for a moment while pondering. 'Yeah, why not. He can just shove me or something..'
Lucifer smiled then looked at Daemon. Daemon then stopped looking at the crying child and at Lucifer.
"Sure. I don't see a problem."
Daemon slightly smiled at his words. Since Lucifer is well known, him taking a loss will probably hurt his reputation that others give him. What he was doing caused Darmon to realize how much of a good friend he was.
"Thank you Lucifer."
The two then stared out as some final preparations were being done. After about 10 minutes, the rank S's showed up on the stage. Sylvia was then handed a microphone and was put up on the huge screen that could be seen from any angle.
"Ladies and Gentlemen. My name is Sivler Ice. How is your first day of school so far?"
The crowd cheered out as I took one of Lucifers earphones out and listened. This time, he was listening to the artist that got shot in Florida back in 2018.
"Okay, okay. I'm glad to see everyone is having fun. That's what we thrive for hear at Magic High."
While the name had High in it, it was still for all grades. It just when you get to high school level, you really take off in your career.
Sylvia then passed the mic on to The Fire King, instanly making the hype go down by 50%.
"Students!! Nice to meet you all! I'm the Fire King!!"
I'm everyones eyes, his introduction sucked. Well because it actually did suck.
"We will be overseeing the matches that take place here today so no one will get hurt, okay?! Okay! Now without further ado, I shall pass the mic!"
He then passed it to Infinity who then smiled and waved. That was enough to raise the hype back up, livening the event.
"Yo. If we call your name, come down here. That will signify that someone's wants to fight you. There aren't that many matches like there was last year though. Anyways, if you have less than 50 points, it is required for you to fight okay? Okay."
After he said that, it felt like all eyes were on Daemon. He didn't notice this however as he was scrolling through Lucifers phone as they both were trying to find another song.
"Okay then. For our first match, would Jason Price and Luis Ramirez come down."
The crowd was cheering really loud, which caused Daemon to snicker. 'You people are too loud for a boring match that'll last 40 minutes.' Daemon shook his head while sighing.
The two people then came down. There wasn't anything noticable about them. Just regular Americans, so let your imagination run wild.
"So, the rules are no killing. Thats it."
The 6 then disappeared and reappeared in their own private stands. 'That's it? Just no killing? I guess...that's fine.'
The two stared at each other while bawling their fist. They seemed to have bad blood with each other as their thoughts were that of murderous.
"You...you took my porn mag!"
'Okay then. Wait, what?! Cover your ears children!"
The crowd was cheering, but when he said that, they all died down.
"I didn't take it baatard! I just borrowed it!"
Daemon was slightly confused about who was really in the wrong here. He was leaning towards the 2nd guy though.
"Is this really...what their fighting about?"
Lucifer looked at Daemon who only shrugged.
"Right? Like come on, the should just beat it together. Why watch it alone?"
Daemon nodded at his thoughts while Lucifer only stared. 'What a weirdo..' Lucifer slightly laughed at himself and went back to scrolling.
There was no count down. They could fight right now if they wanted to, but they decided to talk.
"And then...and then you dirtied the pages!"
"No I did not!"
"Yes you did!"
"That wasn't me! It was my older brother!"
"You don't even have an older brother!"
They went on for a couple of more lines. It eventually got the attention of S ranks and they screamed at them to start. '2121 and people are still using paper copies of porn. Shit better be in 20k HD if they still using it..'
The two then started running at each other. The Jason guy had his fist enveloped in fire while the Luis guy had his in fire as well. 'It really does seem that way, huh?'
In the past couple of years, people have started speculating that your personalities influence what element you get. Some think that this can't be possible as you get your element when your a baby and they don't have much personalities except for crying. Some believe this though as cases of element switches have been happening.
An element switch is when a person is born with attribute magic or unique magic, but later in life, it changes. Thats why some people think that it's based off personality as the switch also happens when their around 5. That enough time for a person to develope some form of personality.
That then brings up, 'Maybe the magic reader is faulty' which leads to completely different debate. A magic reader is something that tells the the type of magic a person is born with by the way.
"You'll buy me another one bastard!"
Joson crouched slightly as a fist came hurling at his face. He then went for his stomach and the strike connected, making Luis cough up blood.
This made the crowd cheer as they haven't had anything happening for the past 30 minutes. The two then went on with hitting and blocking. Their movements were amateur and their speed was slow.
Daemon then though that even his little sister could be them. He wasn't wrong really. Shes very smart in combat and uses her water very good.
"The winner is Jason Price! Please give him a round of applause!"
Sylvia then made an arm out of ice and held his hand up with that. 'Is that really necessary Sylvia?'
Like a germaphobe, she didn't like to touch people that often or vise versa. She wore gloves on her hands to shake others people hands, but shes not wearing them now.
The crowd cheered out with jealousy and hatred in their eyes. After that, a couple of more fights happened which ended up being boring like the first one.
Daemon forgets to mention that most of these fights are between 7-9 graders. Any other grade is either too young for fights, or just too old. By that, he means they don't hold grudges like that.
"Now. If anyone is below 50 points, I would advise you to pick someone now and come down and fight."
After she said that, Daemon and Lucifer got up. This made the crowd go silent as the two scooted down the aisle and started walking down the stairs.
"You think I'll be able to push you out?"
Lucifer was taling his earphones out and putting them into his pants pocket.
"They didn't say...that we could or couldn't. I don't know. Figure it out."
Daemon sighed as the two arrived on stage.
"Right. Which one of you is below 50 points?!"
Sylvia looked between us. The crowd listened closed, waiting on one of them to answer. 'Smh. Does she plan on embarrassing me?'
"Neither of us. We just forgot to go when the normal duels were happening. Who could be so terrible in physical activities that they got below 50 points?"
Daemon scoffed as each one went to opposite ends. Everyone only stared at the boy as he started stretching.
"Of course. All the students here are in goof physical shape. That we promise..."
Syvila then disappeared, meaning the two could start now. They didn't however as they needed to at least look like they were going to fight so they stretched a bit.
"Cake."
Lucifer quietly spoke out. 'Cake? He wants cake in a time like this?'
"What kind of cake will it be?"
They both then stared walking to each other with Daemon nodding at what he meant.
"Hm. Whatever looks pleasing when I walk into the store."
"No. Get an ice cream cake."
Daemon was slightly surpsied at his retaliation. 'So..he likes ice cream cakes huh? That's nice..'
"Okay. I'll do it for you. My sister happens to like them as well.."
Daemon then had a thought. 'Wait. I'm going to go buy a cake when I can just make on myself.' From a single thought, a cake was already making itself at his house. 'Gotta leave a note for her not to eat it..'
She gets home before Daemon, so he had to do this much. 'I just hope she doesn't get too happy and ignore it..'
The two then stood in front of each other.
"Bring drinks and chips? I'll do everything else."
Daemon suggested.
"Hm? Oh, okay. I can do that. Anything for the cake."
Daemon then put his hand out and pushed Lucifer down. Lucifer grunted like he was pain and said..
"I-I give up!"
Even his shouts were quiet. It was still heard by everyone though, causing things to go up into an uproar. People were booing and throwing food at us.
"Lucifer..."
Daemon put his hand out and Lucifer took it.
"Thank you for helping me out."
Hearing that, a slight realization hit Lucifer, but he ignored it.
"No problem. This is what...friends do right?"
Lucifer smiled as Daemon pulled him up. 'This will be our last day as friends. No matter what now, we'll go our separate ways. At school at least..'
"Right. This is what friends do..."
