"It was close call there...
... Arrgghh!, what really have I done to deserve all this?"
Denzel sat on his bed, reminiscing about his past with Leia and his friends as he rolled a bandage on his injured leg.
Soon, he dropped his injured leg and placed his both hands on his bed to make himself comfortable, thinking back to what had happened at the park.
"Who the hell are you?!"
Denzel ran as fast as he could from the two men that kept flashing their torches to him.
"Is he mentally disarrayed? Why is he completely unclothed?"
"I don't seem to understand either, this place truly deserves to be closed down, like, what's the deal with the security system over here? Wh-"
The man stopped talking, his eyes slowly opening wide as he was stunned at the sight of Denzel's transformation.
"So the rumours of a BEAST being alive wasn't just a lie? Well, Agent Ray, if we want to receive good words from our boss, let's get hold of that monster."
"I get that, but let's not rush ourselves, we were only sent here by our boss and you know, so let's focus on what we have to do and also, if it was that monster that killed them in this Savage manner, I would recommend we call for assistance if not, we would only be murdered in the split of a second. So, let's take a break."
"You never agree with me, anyways, I'll accept your refusal. The main point is, let's check out that school tomorrow, and maybe, who knows, their fifth friend might be that monster."
Denzel's rage grew more and more as they kept referring to him as a monster and when he couldn't take it anymore, he charged towards them and with his eagle's feet, he knocked them both down at the same time.
"Hey, Misters, what do you know? You keep referring to me as a monster... but what do you know about me that makes you refer to me as a monster?"
"Huh, your physique already says a lot...
...It ain't a lie monster, you really are one, what else would you call a BEAST?"
"Don't make me force myself to keep you shut."
*Vroom*Vroom*
Denzel heard the sound of two vehicles coming towards them at full speed and he kept shut, instantly preparing to flee.
'Within that short time, they already called backup, I would rather to keep my anger to myself and get out of here.' Denzel thought as he prepared to take off. The moment he went up a little, he heard a gunshot sound and what followed it was the sharp pain he felt in his feet and it made him scream. He lost his balance and he flew down in pain, with his eagle form transforming back to his human form slowly. He noticed that the men were running towards him, and he knew if he had gone back to his human form, he would be done for, he had no other choice than to force himself to stay in his eagle form. He struggled to get himself up and he managed to take off.
Denzel kept bumping into anything that came his way since he couldn't get a grip. He finally flew down when he felt he could and he began to walk in between alleys, looking for where he had dropped his stuff earlier.
After walking in between alleys, Denzel had transformed back to his human form, he had no choice because he was very tired. When he finally got to the spot where his clothes were, he decided to take a break. Forgetting he was butt naked, he came out to the road to take in little air. The alley was kind of cramped and with the way he had worked himself, he kept gasping for air.
"Hey, see that guy, is he psychotic?"
Denzel was about to take a little rest when he noticed two ladies curse at him as they passed. They kept staring at him like he was irksome. For a second, he cringed as he froze and the moment he noticed one pull out her phone, he thought she was about to take his picture, but he couldn't get why she would want to take a shot of him. The media at that time had gotten scary and who knows, he might end up being the latest laughing stock so he stood and forced himself to run back into the alley. He picked up his clothes as he ran thinking the ladies might actually have the time to chase him.
"Arrgghhh!" Denzel screamed as he leaped, moving fast to lose sight of the civilians who were suspicious of him.
"Here should do." Denzel said as he leaned on a wall and he moved down to sit. He sighed as he tried putting on the already worn out cloth, he had no choice but to make do with it.
Denzel got up as soon as he wore his cloth and he his phone vibrated on the ground, signifying a notification. He bent and took it up to keep it in his pocket and he moved out from another alley.
"Taxi!"
A vehicle pulled out at Denzel's front and he opened the door to enter.
"Little Hill please"
The car drove off.
******************************************
Denzel layed down his head on his bed as he kept thinking about all he had been through. It was then an idea struck his mind.
'Ted! Yes, he is still alive, if I had listened to him in the first place, all these wouldn't have happened. I am sure he would resent me, after all I said to him.
Well, I wouldn't tell myself a lie he is the only one I can trust now, I guess I should text him if he isn't asleep.'
Denzel took out his phone and put it on.
"15 missed calls
40 Text messages"
Denzel opened his eyes, shocked as he saw that on the screen of his phone.
"Dad? Is there some urgent matter?" Denzel said as he kept scrolling through his cell phone and he clicked on textme- a centralised texting application.
-Hey, Ted, You up? I'm really sorry for all I said and did earlier today-
Denzel dropped his phone immediately he sent the text, expecting no reply from Ted who he expected to have slept, knowing Ted was someone who takes his sleep seriously unlike him who was practically a night crawler.
*zooooooom zooooooom*
Denzel's phone vibrated and he immediately picked it up to check if it was from Ted.
~Denzel...~
Seeing Ted's reply, Denzel jumped up from the bed, his hands moving swiftly as he typed back a message.
-Ted! Thank the heavens you haven't slept. Dude, a lot went down today.-
~What went down? your lil' ol' party?"~
-Ted..-
-A lot really happened man, apparently, you were right about Leia..-
~She confessed? Man, your party must have been real fun for her to have confessed~
-No..
I don't mean that. I mean...-
~What's wrong? This isn't how you text me on a norm, you always go straight to the point..~
-Okay man, Rocco, Ariel and Carter... how do I even put this?-
Denzel paused as he sent the message and he scratched his head, panicking. He didn't know how he was going to present it to Ted.
-Like, they are all dead... Leia killed them all-
~I don't seem to understand you, killed them all, where are you going with this?~
Denzel grinned his teeth as he explained to Ted all that had happened that day. He kept typing, not even giving Ted a chance to reply back. Each time Ted tried to reply a text, a next one enters and Ted noticed the tension in the way he had replied.
~Denzel, pause, take a deep breath, calm down. You have said enough and I understand what you are trying to say.~
Ted on the other hand, who was trying to console Denzel was really pained, he was ready to kill Leia at the sight of her. But, that didn't mean he still didn't have a grudge with Denzel, resented Denzel because a little Denzel was more stupid, to be more precise, Denzel was just naive. He couldn't read the situation at hand and he didn't even ponder about it, but just jumped into conclusions to support Leia.
Ted already had a feeling that was going to happen but he still felt bitter pain in his heart, that he didn't do anything to save them, and he cried, cursing himself, Leia and Denzel. But still, on the phone, he sent texts to make Denzel think he was calm about the whole situation. He has always had an habit of acting like he didn't care about most things, even when he cared the most.
~Denzel, what were Ariel's last words?~
In the middle of Denzel's clouded thoughts and pain, a little thought crossed Denzel's mind.
'We all thought that love was one sided, if only this idiot had made it known to her, she might have died happier.'
-Ted, I am sorry, Ariel was the first to be killed, when Carter, Rocco and I went to get something from a nearby stall, we came back with the blood of Ariel all over the place. It seemed like she had fought hard with that psycho we thought to be our friend.-
Ted grew angrier the moment he saw that message come in.
~Good night~
'It was you who thought she was our friend, you caused most of this, Denzel, don't pile me up with you.' Ted thought to himself as he put off his phone to sleep.
