Chapter 2 - 1

The birds chirped in the soft clouded sky, cars honked, and people talked in the busy city of New Orleans. It was a sunny day that day, about 80 degrees Fahrenheit, as Akio walked the busy streets to the cafe that he worked in. He was a small male, about 167 cm and very skinny, his body like a twig almost with how skinny he was. He wasn't underweight or anything like that, he was just extremely skinny. He had pinkish hair that went down to the middle of his neck, almost like a mullet but it wasn't. It had an undercut and the hair on top of it only went down to his ears. He knew he needed a haircut for his undercut since it was growing out, but didn't bother.

As he neared the cafe, he checked the time; 9:30 a.m., he was right on time. He made his way over to the glass door of the cafe and opened it, going inside and straight to the back. He was already in his uniform but he needed to clock in for the day, quickly doing so and going to the counter, seeing his other co-workers. There were three of them in total. Jack, a male that reached the height of 185 cm and had a pretty average body type, short brown hair that covered his eyes. Lan, a male about the height of Akio, having long blonde hair, and of course, Akio. The three weren't too close but they knew each other well, sometimes hanging out after work since they all got off around the same time.

"Hey Akio" Jack said with a small smile plastered across his lips. Akio smiled and greeted him back, Lan also greeting Akio. The cafe was already pretty busy, having the usual businessmen and women, the one homeless man that came in every time he had enough money, and the casual citizens. People came and went, ordering the usual coffee and food that they served, some customers being the absolute bitches but it was normal for grumpy people to come in around that time. As Akio worked and helped serve orders, a tall man entered the cafe. He seemed to be about 182 cm, a well built body, and dark hair. He was wearing a black shirt with black pants, his outfit in complete black. The man slowly walked up to the counter and seemed to be looking for someone until he spotted them, staring straight at them, the person being Akio.

"Uh.. can we help you sir?" Lan asked as he was at the counter at that moment. The man kept staring at Akio with a look that would send chills down anyone's spine before focusing his attention back on Lan. "Caramel Frappe." He said, his voice deep with a mysterious tone in it. Lan nodded, writing the order down before looking at the male with a smile. "You can have a seat anywhere you'd like and we'll be right with you with your order." The male nodded, slowly walking past the counter to the seat area, sitting in a booth all the way in the corner. As Lan made the coffee, Akio stared at the man that had just been at the counter. He didn't like the vibe he gave off, it gave him the creeps.

Soon, Lan had finished the latte and looked at Akio. "Akio, could you take this to him?" Lan said as he pointed towards where the man sat. Akio seemed to hesitate but nodded, grabbing the styrofoam cup of hot coffee and bringing it over to the man in the corner. "Here's your order sir." he said and gave him a friendly smile, like he always did to customers,  before turning around and going back over to the counter. He could feel the eyes of the man upon him as he walked back but he ignored the feeling. He went back to what he was doing previously before he had to serve the coffee, humming softly. Of course, he couldn't get the feeling that the man was watching him off his mind as he sighed, it distracting him a bit.

More customers came and went, night soon approaching as the sun disappeared behind the tall skyscrapers. It was about 7:30 p.m. when it was getting dark and that signaled that it was time to clock out of work. Akio and his coworkers always left the cafe at 7:30, the time that it got dark. As Akio clocked out and grabbed his stuff, his coworkers caught up to him. "Hey, Akio, want to hangout at our place?" The two asked as Akio looked at them. He would've accepted but he was worn out from today's shift and just wanted to get back to his one story house that his parents paid off for him. "No thanks.. I'm a bit tired" he said with a shake to the head. "Aww.. alright, see you tomorrow man". They said, patting his back before going out the door, going the opposite way Akio took home. He watched them leave before sighing, leaving as well and heading his own way. The streetlights had already turned on but the street was still busy with cars going about their day.

Akio took out his phone as he walked down the sidewalk, not paying much attention to his surroundings, unaware of the figure that was already following him. As he walked the mile of the sidewalk, passing many stores, he looked down at his phone. He was currently scrolling through Instagram like he always did, either texting someone or looking at what was on his feed, his feed being full of art and animals. Finally, he turned into the ally way that was a shortcut to his house, sighing in relief to know he was almost home. It hadn't even been a minute though, as he felt someone grab him and in an instant, everything went black.

"For you, I'd do anything."
