According to the inheritance. Being in 'Padmasana' (Lotus position) makes our body and soul connect with something called Hiranyagarbha or universal consciousness. That is from where all the mystical powers are derived from. Be they gods, Devils, ghosts, or humans, everything gets its powers from the Hiranyagarbha.
But, not every human can obtain those powers. Even Asura, who had a special constitution, couldn't use them until the inheritance branded runes in his body which helped him tap into the power. It is like plugging a direct cable connection to the mystical power source, which made it easier for Asura to tap into these powers easily.
During ancient times, with the abundance of soul power on earth, it was much easier to tap into the soul power, but with the passage of time, and as this is' Kal yuga ', the soul power concentration is thinning out in the living realm.
Shaking his head out of these random thoughts, Asura concentrated and chanted in a low voice.

This is said to be the most powerful mantra for cultivation. Chanting this mantra allows one to enter a transcendental mode or a state of pure concentration. Which greatly helps us clear our thoughts and tap into the power of the Hiranyagarbha.
As Asura continued to chant the mantra, he felt a cooling sensation spread all over his body and his body relaxed. All of the random thoughts went out of his head and his mind went blank with no external thoughts.
As the mantra continued, it formed a resonance, as his heartbeat slowed down and followed the rhythm produced by the sound, and as soon as the resonance formed, his mind space or inner soul brightened like 1000 suns were lighting it up. The intense brightness receded like a tide as soon as it arrived and everything went dark in the mind space.
Following the instructions from the inheritance, Asura utilized his soul power and guided it towards his palms while still continuing the mantra. As the soul power reached the palms, the palms glowed with a light golden sheen, and then he increased the pace at which he chanted the mantra. As the pace of the mantra increased, the golden sheen brightened and the asura willed it and moved it along the hand.
As the golden sheen slowly crawled over, Asura felt as if he was dragging a mountain. Slowly, he dragged the golden sheen to his elbow.
"Hufffff..."
As soon as the sheen reached his elbow, Asura couldn't take it anymore and with a huge huffing sound, he released control of the golden sheen. The golden sheen immediately returned back towards his palm and disappeared into his hand. Asura felt a huge relief after letting it go, as it was getting too taxing for his soul power to make the golden sheen spread.
Alex then slowly stopped the chanting of the mantra and opened his eyes slowly. As the eyes opened, a little golden flash appeared in them and disappeared.
"Phew... even the basic steps in the training are so hard to do. I only reached my elbows. It would take a long time before I could cover my entire body with the golden sheen. " The golden sheen is the soul power of a person, as stated in inheritance to even begin cultivation. First, a person has to cover their body with their soul body. When their entire body is covered with soul power, then they can get on to the next step of cultivation, or to say, they will then start absorbing the powers of the cosmos.
The inheritance didn't specify how long it takes a person to cover their entire body, but Alex knew he should take it slow and steady as the basics are the most important part of the foundation for higher levels. He then got up from the lotus position and even though the cultivation felt strenuous after he stopped the cultivation, it wasn't that much anymore.
"I should take time every day and practice diligently and better not overdo it." He said to himself and then willed the soul power to appear on his palm. This time he tried to see how much he could cover without being in Padmasana. And as Alex concentrated on pulling the golden sheen, it felt like he was pulling ten mountains at once. It was a disastrously slow pace. After ten seconds of painful pulling with the will, the golden sheen only reached his wrist, too.
Alex got speechless looking at that and just simply shook his head and chided himself for being overconfident. In the inheritance, it says those that can cultivate the basic step to perfection will have much better chances at breaking through to the higher levels of power. An individual who can instantaneously cover their entire body with golden sheen will have higher chances than the one that cant do it.
And it said, during some unknown era, there was a primordial Asura. During his childhood, when he started cultivating, he was able to instantaneously cover his entire body with gold and the golden sheen was as thick as one meter. From then until now..only a few supreme beings have been able to achieve the same feat.
"They must be super powerful beings, but so what? In front of time, anyone has to disappear. Now, no one is alive, everyone is gone. This yuga couldn't allow for such powerful beings. They all became part of the Hiranyagarbha.
Asura mused aloud as he made his way towards the bathroom, deciding to bathe and sleep. After twenty minutes, he returned back from the bathroom, hot steam rising from the body as he rubbed the hair with the towel.
"Lala~~lalaaa~~ laa~~~ "
Asura came out of the bath singing a tune and thought. 'It just feels heavenly to take a hot shower after a day of hard work, especially at night before going to bed.'
He then proceeded to dry his hair and called it a day off as he went off to sleep.

Namah – It means to bow or show adoration.
Shivaya – It means the inner self.
Repeating this mantra over and over again leads to a transcendental mode or a state of pure concentration.
