"What the heck man! Why is my network dead?"
I snatched up my phone and dashed towards the door, convinced that there must be a signal there... but I had only taken the first step and didn't even go out to the front desk's yellow line to see the visitors entering.
"I need a room right now. Can you hurry up and register for me?"
A woman who appeared to be seven or eight months pregnant walked on with a small child.
The woman's brows were drooping with grief, her eyes were blue, and she struggled to walk, but the small girl next to her was the polar opposite, as she was gleefully smacking the red ball in her palm on to the ground.
"Boom... boom!"
The ball made a very loud noise, similar to an adult playing basketball. I instantly recognized that it was... out of the ordinary!
Is it possible for a girl who appears to be only a few years old to be so strong that her force of hand makes the ball make such a loud noise?
"Ohh! The name is different now. That's correct. If I remember correctly, now is the time to switch to someone else... Yes, the name has a pleasant odor. It should to be a male."
The woman gave a soft and kind grin as she looked at the small blackboard on the wall, her nose flapping like a dog as she smelled it.
That's odd. Why did she remark, 'the name has changed?' And instead of looking at my face, why just stare at the blackboard?
Could it be that she can't see me? Besides, do names even smell?
Does she indirectly mean I smell good without the sweaty smell most bachelors have? It must be, right?
I woke up from my reverie and once again remembered the murder. I wanted to remind her that this is a dangerous area and that she must leave the crime scene, but before I could.
"Hurry up and register, I have something to do!" she urged again.
I instantly glanced over to that corridor, attempting to check... Huh? Why is the woman's neck okay now?
No, it was clearly broken at the time. Her head was clearly inclined to the left, and the man proceeded to pummel her head in a manner that indicated he would not let go until she bashed it...
But, why is she fine now?
"Clack clack"
The two of them continued to walk upstairs, now separately on their own. She was clearly walking on her own, rather than being dragged.
This demonstrates that she is still alive. Could it be that what I saw was my eyes playing tricks?
"Hellooooo!"
I hurriedly turned my head towards the sound and met the eyes of the woman in front of me, who was feeling irritated. I promptly registered in her room, thinking I must not have gotten enough sleep and, as it was my first time working the night shift, I must be confused. Just as I was going to hand her the room key, I froze in shock and horror...
As the belly under the pregnant woman's skirt moved, and even though the clothes were in between the belly, I clearly saw two small palm marks jutting from the dress. Then, the lower part of the woman's skirt suddenly turned red, as if it had been soaked in blood.
The hem of the woman's skirt was grasped by a little red hand, and something then crawled out like a monkey...
My god, this is a baby covered in a slimy red substance like blood, and there is still an umbilical cord connected to the woman by its belly button. The baby crawled up to the woman's chest, and turned its head and stared towards me with big, ghastly white eyes.
My entire body erupted with goosebumps as a cold breath rushed from the soles of my feet up to my head in an instant like I was standing inside an ice glacier.
I..this... Am I in hell or Is it possible that I am hallucinating?
After all, the girl who had recently suffered a broken neck miraculously recovered the next moment. Maybe I am seeing things.
I massaged my eyes rapidly and once again looked forward towards the woman. This time I was sure I was not hallucinating or confused as her previously blue eyes had now turned white.
"Hehe... Brother... hehe!"
I was greeted with a giggle from the baby. The laughter was abrasive and piercing. While the laughter sounded, blood started flowing out of the woman's mouth, and not just the mouth, but the entire body was bleeding, dyeing the woman's entire skirt red.
The mother patted the baby on the back to soothe it, took the room card, and dragged the little girl away with one hand, with the infant still drenched in blood.
After what appeared to be hours, I woke up from the stupor and hurriedly looked around.
I felt a chill pass over, causing me to shake severely due to my body being soaked wet with sweat. I am no coward, but the scene in front of me was too horrifying for anyone to take in, just as my thoughts arrived at the woman.
I remembered the weirdness of the old woman and the two youngsters.
Is it possible that they, they... aren't human too?
I weakly slumped back onto the chair as I tried to clear my head of the messy thoughts and remembered the old man's words.
'Never cross the line or speak to the customers'
Does it mean as long as I don't speak or cross the line, they can't harm me or see me? But, the demonic baby was constantly laughing and chuckling, and called me baby!
As I was once again lost in thoughts, I heard the sounds of walking and bones breaking and I hastily peered along the corridor.
"Crack!"
I noticed the three of them walking down the corridor. The hand which was tapping the red ball missed it and instead hit the wall. Her hand snapped with a gut-wrenching sound right there on the spot and blood flowed out of her hand like a spray and splashed across the ground and the wall. After a few seconds, the blood disappeared from the surroundings as if it was never there.
What's going on here? The blood just vanished. But the wound on the girl had not healed, and blood continued to flow.
What's more disturbing is that her left-hand wrist was just dangling from her hand with blood-red shreds of meat, and every time she moved, little chunks of meat continued to fall down, making a 'patter' sound.
I was astonished by this picture, unable to put into words the terror in my heart. I'm not sure how I didn't scream till now!
Bam!
A sense of powerlessness swept through my heart. As I flopped down on the chair with my legs trembling,
"Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, what the heck did I get myself into?"
I screamed out those words as I was feeling too scared and hopeless. This must be a ghost hotel, and a terrifying one at that.
I have heard about these kinds of ghost hotels before, in stories and books and movies. Never did I know everything was real?
I shook my head trying to be sober and looked at the clock and noticed it was just twelve o 'clock. So I calmed myself and huddled into the chair and moved into a corner. To make myself feel secure. I didn't have any thoughts about crossing the yellow line and trying to see what would happen.
My nervous attitude eventually subsided when the wall clock struck three o'clock. I made up my mind to run out of the hotel at four a.m. and never return to this place ever again in life.
As for the contract for one year of compulsory work. It can go to hell along with the old man who duped me into coming here.
As I was fuming over my situation of being duped by the old man, the door to the hotel was pushed open once again and a 300-pound overweight man walked in. Because he was too big, when he squeezed in one swift motion, the door made a harsh creak as if it was about to break.
As soon as I saw someone enter, I stood up and saw this mountain of flesh walking towards me.
Without saying anything, the overweight man came up to the front desk, peered at the little blackboard on the wall, looked at me again, took out his ID, and patted the table. His pat caused the table to violently tremor and, without thinking for a bit, I hurriedly registered a room for him and gave him the room card.
He simply took them and walked towards the stairs. As I gulped nervously looking at him go, he stopped at the entrance of the stairs as he was unable to go up due to him being too wide.
He seemed to be thinking about something, when he turned his head and looked straight into my eyes and grinned wickedly. Then, without a second thought.
"Puff!"
He tore the flesh on both sides of his body with his bare hands until the bones were exposed, then picked up the huge chunks of his flesh and carried them up the stairs.
I felt disoriented when I saw this image, and combined with the intensity of the other scenes, my brain couldn't take it anymore and I passed out.
