Early the next morning, a knock sounded from the front door and Aisrin rolled from his bed. It was time to hand out the 25 copies of his notice to the waiting villagers. Aisrin opened the door, the notices in hand. He handed each villager a notice as well as meat and grains he had prepared in advance during the week. The grains had been used to make bread, using his Alchemy magic.
"Take the next hour to study these. Obviously there's no need to announce your occupation to everyone. Just know you now have an occupation. I also want you to announce that men and women are excepted into every occupation mentioned. Now, off you go. Syphra, glad to see you. Follow me." Aisrin dismissed the 25 and then beckoned to Syphra. Syphra followed Aisrin into the house and into his room. He then set about explaining what she was required to do.
"This... is well thought out. These other plans over here, the infrastructure... as is written, though I know not it's meaning, the description seems to make sense to me. This seems too fantastic to be real.
And these designs... this is a... ship? What is a ship? Cannons? Guns? What does any of this mean?" Syphra was going through all the things Aisrin wrote down and drew up designs for.
"You will be my secretary and archivist. Every transaction made in the future, every expedition made, all inventory gathered, villager alive or born, immigrant moved in, animal added, and building built. You will archive after being written down.
You will aide me in everything I do. Officially, consider yourself my right hand. And, as to your questions, a ship is something that provides travel via water. This will be set into motion after winter. Cannons and guns are next age weaponry that will add significant power to our nation.
What it all means, is that I will be taking this current era into an entirely new one." Aisrin explained.
"I'll just have to trust you. So, I'll be taking these blank sheet with me?" Syphra asked Aisrin.
"To where? No. I'll be setting up this window... and you will sit here... and villagers will come up to this window and give you the required information. For each occupation, there is a stack. Each sheet will have the information of one person. The last page I give you, will be a summary page. Names of people in occupation followed by total number.
Furthermore, you will ask each one if they wanted a Laborer position, if so, a T will be pit next to their name on the summary page. That way, there would be no need to redo a page later to put into the Labor category. I will be creating an actual Archive later that you can separate each occupation into later.
As is, the idea I to just find their information later and move it over. It's ingenious if I might say so myself." Aisrin boasted.
"Sounds like more work for me." Syphra muttered.
"Later, when we've exceeded a thousand people, I'll hire more Archivists, then you'll be Head Archivist. So don't worry, it's only for a little while that you'll handle this great responsibility." Aisrin made her feel a little better, but not much.
"So, what's this about me being responsible for Hunters?" Ret burst into the house after finding out about the notice.
"You'll be teaching villagers to hunt." Aisrin told her simply.
"Aisrin! Why am I in charge of Foragers?" Lorenz burst in heatedly shortly after Ret.
"Exactly as it says. You get teach villagers on foraging." Aisrin answered simply.
"What are you planning?" Lorenz and Ret asked unanimously.
"A nation. This will be my nation. One created for the people, by the people. At least, eventually. For now, I'll have to lead them until they themselves can actually begin thinking for themselves and putting ideas of their own into fruition. Trust me. You'll come to love this idea." Aisrin told them.
Aisrin then went about putting food away in a warehouse he built for storage. This would be managed by Flit and Jillete and the food would be handed out to each household based on the list they'd recieve from Syphra later. But, for the first week, the food would be distributed equally, enough to feed a family for a day each.
5 pounds of meat and 2 loaves of bread.
*The end of the day*
Aisrin approached Syphra as she was finishing up her work.
"What do we got? I want numbers." Aisrin asked her.
"Well, everyone chose. Right now, we have twenty nine foragers, only seventeen hunters. Twenty five teachers to teach eighty eight students. Livestock Handlers are at a grand total of five. Those wanting a labor occupation I pit on this paper, so as not to have to do it later, and they are at an amazing fifty four. Crazy thing is, all of them, and I mean all of them, went towards the Soldier occupation.
Speaking of that one has a grand total of a hundred and fourty eight. Every villager was told, by me, cause I assuming this is correct, that they report to the middle of the village for you to further explain where they are going to start their respective training tomorrow at the same time they woke up today." Syphra explained everything she could, the best she could. Her brain had been worked to its max after today.
"Good. And, you ate quite knowledgeable." Aisrin noted.
"I have dragon blood in my veins. Knowledge comes easy to me." Syphra boasted pridefully.
'Oh yeah.'
"That's awesome. Well, better get rest. Early days from now on." Aisrin ushered her out. Anxious to get back to his other designs to further outline his plans.
*The next morning, the middle of the village*
Aisrin looked at the tired villagers, a smile smile on his face. Apparently they were used to waking up an hour after dawn.
"This'll be quick, so listen close and respond fast. Foragers, line up infront of Lorenz in three rows. Livestock Handlers, fall in line with them, at noon you'll fall in with Ret. Now follow him for your training.
Teachers and students, you all can go back to bed or something, I'll have to build a school by the end of the week. So until then, give private lessons or whatever.
Hunters, same as Foragers. Line up in three rows before Ret and follow her." Aisrin lazily barked orders.
Soon, all that was left, was the 148 soldiers that Aisrin had the luxury of Training. A nasty grin was on his face, he'd been waiting for this.
"I bet you all chose this because it sounded easy and full of benefits. Oh you were wrong. I hope you had a good night last night, cause you are following me, and living under one roof for the next three months.
Oh, it's too late to change your minds now. From this moment on, each and every one of you belongs to me. You will not sleep without my permission. You will most eat, until I give the okay. You will not engage in any form of sexual act, period. None, get used to it.
DID I SAY MOVE FUCKER! YEAH, YOU! Stupid motherfucker! I'm talking! You stand and listen! Those are your instructions! Why are you all gaggle fucked? You heard me earlier right? I want rows of straight lines! Theres a hundred and forty eight of you, I want four groups. MOVE!" Aisrin switched entirely. He was strict, loud, and aggressive.
He made four groups of thirty seven. Each group was lined up evenly with four rows each.
"Look around. This is your new family. You will eat together, sleep together, shit together, and get fucked up together. You are not individuals anymore. You are a unit. When one fucks up, you all fuck up.
Let's lay down some ground rules. Rule number one: Everything I say is law. Rule number two: See Rule number one. Am I clear? Alright. Let's go and see your new home. Ready... March!" Aisrin turned and led the poor souls just outside the village where they were graced with the view of a long rectangular building two stories high.
Outside was a field of sand and dirt, the usual grassy field that once flourished entirely replaced. Next to the tall building was a building of normal height but with the same long shape as the tall one. Down by the river was another set of stalls similar to the ones in the village. The difference was that these stalls were wide open and had zero privacy all around. They only had five sides. Bottom, where the hole was, top, far left, and far right to enclose the toilets from the elements on all sides except the front.
It was the same with the bath.
"Do you like it? I'm all about comfort. I also like building character. There are men and women alike in this Army. Normally, I'd segregate, but, I think this will be quite the challenge for all of you.
Remember, there will be zero sexual activity. And I don't sleep. I have mastered the art of not giving a fuck! Let's begin. Everybody, do as I do. Get down on your hands and knees. Great, now get off your knees like this... Yeah, now we go down... no, further... further... there we go. See how your chest is just barely on the ground? Those with giant tits need to go up until they aren't resting on their tits.
Good, now back up to start. Yep, down. Perfect. Now keep going until I say." Aisrin immediately taught them the pushup. Aisrin stood up and watched the beautiful scene before him. At first, it seemed easy, but then the struggle began.
There were complaints and whines within five minutes.
"Aw... your arms hurt? Do you want to stop? Okay, we can stop. Get up! Face right! No stupid! Military right.... fuck... hold on.... Face the fucking river!" Aisrin put his head in his hand as he forgot he wasn't on earth.
"Now run. You see the finely laid out path? Yeah, you're gonna follow it. I'll be behind you. If you drop back and I catch up to you. You'll be on the side doing pushups until the first person running passes you. Let's go! I told you to run!" Aisrin barked. The villagers began to severely regret their decisions. Aisrin was a demon.
'I'd love to train them the way I did, but frankly, they don't have that kind of time. I fear spring will bring misfortune with it.'
