The time to part arrived quickly, Ambrose had sat with them for the rest of the night discussing the various adventures they had been through when Zak exited the nearby cave entrance, "Ah Ambrose, I take it we must be close to the exit then." "Aye, two hour trek through the west tunnel" Ambrose stated matter of fact, "Well Dayn, we'll have to say our goodbyes, be about it then."
Dayn looked down at his feet then looked at Ziri, "I'll be sure to come back as soon as I'm able" he said feeling slightly down, "Hmph, don't do me any favors, but if you're lonely I guess I can see you" Ziri said turning her back to him as she finished. Dayn suspected she didn't want him to see her expression but he didn't push the issue, "Of course," he said happily, "I'll be back soon," Dayn and Zakary said goodbye to Garrok once he was up and about before leaving alongside Ambrose.
Dayn was walking along an old covered trail up a great soaring mountain range, the high ridge was covered in a blanket of snow, he trudged along coming to an ancient citadel near the peak, the iron bound doors lay smashed in the inner courtyard. He came across a massive tower with the likeness of a great silver dragon wrapped around it, the detail was immaculate Dayn believed the carving could come to life at any moment. The amount of silver this must have taken to get the detail of each individual scale, he was overcome and felt like kneeling before its greatness, all of a sudden a roaring voice resonated about the mountains.
"YOU ARE THE ONE THAT IS TO SERVE ME THEN" Dayn looked about and was unable to find who had spoken, the dragon wrapped about the tower suddenly came to life shaking the snow from his majestic form.
"TRULY YOUR WILLPOWER IS WORTHY TO COME BEFORE MY GREATNESS AND NOT FALL TO YOUR KNEES" the dragon said, Dayn looked upon the form of the ancient wyrm and felt weak in the knees. The powerful creature smiled "DON'T FALTER NOW CHAMPION I MIGHT QUESTION YOUR WORTHINESS," Dayn tried to speak but found he was shaken.
"Great Wyrm, I must admit I'm stunned by your majestic visage, but to call me champion, I've done nothing worthy of such a title" Dayn replied in a shaky voice, "NOT YET." came the dragons reply. "YOUR JOURNEY IS JUST BEGINNING YOUNG ONE, WHAT PATH YOU WILL TAKE EVEN I CANNOT SAY BUT YOU HAVE MY BLESSING, NOW SEARCH YOUR MIND AND CALL MY NAME WHEN YOU ARE READY."
Dayn was confused, he had never seen such a creature, of course he knew what it was he had seen them in media for most of his previous life, he felt a tingle in the back of his mind, a familial feeling that warmed his heart. "Selvarthrallax" he said quietly the name feeling familiar to him, he waited for a moment then called out in a loud confident voice "Selvarthrallax, Dragon God of the moon, the tides, and justice!"
Dayn jerked to a sitting position from his bed startling Sister Eve, he looked around taking a moment to regain familiarity with his surroundings, he had arrived back at the church with Zak late in the evening and collapsed into his bed as soon as he had arrived.
Sister Eve eyed him suspiciously for a moment, "What language were you speaking this time" she asked, Dayn gave the sister a blank innocent look. "I don't know any other languages sister" he said a virtuous smile on his face, she gave him a skeptical look, "Fine, you slept late and I did your chores for you, Zak is leaving soon and Sieri is here to see you."
The sister gathered up the remaining laundry in Dayn's room before going about her day, Dayn was half dressed when Sieri burst into his room, "Dayn! are you okay, we thought you were dead, you were only supposed to be gone a day but then four went by and." Dayn put his hands on her shoulders to stop her, Siari blushed beat red "You're half naked!" she screamed and ran from his room covering her eyes, she nearly collided with a sconce but Zak guided her out of its way.
"I'm returning to Kanarys briefly" Zak stated when he reached Dayn's room, "I've got some official documents to draw up and sign, before I return, it'll take a few weeks." Dayn nodded, "I'll see you in a few weeks then" he said respectfully.
"No slacking off on your training while I'm gone" he said with a smirk before mussing Dayn's hair, "What? I would never" Dayn said faking a hurt expression. "Little trouble maker" Zak said, "Now you should probably go catch the young miss before she walks into a column" Zak laughed aloud as he made his way towards the entrance.
After getting fully dressed Dayn found Sieri seated by a pillar in the main hall in a daze with a goofy smile on her face, she may have actually walked headlong into a pole Dayn thought to himself, he walked over and gave her a shake. "Sieri? Sieri? did you hurt your head?" Dayn gave her another shake before she finally noticed him, she blushed brightly again, "I wasn't thinking of anything, I swear I didn't, its not like I was thinking about all the new muscles you have, that's a false accusation!"
Dayn looked at her blankly, "So you did walk into the pillar?" he asked her after a minute "No of course not!" she denied, while rubbing a small bump on her forehead, Dayn gave her a skeptical look, "I didn't!" she refuted adamantly.
