Chapter 4 - Ch. III: it's magical here apparently

Song Playing: Material Girl by Madonna

She stared at the closet. It still remained empty. In an attempt, she closed the door and opened it again hoping for a different result. The closet was still empty. She scanned the closet hoping a solution would come to her.

"Commands." She blinked, "The screen worked by commands…"

She closed the door again but this time uttered, "Wardrobe from the 1850s." She silently prayed that it would work. Cracking open the closet a bit, she opened inside. She could see some clothes now. She threw open the doors, "Ha. Closet works by commands too."

A quick scan around the closet showed that it was divided into sections. And big. Very big. It was definitely bigger than her room back home.

There was a section for day dresses, ball gowns and nightgowns.

And riding attire.

And afternoon tea dresses.

And evening gowns.

And stockings in every color.

And gloves in every color.

And shoes lined endlessly.

And fans to match.

And corsets to hide.

And petticoats to cover.

Every time she turned she saw a new section with different types of clothing for different occasions. Was that a section for funerals?

She shook her head a bit. If she wasn't worried about the fact that she might be imprisoned in a book forever, she might have loved this.

Magic was everything to Naira. She loved the whole concept, from the rules of a magic society to the different powers a person can possess. Her world had it's own system for magic and she had studied it for fun before it became her major. But that magic was for God's chosen and Naira was not among the chosen. Though, when she had thought about it deeply, to be God's chosen means to suffer during death and being resurrected grantees more suffering. She let out a dry chuckle. Angels were on another level.

While she enjoyed books and the theory about magic, she had to admit being on the receiving end was a bit less adventurous. Maybe she should be thankful she hadn't become an Angel. Than again, she hadn't died yet and that was important to becoming an Angel.

But was she dead?

Was this a trial to becoming an Angel?

Because why the fuck was she inside a book of all places?

The last thing she remembered was going to sleep and mentally trying to list down all the things she did and needed to do for the job fair the next day. Angels would be present and she had worked tirelessly for 2 years to be qualified (read over-qualified) for a chance at an internship to work closely with a real Angel. Her 3rd and final year's essay was going to be full of her adventures with the Angels…

Did she die in her sleep?

But Angels usually died gruesome and painful deaths…

Mind in a different dimension, she tried to get ready in a way that might be good enough for the era she was in. She picked out a day dress that flows at the top and bottom but hugs the waist to form a pretty figure.

Naira looked in the mirror. She had to admit that the dress made her figure look a lot better than what she wore back home. She was short however and the dress did not help in that area in any way.

She attempted to find something with a bit more of a heel so she wouldn't feel so tiny. She did find it eventually and putting it on she felt a bit taller.

She walked out of the closet still having no idea what to do about the mission. With one hand on the doorknob to leave the room - her room - she took a deep breath before walking out.
