Elizabeth opened the gift her cousin gave her for her birthday. She smiled automatically when she found out that it was a diary. She's happy knowing that her cousin still remembers her despite her condition.
Truth be told, you can't call her the best "sister". She somehow felt guilty. Because she is busy working, she wasn't able to check on them properly. However, her family is very understanding. They didn't complain instead they still supported her with her endeavour wholeheartedly. She's lucky to have someone like them in her life.
She grab a pen and started writing on the diary. She paused midway when she suddenly remembered something. She shifted her gaze on the open window of her room. The curtain is flattering as if inviting her to look outside so she stood up and walk slowly near it.
Cold wind is blowing her hair. The light from the sky appear diffused. The sun is slowly disappearing from the horizon. It was a like a painted dream.
Moments later, her tears started falling.
"It happened a long long time ago but I can still remember the smell of the ocean, the glittering horizon and the island that everyone believed was a product of my vivid imagination…"
Tears continue to fall. Elizabeth let all her emotions out and calm herself after. She wiped her tears.
If only It is easy to forget. I wished I have listened to them.
Her shoulder started to shake again. At this time, she let herself cry her heart out. All of the emotions she's trying hard to control is now out in the open. This is the only way for her to make herself numb from all the pain.
A gentle knock brought her sense back.
"Elizabeth, it's time to take your medicine."
A woman wearing a white gown walk near her and guide her to sat down. She took her blood pressure and urge her to take the medicine. She then asked her how she's feeling right now. She told her the truth. That up until now, she is still struggling from the pain that the experience brought her and that she is trying her best to overcome it.
The woman smiled gently and says 'everything will be alright'.
Once the woman leaves, she gazed at the window again. Her head started to ache. She grab her hair and shouted, "aaaaaahhhhhh..."
A group of people rushed out to her room. Two men immedaitely went to her and pin her down to the bed. The woman wearing a white gown urgently calm her down. "sssshhhh .. it's okay."
I tried to break away but all my strength suddenly vanished. I felt really sleepy and then the last thing I remember is the white ceiling of the room I am in and then it was a complete oblivion.
