(Just so I don't keep interrupting the chap with (Image here) I will just put a picture of the dresses in the paragraph describing them. One more chap until Multiverse of Madness.
I spent so long doing research and looking for good pictures lol.)
The day finally arrived. And the entirety of Tempest seemed to be in celebration. Varuut and his band were playing music through all of the Tempest speakers. Music that filled everyone with energy and excitement. And thanks to the high quality of the speakers, music that sounded as if you were sitting in front of the orchestra.
The entire population was either watching the events in person, keeping a safe distance between each of them to prevent overcrowding and injuries, or at home using one of the screens that had been created in Vester's lab.
The skies were clear, and the temperature was perfect. A "complete coincidence" that absolutely didn't have the usage of magic and skills. With hundreds of flying petals that built into the atmosphere.
There were decorations across every single street of Tempest dedicated to each of the brides. Decorations that all met in the middle of the massive city to join a silvery-blue city center. And inside that Silvery blue center. Representing the union of each of the brides with the groom.
The children from Tempest were carrying baskets full of flowers that seemed to be never-ending as they continued to give one to each and every person they saw. Until most citizens were wearing or carrying a flower on them.
The ones who seemed to have had the most fun decorating were the ones in the art department. With hundreds of different things to display each street had something that differentiated them from the other.
From the massive wall paintings made by the art students to the hundreds of tiny sculptures spread all throughout the city. In some streets, the members of the dance department were being led by Yugen, dancing and spreading the cheers as they danced all through the city.
There were also all of Shuna's students from the weaving department who were giving out free handkerchiefs with small decorations in them.
The streets were all loud with celebration until a loud bell rang all throughout the city ten times. Indicating that the wedding was about to start. And as the bells rang the streets became quiet as people searched for the nearest screen.
At the moment I was standing on top of a platform that raised above the ground slightly. While facing the big curtain not so far away. With Benimaru, Zegion, and Diablo standing to the side of the platform with Veldora standing closest to me while all wearing suits.
When the bell rang, all of the ones who were blocking the street suddenly parted as they made a path for the brides to walk through. Opening up a direct path to a big curtain that would hide the brides until they walked out. Varuut changed the song they were playing into the one he had written for the occasion. And as the first notes began the curtain opened to reveal Lina.
She was wearing a white and mint green dress that reached the floor. She had a pair of golden bracelets on her wrists and on her hair, there was a small crown of flowers. She had a small blush on her face as she began walking forward through the crowd. With her father on her right hand and her mother on her left.
They walked with her until they reached the small platform at which point they stepped to the side. Lina stepped on the platform and gave me a smile before standing to my right and looking at the curtain that was opening once again.
Emerging was Shuna who was wearing a white kimono with red highlights. Her horns had golden patterns drawn onto them. Just as before she walked through the crowd with both parents by her side. And as she reached the platform she turned and gave a small bow to both of them before stepping on the platform and standing to my left.
The next to walk out was Shion, who was wearing a similar outfit to that of Shuna. And her black horn also shared the golden decorations on it. Since they were both from the same Ogre tribe they both shared the same traditions. She walked forward with her parents next to her.
Shion's parents were quite different from what you would expect. They were both shorter than Shion herself and had quite a gentle aura around them. In truth, they used to be one of the tribe's most dangerous and ruthless warriors before they decided to have Shion. But due to how monsters used to be born, they had given Shion most of their strength and magicules. And had turned into gentle loving parents.
Once Shion had reached the platform she gave them a small bow before stepping on the platform and moving to my right and standing next to Lina.
The next to emerge was Souka, and she was wearing a long sleeveless white dress whose top was made to resemble dragon scales. Her father walked next to her with a small bowl in his other hand. And once they reached the platform Souka offered her hands to her father and he painted a red dot on both of them with the paint he carried on the small bowl. And after that, Souka stepped on the platform and stood next to Shuna.
As the curtains opened once again Trya emerged while wearing a sleeveless v neck light green dress. On her arms, there was golden a branch-like decoration that ran from her hands to her elbows. On her right, there was another dryad walking alongside her. And on her left, was her best friend Lai. The woman who ran the Tempest Library. Once Trya stepped onto the platform and stood next to Shion, Lai gave her a thumbs up before they both moved to the side.
Hinata was the next to appear as she wore a more modern wedding dress. It was a pure white dress. She actually had a red blush on her face as she held a bouquet of white flowers. Luminous was the one standing next to her as they walked. And she seemed to have a bit of a smug smile. My best guess would have been that she told Hinata something before they stepped through the curtain.
Once they reached the platform Hinata gave the flowers to Luminous and whispered something in her ear before moving to stand next to Souka.
Milim was the next to emerge wearing a simple sleeveless dress similar to Hinata's. Her pale pink hair was braided with flowers. And her star necklace was shining slightly. Standing next to her was a slightly uncomfortable Guy in a suit. But his uncomfortable look disappeared as he offered his arm to start walking Milim forward.
As they reached the platform Guy told Milim.
"Congratulations, kid."
Milim answered him with a smile and a sincere thank you before stepping into the platform next to Trya.
Ramiris was the next to emerge. She was wearing a dress with mixtures of white and light green similar to the one she used to wear in the past. The back of the dress was open to reveal her wings that were fluttering slightly.
On her right was Treyni who was holding onto Ramiri's arm tightly. And on her left was Beretta, who had been assigned to her back when he had been summoned and never reassigned. So he had spent most of his time serving her, and in the process had grown quite close to her.[1]
As they reached the platform Treyni gave Ramiris a tight hug. And Beretta bowed down to Ramiris before they both stepped into the side. And after returning the hug Ramiris walked next to Hinata.
Finally, the last one to step out was Velgrynd. And she was wearing a Crimson Qipao with golden decorations. Her blue hair had been styled in a waterfall braid. And she had a bright smile on her face as she held onto Velzard's arm. She had a bit of a dreamy look as she began to move forward.
Velzard gave her sister a hug and a kiss on the cheek before moving away. And Velgrynd stepped onto the platform next to Milim.
Now that everyone was finally here Varuut began to play a different song as the wedding moved to its next phase.
The wedding took some time as with each person I was marrying we took the time to implement their own cultures and traditions. And while Milim, Ramiris, and Trya didn't really have any traditions they had each created one of their own.
The wedding might look quite messy with the different styles and colors of dresses and with the different traditions. But what was Tempest if not a combination of cultures? Each culture had a different understanding of what marriage meant and how it was done. And the people of Tempest were willing to accept and learn about others.
The wedding was a celebration for all. So all throughout Tempest each of the separate races was having their own different type of celebration. Whether it was by drinking or by painting, by throwing petals, or by making origami.
By the time most of the wedding celebrations had finished the sun had been replaced with the moon. Yet there was still a multitude of light in the sky as small paper lanterns floated all over. They had been made with magic, so they would remain in the sky for hours. And when the time came the fire in them would grow and consume the paper. As they were designed to clean after themselves.
The celebrations continued all throughout the night. And once the morning of the next day finally came, Tempest was in almost absolute quiet as its citizens rested.
~The End~
~A/N~
This was where I was originally planning to end the story. Not sure how well the wedding turned out but I spent such a long time searching for dresses and trying to figure out how to write it.
And in the end, all I could do was my best, which was this. I liked how it ended, it feels quite peaceful.
As for what plans I have for the future? I am going to be doing some Multiverse chapters before completing the story. Then I am going to do some chaps of the Journal of Rob story before moving on to the next fanfic.
If you have any suggestions for it let me know though I already have some plans in mind.
[1] I forgot about Beretta lol.
