(Kind of a time skip as I go through what happened. But I will be jumping in between events in future chaps. I have an idea in mind that I want to test out for the last little bit of the story. Kept it kind of vague in some parts since I want to explain in future chaps.)
Velgrynd stepped back for a moment and said.
"Don't worry, I'll win your heart back in no time." She said in an extremely confident tone.
I ruffled her hair and teleported us back to Tempest.
"Who knows, maybe I will win yours too?" I answered, catching her a bit off guard.
Since she had made her mind so resolutely I would have to make a choice in the future. And if I was going to it would be as myself.
"I don't know much about you other than what I have heard from Velzard and Veldora. So I should hear your story too. But for now, remember that your sister wanted to talk with you once we were back. So don't leave her waiting too long." I said, reminding her she had promised Velzard to meet with her when we returned.
Velgrynd reluctantly agreed and teleported to Velzard.
…
In the end, there were some smaller groups of angels that did attempt to attack Tempest. But the ones who had stayed behind were more than enough to take care of everything without taking any serious damage.
The majority of the world didn't even realize the attack had even happened.
And so the world returned to the way it was before. But news of the eastern empire joining Tempest began to spread. This meant that the entire world had become unified sd they were either an ally of Tempest or part of Tempest itself. Bringing in a new era of peace.
The raging storm that covered the barren lands also disappeared. The damage had been done as the one fertile ground was nothing but sand, but there was now a chance of change.
Thanks to the peace brought by the unity many new projects began.
"Alright class, you will be taking the gates in the city to head to your destinations. I am happy to announce that you all were part of my last class, as I am retiring. I hope all of you have a great time and learn as much as you can. Your hometown will need your knowledge." Myrd announced as he ended class for the year.
Many villages of humans and monsters had gathered together to learn about building techniques and receive an education. As not everyone was willing to abandon their territories or villages they were provided with the knowledge and materials to better their living conditions. Once they learned from the classes and assisted in the building of other locations to gain real job experience they could go back to their territories to build in them.
The classes were open to anyone who wished to join in the newly expanded Academy of Tempest. And among the new Academy of Tempest came many new courses.
"Yo." Laplace said as he entered my office.
"I got a report that the outskirts of the kingdom of Siltrozzo are dealing with some monsters you can't reason with. And they were hoping to get some adventurers to assist.
I thought this might be a good chance to send those adventurer students, but I wanted to get confirmation from you first."
I looked at Laplace who was still wearing his signature mask. But his clothing was more formal now. And judging by the way he kept on pulling and moving around he probably didn't find it too comfortable.
"Laplace, you are the new leader of the adventurer's guild. You know you could have sent someone for this, right? If you go around running all over the place you'll end up getting exhausted."
"Ah, well, I'll keep it in mind. I also wanted to move a little. Kagali told me to wear better clothes now that I took over the guild, but I can't stand sitting in these."
I threw a small card at him before saying.
"Go there, they will get you some new clothes for free. They are the best of the best. Think of it as a welcoming gift. Ask for Alice, she has been working there for some time and has a real eye for detail."
After Laplace left in a hurry to get some more comfortable clothing I heard Ciel inform me.
[Dino and Gracia are about to watch it. Should we stop them or just let them?]
'Probably stop them. Pico is already taking a break because of it so it would be kind of a waste to let them be affected by it.'
[Alright, I'll get to it. But really, I know everything is already prepared for the big event. But you really should just quit for the day. You'll be passing on these responsibilities pretty soon either way.]
'I know, I know. I was just grabbing some stuff for the Labyrinth.'
The biggest project we had done up to date. It had already taken its first steps. But just as always, when it came to things like this. We end up getting carried away.
What should have been a small thing, in the beginning, ended up becoming an absolute behemoth. But it only made the whole thing more enjoyable for all of us.
It all began with one simple question.
"Ramiris!"
I said that day while scooping up the little fairy.
"Wanna expand the maze?"
…
"No, no, we have to make them hidden in special locations. If we make it too obvious then what is the point." Gracia said as she pointed to certain drawings on the table.
"But if we do that, no one is going to ever discover the shortcuts. Are we really going to put so much work into them if nobody is going to use them?" Dino asked while pointing at the pile of drawings on the floor
"We should ask Pico, Ramiris said that she is currently busy getting ready for something important so we should only call her if it's something important," Gracia said after sighing.
"You know she is on a vacation… She needs some time to recover."
"I swear, if it was in the restricted section she shouldn't have looked at it." Gracia said while sighing.
"She said she only looked at it because it had her name. So she thought that it was for her." Dino said.
"What's the deal with that video anyway?"
"From what I can remember, it was used to defeat an enemy of Tempest on the night it became an empire."
"With a video?" Gracia asked.
"I guess? No one really ever dares to look at it."
"..."
"..."
"You know…. It could mean a free vacation if we end up like Pico." Dino said.
"I don't want to end up like Pico but… I am really curious…" Gracia added.
"Should we?"
