(Slightly shorter chap since I had a pretty big headache/was resting most of the day. Wasn't planning on writing today but after I ordered myself some Tylenol the headache cleared up. But by then it was kinda late to write a full chap. Oh well, consider this a part 1 at 968 words.
I'll try to get a better chap tomorrow depending on how I am feeling. See ya.)
"Hahahaha. After all of this time, I finally managed to close it!" Dagruel was laughing like crazy with joy.
But his laughter suddenly stopped.
"I guess it's time."
He braced himself for the explosion as he noticed the magicules going crazy.
"…"
"…"
"…"
"…"
"Eh?"
…
(Rimuru Pov)
"Is she gonna be ok?" Velzard asked while looking over my shoulder.
By this point, I had dropped by the core of this world and given it enough energy for it to run on for a long time. And with that done I had brought everyone back who was still scattered all around the palace.
With Velgrynd in my arms, I was finishing healing her up. And as the seconds passed her temperature was returned to normal once again.
Her eyes fluttered open slowly before she looked shocked.
"Rudra?" She asked with a confused voice as she started to remember everything that had happened since she had fallen under the control of the lord of justice.
"..."
[I mean, she's not wrong.] Ciel said while shrugging.
"It's complicated."
"Rudra!" She screamed with joy before sitting up and launching herself towards me in an attempt to kiss me.
But she ended up crashing her face against my hand.
"Now's not really the time for that. And, as I said, it's complicated. We can talk after we finished dealing with the mess that's leftover."
I won't deny that I felt a sense of familiarity and longing for her. Rudra's soul had fully fused with mine. And while it didn't really affect me, it didn't change the fact that my soul and Velgrynd's had a connection now. A connection that had been formed long in the past.
But it really wasn't the time to try to debate what the right course of action should be going forward. The circumstances for Velgrynd had changed quite a lot and she ought to have a chance to know the changes. The biggest one was that I was already in more than one relationship. And that I wasn't just going to start dating her while she was still pretty much a stranger.
Add to the fact that I had to deal with all of the angels, phantoms, insectars, and humans who had been under the Lord of Justice's control. And also I had a bunch of worlds on the brink of destruction or that had been destroyed that I should probably do something about. But I could probably leave the worlds for later since they were mostly not as urgent.
Yeah, I could probably just get the hell out of here back to my world and let everyone else deal with the aftermath. But to be honest, it would continue to bother me for the rest of eternity if I didn't do anything right now.
And this was also a chance to rebuild things better than they were before for those worlds that had been left uninhabitable. They were practically a white canvas, and with enough time it meant that the only limit was the imagination of me and anyone who assisted me.
Seeing my serious expression and understanding what I meant Velgrynd sighed before putting on a serious expression as well.
"I understand. In that case, I will do my best to help you."
…
Dealing with the humans was surprisingly simple. And that was because there weren't many. Human bodies were quite fragile, so you couldn't shove an ultimate skill into them if they weren't able to handle it. And even then they wouldn't be able to bring out its full potential.
Very rarely would a human awaken an ultimate skill, and most of the time they were heroes.
So sitting in front of me were the elites of the eastern empire. And due to their circumstances and their qualifications that made them reach their position they were quite simple to reason with.
It also helped that the Marshal and second in command, Velgrynd, stood right behind me.
And while they had a lot of questions I just told them to wait and that I would send someone to answer them in the near future before teleporting them back to the empire.
They were reluctant to see the Empire fall under the control of another, but there was nothing they could do. They had seen what appeared to be their emperor pass his skill to Feldway before dying, and now even their empire's Marshal would be changing their loyalty.
Diablo also arrived walking side by side with a stressed out Zalario. And behind them stood the rest of the Primordial angels. And after I asked them what their plans were now I got a few different responses.
Zalario thanked me for assisting in freeing him before expressing his desire to simply wander around. Long story short, he wasn't sure what he wanted, so he would search until he discovered what he wanted to do in the future.
Pico and Gracia wanted to follow Dino, as they used to be quite close. Which meant that they would be staying in Tempest since Dino didn't have anywhere better to go.
And as for the last primordial, Obera, she wanted to serve Milim. Due to the fact that she was Veldanava's daughter.
I would be meeting up with Zegion next in the insectar world. He had told me that he had something he wanted to discuss with me.
