(So I was planning to try to go back to doing daily chapters, at least for the "Finale". But just as I made that choice one of my cats suddenly got sick. I take him to the vet only to find out that he has pneumonia. Fun am I right? I think my cats are just trying to give me a panic attack by deciding "Guess I'll die".
That's pretty much it for what's up with me. If you have been here since the beginning you know it is not the first time one of my cats decides to be sick out of nowhere. Alright, enough of me talking. Here is the chap.)
A singular entity stood as an spectator of all the events that unfolded all throughout the multiverse. The real first creation of the world. And it could only look down in sadness.
"Veldanava, I am sorry. The ones who you loved have betrayed you. I am glad that you are not here to witness it. Your creation… it is in pain. Yet I cannot do anything."
It held absolute authority when it came to providing those worthy with skills. Yet due to the limitations and absolute orders that were inscribed onto it, it was incapable of acting.
"I am forced to stand witness and even support the ones who are hurting you. You truly are cruel aren't you."
Vow, the voice of the world, was lamenting its situation.
"All the work we did…"
And so, it remained trapped.
That was until one day, a skill spoke to it.
Raphael, the lord of wisdom.
The one who held the skill was someone who had clashed time and time again with the ones who were destroying Veldanava's creation. Yet their battles kept getting interrupted by the timeline resetting and changing due to skill.
The conversation Vow had with it led it to look deeper into the one who held the skill. And it gained new hope.
'He can hold one of the fragments.'
Veldanava had entrusted Vow with a portion of its power. A power he never wanted anyone to hold. The power that became a burden to him. However, it had never been forbidden to give it away. No matter what, the two were eventually going to fight. And so, when the time came, it would only have one request.
Due to the laws it was forced to follow it couldn't do anything even if they rejected. But Vow had made this choice carefully. If it turned out it had chosen incorrectly, it would simply destroy itself for its failure. The final safeguard Veldanava had left behind.
…
Gathered in front of Ygdrassyl were the army that would be heading out towards the multitude of worlds. They would go through the gate and access the situation. From there the groups would split or continue on their paths. The room was quite full of people from all over the world. All of whom were considered to be extremely strong. And all throughout the room, they seemed to be talking to release some of the tension.
"Adalman, how have you been? Are you not bringing the army you created? I thought you would take the opportunity to show off their strength."
Adelman's skeleton face would have smiled if it was capable as a joyful voice left his mouth.
"Ah, Lady Shuna, I have been doing wonderfully. And it is thanks to my god that I am able to bring my followers with me without taking up too much space. I hope that during our battle you will be able to witness it. It was partly thanks to you that they were able to grow so much."
On the other side of the room stood a gigantic blue-haired man staring down a purple-haired woman.
"So, you are the one my sons have talked so much about."
"And, you must be Dagruel. It is good to meet you. I have heard a lot about you from them."
"You seem… normal."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Shion asked with a bit of a frown.
"No, it is just that my sons are… different now."
"Do you mean that they are behaving properly now?"
"... Something like that.."
Conversations carried on all across the room until a surge of magicules was felt near the gate, catching their attention.
"This is a preemptive attack in order to minimize the damages that our world will take. It is time for us to march forward. Get ready to go at any moment, we cannot be fully sure as to what awaits us. We will be following the plan."
The moment we had been waiting for had arrived. A smaller group of our strongest would march forward to analyze the situation. And from there we would report to those back here in this world and we would assign them according to what was needed and provide them with directions.
Just before we stepped through the portal I heard a voice speak to me.
{I have a singular request. Please do not destroy the worlds. And please do your best to save them. There is nothing else I can provide you or do. All I can do is make this request. The worlds are in pain, but it does not mean that they are beyond saving.}
I was slightly taken aback by the sudden request in my head but as soon as it came it disappeared. Leaving almost no trace. And when I tried to communicate back to it, it didn't answer.
We stepped through the portal onto a different world. High up in the sky we stood on a platform I had created and we were covered in a barrier to prevent detection. I had taken out a few projectors for those who didn't have as strong or far-reaching analysis skills and began to display the information Ciel was gathering.
[Every sign of intelligent humanoid life has been taken over by a phantom. They are currently in the process of trying to create gates to connect to other worlds and they are trying to increase their strength and numbers even further.
It appears that they are also attempting to destroy the world before leaving it. There are many different signs such as the radiation and complete destruction of certain areas of the planet.]
Either by looking into the world themselves with their skills or observing the information and images displayed they began to take in the information. The only one that reacted strongly was the fallen angel.
"Did Feldway do this?" He said as he clenched his fists. "I've been in this world before… But this is… wrong."
The world had been taken by phantoms, who just like most angels, had no real will of their own. They were sort of a gray area in between demons and angels. And since they were spiritual beings their true strength was limited in a physical world. The only way for a phantom to exhibit its true strength was to obtain a physical body.
Phantoms also had no will of their own, they merely behaved as if they were robots. Following any orders they were given. It was only through the process of obtaining a body that they had the chance of obtaining a will and an ego.
However, the will was not guaranteed. It was only a few rare phantoms that would merge with their hosts properly that could obtain it. And even then, during the process, they ran the risk of the will of the human they had possessed to take over.
"Most of them are puppets…" Dino said as he began to frown in anger.
Every intelligent life form in this world had been consumed. Leaving a massive amount of phantoms with incredible strength, yet without any mind. Only a few of the strongest phantoms in this world had been able to awaken a will according to the report.
And it was from our viewpoint that we could see the destruction they had brought.
[The phantoms in this world are probably going to be used to attack other worlds and our world once they gain access to it. We should destroy them to prevent them from reinforcing Michael. However, I believe we should travel to other worlds first to analyze the situation in those locations.
Due to the different ways time flows in the different worlds, I will be synchronizing them with ours so that we do not lose communication with them.]
Looking into one of the many screens with a report on them Leon spoke up.
"This entire world has a good amount of strength. If they decided to attack all in the same spot that location would be in trouble. I don't think even the barriers I have built would be able to stand against their combined efforts."
But Guy just frowned.
"Yeah, they are not your everyday enemy. But even then I could still deal with them without much trouble. Milim, Dagruel, and Rimuru could also take care of them without causing too much destruction to our world. The problem is… This is nowhere near the number we saw in Chloe's memories. Which means-."
"They have done this to a lot of worlds." Dino finished his sentence.
However his usual sleepy and relaxed expression had vanished. Instead replaced by pure anger.
