(I may not have made it clear but Chloe looks like her hero form and not like a child.
Also a bit confusing but Chronoa=Chloe. Don't worry about Manas: Chronoa, unless otherwise specified anytime Chronoa is mentioned is just referring to Chloe's hero title.
Again, confusing things will probably be explained in future chapters. "Trust the process". If there are still questions you can ask them in the comments and I will do my best to answer them.)
(3rd Pov)
After the celebration finished it left only the vampire demon lord and the time hero. They wanted a small moment to catch up, so they were left alone.
"Are you ok Chloe?" Asked Luminous with a concerned expression while placing a hand on her back.
Chloe could only let out a big sigh and she laid down on her old bed that she had used back when she lived in the castle.
"No."
Luminous followed along as she laid down and stared at the ceiling. There was a short moment of silence before Chloe spoke again.
"I am scared...
What if we fail this time. I was so confident about everything, but that was because it was all so far apart. Now that I am here… It is only a matter of time. What if I can't stop it? Do I have to watch everyone die again?"
Chloe put her hand to cover her face and she continued.
"How many times do I have to fail everyone? Before I could be excused since I didn't remember but now I do. I remember everything."
"You haven't failed anyone. You have done a lot when you were acting as the hero Chronoa. If it wasn't for yo-"
"Then why do I keep going back in time? I have thought about it, there must be a reason. Every single time I went back it was a huge war that would destroy everything. So my goal must be to stop that. Right? But I don't know how. I thought that I would be able to figure it out once I was here but all that did was make me realize just how powerless I am.
Even if I ran directly to fight him it wouldn't mean anything. I wouldn't even be able to touch him with his stupid defense. Plus he has Velgrynd under his control as if he himself wasn't a big enough pain to deal with."
"You don't have to do this by yourself, you know. I am more than willing to go with you, and I am sure that if you asked-" But she trailed off at the end while watching her crumbling expression.
"I don't want to see anyone die again. I am tired of it."
"Chloe…" Luminous expression becomes stern. "You have made a difference. Guy Crimson is currently staying in Tempest. From what I have heard he is an ally and not an enemy. This isn't a 1 vs 1 vs 1, it's a 2 vs 1."
Luminous stood up and crossed her arms, with a determined tone continued.
"You didn't tell me too much about the future, but you must be able to tell the difference you have made. I won't have you talk bad about yourself."
At that moment Chloe froze, she began to piece her memories again. The sudden influx of remembering several lifetimes' worth of memories had not allowed her to focus. Add to that the stress she had from feeling as if she was going to fail again.
It was then she remembered being in Jistav. The souls of the long-dead elves were brought back and placed into new bodies. Was that the use of Ngyr-Korath? No, that can't be right. When Rimuru had used that skill in a previous loop it was different. It certainly wasn't as serene a process as it was in Jistav.
And after Jistav…. Eurazania. Memories of that day flooded her mind as she stood up with an excited expression. She had never seen anything like it before. And it was all done so casually, which meant...
"I- I did make a difference!" Chloe spoke energetically.
Luminous smiled, and at that very moment, Luminous got a mental communication message.
"Then let's get to work."
....
They teleported to the capitol building of Tempest only to be directed to the Labyrinth. On the way up they saw people rushing left and right all over the place in a hurry. Standing out among them was a dark-haired butler.
"It has been a long time since we last saw each other, Miss Chronoa. It is good to see you are back to your normal body. Have you grown tired of trying to seduce my lord with your childish body and finally returned to your heroic self?" Diablo said with a slight smile.
Yet he was only greeted by slightly annoying expressions.
"*Cough cough* I apologize. I was trying to lighten the mood. I have never had to comfort anyone so I am still inexperienced. I will have to practice it in case my lord ever requires my assistance if he is ever sad. After speaking to my lord I thought that if you were in a happier mood he would also be happier."
"I guess you never change." This did get a slight chuckle from Chloe.
"Follow me, my lord has been expecting you."
Diablo led the two of them to a huge meeting room where they were greeted by many different people. In the room, all of the primordials were gathered. In fact, not only were the primordials here but every single demon lord was present. Velzard and Velodora were also present in this meeting room.
The room was big yet simple, on it was only a large circular table with chairs in which the strongest people in the world were all gathered. When they entered everyone turned to look at them.
Among them, the only one that reacted was the Platinum Saber, Leon Cromwell. His eyes widened with recognition. He stood up from his chair and with a shaky voice, he said.
"Is that really you, Chloe?"
"Leon, it has been a long time." she answered with a slight smile.
The ex-hero was about to run up to her, his childhood friend he had been looking for all this time. When he felt himself not being able to move.
"I apologize for the inconvenience, however, we are currently in a situation that will decide the fate of the world. You will have as much time to catch up once we have dealt with this problem."
The voice who spoke was the one who had called this meeting, the leader of the empire who had popped out of nowhere. An empire that in just three years had grown to take up two-thirds of the continent. The emperor of Tempest.
"Well then, now that everyone is gathered. Let this Walpurgis begin."
...
(1st pov)
"I must thank you all for coming here at such short notice."
In truth, I wasn't expecting such short notice myself. When I had asked Diablo to call a Walpurgis I expected we would have to wait at the very least a few days. Yet Diablo was the type of person who would do anything you asked him to the best of his capabilities. So in just a few hours after the celebration had ended every demon lord found themselves in Tempest.
The reason for this was that I would no longer underestimate my enemies. If there was even the slightest chance I would lead everyone to their deaths by trying to do this by myself I would be breaking my promise. So I was going to bring together every single person who could be of help.
And well, even if I wanted to teleport to Rudra's castle and immediately kill him that would no longer be an option. After all, he had left this world and it would take some time to track him down.
"And as I have already mentioned this is to talk about something that could lead to the destruction of our world."
I turned to look towards Chloe and I said.
"In fact, it has already led to it. Time and time again. The reason for this is due to the skill Michael, Lord of Justice."
The usually sleepy Dino suddenly perked up as he heard those words.
"The angels?" he asked
Dagruel narrowed his eyes as he said.
"Are you talking about the attack from the angels? They only target civilizations that have advanced their technology past a certain point. And they do not mean the destruction of the world. They show up every 500 years, make a mess, then leave. It is just a part of this world. Is this really why you called us with such urgency?"
Guy gave me a look for a moment and then put on a serious expression.
"Dagruel, I will vouch for whatever Rimuru says, I trust him. For now, let us continue to listen."
"No, the angels are not the reason for this meeting. I mean the actual skill that calls them forth. Michael, Lord of Justice.
The owner of which is the leader of the eastern empire, Michael."
Leon, who was annoyed because he was not able to reunite properly with his long-lost friend, spoke.
"The leader of the Eastern Empire is named Rudra Nam Ul Nasca. Not Michael."
"You are both half-right and half-wrong, however, the real leader of the empire is no longer Rudra. It is Michael, the Lord of Justice."
