Chapter 62 - Diablo's Recruitment.

(Sort of a side chapter but not really)

"Kufufufufufu"

Diablo was standing in front of a yellow-haired woman with some small injuries that were healing at an extremely fast rate. The environment was strange and unfamiliar. They were in the spirit world.

"If you continue to waste my time I won't be gentle anymore. I wish to get back to my lord as fast as possible. If you make me miss something important my lord does I promise I will find a way to kill you forever. Primordial or not."

The yellow-haired demon stood up and fixed her clothing. In just a few moments the disheveled appearance returned to her previous look.

"Noir, why are you being such a pain? Can't you see I am busy messing with Leon? You are gonna make me late for my daily nuke attack. I don't wanna join some rando that just popped out of nowhere. Honestly, I don't know why you are serving someone."

Diablo's face turned into a frown.

"My lord has given me a name, Diablo, do not call me Noir anymore. Jaune, I will forgive your insult to my lord if you agree to follow me to serve my lord at this moment. I am sure that if you impress my lord he will give you a name just as he gave me."

Jaune gave a shocked expression at discovering that someone had actually granted Noir a name. Who would be crazy enough to risk naming a primordial, and who would be crazy enough to name more than one? Maybe that person would be interesting. But before she decided to meet him she wanted to have a little fun. She began to secretly prepare an attack and once it was ready she spoke with a wide grin.

"You know, I might be willing to meet up with that guy. But if he is too boring I might kill him, Noir."

And at that moment she launched a massive nuclear attack, it was strong enough to destabilize the space all around it and it brought guaranteed destruction to everything in its path. Diablo was covered by the light yet after the effect of the spell disappeared it revealed that he had been completely unaffected.

The very next moment she felt a hand around her neck.

"Kufufufufufu. If you embarrass me in front of my lord that would be my biggest shame. Let me make sure you know how to behave."

Holding onto Jaune he launched her with all of his strength through a mountain, destroying it. Jaune continued to ragdoll through the ground before she was able to stabilize herself and stop herself from moving.

She aimed several new attacks at Diablo but they were all slapped away as if they were nothing.

"This is just sad, Jaune. I know you are bored but you should learn to pick your fights better."

"Shut up. Gravity Collapse"

The environment all around them began to vibrate as rocks began to float off the ground. This was the strongest type of nuclear magic. Everything in the affected region would get crushed by its own weight. And complete destruction of the area would occur. Jaune was willing to let this attack go rampant just to have a chance at hurting Diablo and maybe have a chance to retreat.

"No."

But once Diablo spoke the area became stable once again.

Jaune clicked her tongue, she knew that magic would be hard to use against Diablo, so she decided to try her own physical strength. But her punches would continually get blocked and redirected. With every kick, her leg would be grabbed and Diablo would slam her on the ground. With every punch, she would get a backhand slap that would push her back.

One thing was to fight and another would be to just get disrespected like this. So she was about to try to take a "tactical retreat" and run away. But when she tried to move she noticed the massive formation they were in.

"This is… holy magic. But how?"

Diablo was in front of her and he had a slight smirk on his face.

"I have absolute faith in my lord. If I can't do something as simple as using the holy magic my Lord provides then how can I call myself his servant. Miss Shuna, truly a woman worthy of standing by my lord's side. She was the one who created this spell, so I hope you enjoy its effects."

Now Jaune was beginning to feel worried. She was trapped in the spell formation with no way to escape and judging by the amount of holy energy beginning to appear near her she knew this wouldn't be pleasant.

"Wait!"

But it was too late, some screams were heard before Diablo moved to his next location.

"Oh hello Noir, it has been a-"

Violet, the Violet primordial, went to greet Diablo when she felt his presence but was a bit shocked by what she saw. Diablo was holding an unconscious Jaune by the neck of her clothing. Jaune was healing extremely slowly and she seemed unable to regain her consciousness.

Violet stood up straight and with a stiff and nervous expression, she asked him.

"Eh… I haven't done anything to get you mad right? I have been good right? Come in, come in, you can tell me what you need."

"The name is Diablo, not Noir. There is no need to delay anything. I want you to become my lord's servant. So bring your best servants and follow me."

"Becoming someone's servant why would i-"

She tried to speak but when she saw the expression of Diablo changed she changed her next words.

"-reject such a wonderful idea… It will take me some time to gather anyone. Is there anywhere I can meet you after I am done?"

Diablo gave a small nod of approval at her words.

"I have to meet Blanc, but I will be back soon."

Diablo threw Jaune at Violet's feet before he said.

"Make sure she also gathers her strongest people by the time I am back. We will leave to meet my lord soon."

And with those words, Diablo disappeared.

Violet looked down at Jaune. She was her rival but she couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for her. She kneeled down and poked her cheek.

"Noir has really lost it now…"

As primordials, they stood at the top of the food chain. No matter who they faced they would always be able to find a way to defeat them. Only when fighting against other primordials did they stand a chance of not winning, yet most of the time they would have drawn. There were only two exceptions to the rule, Guy and Diablo.

To the primordials, as long as they didn't bother Guy they would never start a fight. He saw everyone as beneath him so he never bothered to fight anyone. But Diablo was a wild cannon. He would do whatever he wanted and without reason. Now he had suddenly decided to serve under someone.

The primordials would never fear anyone… But Diablo… he scared them. The only real exception to this would be Guy and Blanc. Guy was the only person to ever tie with Diablo, so they stood as equals. And that was long before Guy became a demon lord. As for Blanc, she was similar to Diablo so it was hard to tell what she felt.

Violet continued to look at Jaune's wounds that were starting to heal faster now.

"He's really lost it."

....

The last person Diablo had to meet was the white primordial. She was an elegant and refined woman. She acted like a refined noblewoman. Her actions were filled with elegance.

"Noir, how long has it been since your last visit?"

"My name is Diablo now. And the reason for my visit is to ask you to become my lord's servant."

Blanc raised an eyebrow.

"Diablo? And a lord? It really has been a long time. Is he interesting? Strong?"

"Would I follow him if he wasn't? My lord has no equal."

Blanc let out a soft laugh.

"I guess it would be interesting. I have nothing else to do, so why not. I will give him a chance but don't expect me to serve him if I don't like him. If he isn't interested I will leave."

"That is more than enough. All it takes is one meeting and you will see it yourself. Bring your best servants. We will meet up at Violet's territory, I will go pick up my own servants."

"What's your lord's name?"

"Rimuru Tempest."

"The leader of the new empire that popped out of nowhere?"

"Indeed." Diablo nodded.

"Well, if it ends up being a waste of time you owe me one."

Diablo let out a small laugh and said one last thing before leaving to grab his servants.

"Sure."
