Chapter 2 - Caine Reynard

Caine is a 27 year old male who grew up in a harsh environment.

He was abandoned at birth and was raised at an orphanage where he had to survive in on a bread slice a day. This orphanage was in the slums and fights were common.

At the age of 17 he moved out and lived on his own. He got a part time job.

At the age of 19 Caine realized that there was something wrong with him. He noticed that he couldn't have fun like other people. He was overcome with absolute boredom. And he lived his life up until now that way. Bored and alone.

Caine had quite a bit of money saved up since

He only spent the money he earned on the bare minimum, and sometimes less than that.

But then he heard about the new game, World X. For some reason he felt like he had to buy it. So that's what he did.

As soon as Caine got home he put the helmet on his head and started the game.

When he opened his eyes his eyes he was in a pure white room with a sing screen in front of him.

It read 'Choose a username'.

Caine pondered on it shortly then decided to just use his regular name.

'Ding'

[Hello Caine welcome to World X, the new world]

As soon as he finished reading the text that appeared in the side of his vision he passed out.

When he opened his eyes he was no longer in the pure white room but on a giant cliff with rocks at the bottom.

The wind was blowing. It felt so real. He looked down at the bottom of the cliff. Not even scared that he was on the edge like the average person would be. He was still expressionless.

'I wonder what would happen if I jumped off'

After standing at the same spot for a moment he started walking away from the edge of the cliff.

Only to start sprinting back towards it and leaping off of the cliff.

He was falling with his arms at his sides so that his body kind of resembled a 'T'. The wind was blowing at his face and he could feel his stomach drop. If he was being honest with himself, this was terrifying. Yet the corners of his mouth slightly tugged upwards.

Soon he hit the ground.

'Ding'

[You Died]

This was both the first time he died and smiled ever in his 27 years of living.
