Chapter 14 - Dragon Claw, Tigers Paw

As he walked towards the sect's Script Pagoda, his outer sect uniform billowed in the wind. The tan coat flowed and swirled as he was lost in thought.

His thoughts were focused on what skills to exchange for once he got there. Within a few minutes, he was there looking at the grandiose Pagoda in front of him. The Pagoda was made on an ancient wood and stood 7 stories tall.

The 1st and 2nd layers were for the Outer Sect, 3rd and 4th for the Inner Sect, and 5th and 6th were for the Core Disciples.

The 7th layer was specifically for elders and legacy disciples.

Once he strolled in, he noticed a female elder watching over the premises. After greeting the elder and asking about Prana Techniques, he was directed to the Low-Ranked Earth Prana Techniques and Body Cultivation Manuals.

As he perused from shelf to shelf he noticed a few that he liked. The Iron Temple Stratagem which was the Earth grade version of the Iron Temple Treasury Technique, The Dragon Subduing Manual which was to cultivate Dragon Qi within the body as well as Yang Flames, and The Six Paths of Lingxiao Scripture which used the six desires to refine the body.

After careful thought, he decided to go with The Dragon Subduing Manual due to it being of the Fire and Metal attributes of the 5 elements. Which were best for him in terms of strengthening his body.

As he selected The Dragon Subduing Manual, he noticed it had cost him 600 contribution points so he would have to find a decent Earth Prana Fighting Technique with his remainder.

Most disciples would have liked to train Prana Techniques but many just didn't have the talent for it. Though Prana Techniques were strong, their range has remained remarkably smaller than Qi Techniques.

Most Prana Techniques exhibited their full potential in melee combat.

.........

Madlenkosi carefully scrutinized every Prana Technique he came across due to him wanting to get a technique that had a complementary movement skill.

Basically getting two skills for the price of one.

Prana and Qi categories both had movement techniques. These skills increased one's agility and speed, easily being able to travel hundreds of kilometers in a day.

As he came to the ending of the skills within his price range he was able to find a Manual with both fist and movement techniques.

The Technique was named the Dragon and Tiger Overlord Fist. It was a melee to mid-range Prana technique which came with its complementary footwork.

As he selected the techniques, he took them to the female elder which left him with 100 contribution points.

As he looked at his sect token and his meager contributions, he then made his way towards the Alchemy Hall as he exchanged for 2 Qi Cultivation Pills and 3 Qi replenishing pills at the counter.

He was planning to go in closed-door cultivation since he had to change his Body Cultivation skill and practice a new fist technique as well as practice his movement skill.

Once he reached his courtyard, he was greeted by the worker's disciples. He then alerted them that he'll be going into seclusion to cultivate.

After he got into his cultivation room he was able to bathe and clean himself before placing on an ordinary uniform and loose robe.

The first thing he did was change his Body Cultivation Manual to The Dragon Subduing Manual.

As he did this he could tell that his speed in producing and converting Prana made a massive leap forward.

After circulating it day after day, he was able to smoothly transition from the Iron Temple Treasury Technique to The Dragon Subduing Manual as well as breakthrough the first 3 layers of the technique.

In the first layer of the technique, he was able to have trace amounts of Dragon Qi within his Prana Heart which left a trace of gold within his ruby-red Prana.

When the 3rd layer is reached the cultivator can use far more Dragon Qi and can summon the Dragon Scale Armor, which created small but beautiful dragon-scale-like patterns on the skin. This was an inherent defensive technique of the Manual.

When the 5th Layer was reached the cultivator was able to transmute small amounts of their Dragon Qi into Yang flames to help fortify and refine the body.

And at the 7th and last layer of The Dragon Subduing Manual, a cultivator could use Yang Flames freely either to attack or defend as well and being immune to fire and frost.

..........

As he stood and stared and the ruby-gold-like scales shimmering across his body as it left his face untouched, only three small scales neatly adorned on the outer corners of his eyes could be noticed.

He grasped his fist which now had small nail-like claws as he felt his offensive strength climb slightly. His body could now bear more of the strain his strength place on it, pushing his overall strength to 40 Elephants.

Madlenkosi retracted the Dragon Scale Armor as he began to practice his Dragon and Tiger Overlord Fist.

This Fist Technique was made up of 4 Fighting techniques and 2 movement techniques.

The 4 fighting techniques were:

Fierce Tiger Slams Paw; A Palm technique that sought to transfer Prana into the opponent thus shocking their internal organs.

Tiger Steals Heart; A Claw Technique aimed to maim, tear and lacerate.

White Dragon Moves The Sky; A Claw Technique which was a melee or mid-range skill that emphasized sharpness and speed.

Advent of the Overlord, a melee or midrange Fist Technique.

It sought to rule both Dragon and Tiger alike through pure domination and subjugation.

As he continued to read the fighting techniques he went to the courtyard and began to slowly practice them. A week and a half had passed and it was time to move around a bit.

As he moved from one move to the next each move was exponentially more powerful than the one which preceded it.

The worker disciples all stopped what they were doing and stared in shock.

Once Advent of the Overlord was executed... anything and everything within range was decimated, a swirl of Prana lifted everything nearby.

Even the lake water was all thrown airborne as pure chaos reigned.

Worker disciples clung to wooden rails around the courtyard as they feared for their lives, as even they too were thrown into the air.

As the Prana around him slowed to a halt, he looked around at the destruction he caused as he gaped in shock.

His fist was still in the position of the punch he just threw, not being able to comprehend how such force was generated.

As he stared at the now wretched-looking worker disciples, he apologized as he dashed into his quarters as he ran from the stares and strange looks everyone threw his way...
