Someone passing by, seemed to guess what Lich was thinking.
"I have seen that look before. You want to know the point of these quest sheets right?"
"Yes I do. It doesn't make sense that you need to waste the paper if you can just auto get the quest with the system."
Following the man Lich ended up in an area of the store that was just a long hallway with doors. The man put the sheet of paper with the quest listing on one of the doors. The paper then shine brightly and the door opened.
"Now this door leads to a quest area that you can do a scavenger hunt in. So as you can tell, the paper is used more as a way to get to the quest than actually telling you what the quest is."
Getting back to work, Lich noticed that his system did something similar by leading him to where he needed to go. Then the coupon he was using was treating the whole server he was in as a quest location.
'I wonder what is stronger. The quest paper that creates a small dimension to do a quest, or the coupon that treats this dimension in a similar way.'
...
"The last coupon that doesn't have a second mini-flyer. Seeing this was the Cursed Item one, I wonder if I will get the Curse element shop."
Falling through the portal, Lich ended up in a shop that could be described with one word, tacky. The shop seemed to be design by someone who spent way too much time in a Halloween store.
[G0 Paranormal Investigator Quest: Watch 1000 Clips of Paranormal Activity]
"...what does it mean by paranormal activity."
The first few clips Lich saw made him chuckle. Most of the time it was either an unbalanced cup falling like it should or one of the people in the video making a mistake and freaking out thinking it was a ghost.
However as Lich started the later quests, he notice that the clips were harder to explain. By the end of it, he was freaked out about ghost, seemingly forgetting he was a Lich.
As Lich finish watching the clips, a somewhat chubby man with a beard came up and started to speak with him.
"Are you a believer now? Thanks for watching those clips, the more you know the better you will be prepared to take on some ghosts."
After the man walked off Lich felt something off. Then his fear of ghosts left him as he stated in a whisper. "Wait, I am a Lich. They should be scared of me and not the other way around."
Seeing that he still didn't get a notification for getting all of the second boxes of the coupons filled, he started to scratch the third box of a random coupon.
...
Looking around, Lich noticed he was in a forest. He was also bigger and had more hair over his body.
[G0 Ape Quest: Swing on 1000 Vines]
"Oh, that explains a lot of my questions. So I just swing on some vines. But one small problem, where are said vines at?"
After waiting till he got bored, Lich wanted to see if a vine would appear if he just jumped and pretended he was on a vine. Luckily for him, a vine did appear and he started to swing around aimlessly.
Looking down caused Lich to gulp hard. He couldn't see the ground. If he was wrong about the vine, he might of plummeted to his death.
Swinging from vine to vine caused a weird feeling of freedom to appear within him. He forgot all about everyone he talked with before. He forgot about Paths and Laws. He even forgot about the system, until it sounded off louder in his head causing him to slam into a tree.
"Ow, why did it feel like my skull shook. How loud was that notification."
Lich looking at the system screen caused him to take a deep breath. It seemed that this was the tenth time the notification went off to tell him , he finished. His body started to shift back into his human body. After a few seconds Lich started to sweat heavily.
'If i turned back into human while swinging, would I just plummet to my death. I am glad it waiting till I was on flat ground to change me back.'
...
Instead of being in a shop or out in the wilds, Lich was in a dojo.
"Welcome to the training hall of the Dual Wield Path. Grab your self two Eskrima sticks. You just need to do this exercise and if it fits the required skill level it will be recorded into a skill scroll."
On one of the walls was a giant television. After watching the exercise a few times, Lich started to do the exercise. After doing it ten times, Lich was notified he created a skill scroll, despite not seeing it.
Going again, Lich learned after doing the exercise ten times, a scroll appeared. Each quest requires 1000 scrolls and there were 10 quests. So Lich needed to do the exercise 100,000.
"I am so glad I don't have a fatigue bar. This would end up taking me months to complete."
After a few repetitions, Lich seemed to zone out and repeat the exercise without thinking. One of the other employees walking by was mesmerize by Lich's hard working spirit. Till he notice that Lich didn't seem to be breathing.
The shop owner had to step in and stop the employee from interfering with Lich.
"But sir, he isn't breathing!"
"Of course he isn't. But seeing how he hasn't dropped yet, it is fine."
The employee went back to doing his exercise, but was facing Lich in case Lich passed out.
Oblivious to all this, Lich was daydreaming about spending time with...
'Wait, why does my chest hurt? Oh, shit I need to breathe.'
As Lich became aware of himself, he started to mess up his exercise and took a break after not being able to get a scroll even after doing the exercise 20 times.
While he was taking a break another person, who was the one worried about him, walked up to him.
"Hey you seem to be pretty at this exercise, are you the Dual Wield Champion? Oh I should introduce myself first. I am Krow, I am the Warfare champion. By warfare I mean complete war. Like the War Games Path but less game."
"I am just good at dissociating, once I got the rhythm of it my mind just went elsewhere. I am Lich. Similar to you I am also like a path, the Necromancer Path but more or less undead I guess? I haven't really been making undead in such a long time but I have noticed I am not really living either."
"Ah, that is why you stopped breathing for hours and kept standing. Lich's should be great at warfare. I think we should add each other to the friend lists."
As they shook hands, they were able to be added to each others friends list.
After talking for a bit, they got back to doing the exercise.
...
Finishing the Dual Wield Path, Lich scratched another coupon and ended up in a shop full of books.
[G0 Mutant:Witch Quest: Stock 1000 Books]
"Mutant witches? I remember the name but I don't know what I did while it. Now that I think back, a lot of the things I did between the G rank to right before I woke up at the Gym Rat Path is foggy. My memory is failing me for some reason. But why?"
Opening the book Lich read about the Mutant:Witch. He didn't do this with the Zombie or Vampire as he knew what they were and did. This was the first monster he had no idea of. Unless it was just a witch, but there is no reason to put the mutant part in front of it.
'The specialty of the Mutant:Witch is potion craft? Then what do alchemist and normal witches make? The potions of the Mutant:Witch are superior than what any others can make. The reason being the cyst of the Mutant:Witch'
Reading further made Lich start to gag. Getting a hold of himself he re-read the part that made him sick.
'Scratching the cyst, that they can grow on command, releases a special liquid they use in potion making. Though disgusting, the liquid from the cyst lets the potions made by the Mutant:Witch to never fail or expire.'
The rest of the book was facts and history of the Mutant:Witch. Back on the old servers, the Mutant:Witch almost went extinct as people hunted them down and kept them as slaves. Most ended up dying from sudden cardiac death, as they were forced to produce the cyst liquid without rest or food.
After spending awhile stocking the books, Lich went to the next shop.
