Chapter 7 - Chapter 7

The afterlife, what is it like? Standing on clouds and boot licking people you will never meet or is it being locked up in a jail cell for crimes ranging from serial killers to looking different. Maybe after you die you get to come back to life richer or stronger, hell maybe even becoming a flower that doesn't have to worry about taxes.

Well I guess it is time to find out. Any second now I will get pull out of this pit of zombie guts and continue my journey. Wait, do grim reapers have to dig me out first? I thought cause they were spirits they could phase past the zombie corpses and get me. Huh? I can move still? Am I not dead?

The entrance to the spirit realm on this planet is rather calm compared to others. A pit filled with spiritual water is placed under the pitfall door. This allows new entrees to bathe in spirit water letting them see the senior spirits that can help them to the next destination.

Dying isn't needed and can only happen in the first hour after entering. Throughout the history of this spirit realm none who has entered ever died. But if they knew that dying here allows them to get a special constitution, would they have tried it out.

"With this last task, I will get the last bit of info needed to 100% the info gathering achievement and will finally get to leave. How many centuries has it been."

Walking down a path lit with torches was a young man in a business suit and glasses. In his hand was a tablet with a program called 'Quest Assistance'.

'Hello user! Those old men finally offered the sacred scrolls USB. It only took till 'Quest 1 Trillion' but hey it is going to happen! Just this last thing to do.'

[A VVIP member has arrived. As the best in-training info broker lead them forward.]

"This sounds way to simple. This smells fishy."

'Actual user! This smell is rotten corpses. As we are almost at the entrance maybe the VVIP is fighting zombies and cause you took a 25hour break to try and steal the USB maybe they will die and you will fail. Good luck!'

As he reached the quest location he immediately started to hurl.

The once pristine pit of spirit water was contaminated with countless rotten corpses. After emptying his stomach and composing himself a hand shot out and grabbed the edge of the pit. A gray haired corpse that has yet to rot pulled itself out. Covered in blood and random pieces of organs with its deep blue eyes made the young looking info broker scream at the top of his lungs.

...

I have been climbing for a day I think. Maybe if I made less zombies I could of gotten out faster. "Hmm the zombie on top feels like its the last one."

As I finally get out of this pit filled with rotten flesh and blood, I hear this high pitch scream.

Thinking that some lost child found me coming out of this pit of dead bodies I tried to helpfully quell their fears but my eyes hasn't adjusted yet so who knows how far the child has gone. I will just yell and hope they can hear me. The scream was high pitched so a girl right?

...

"Hey little girl no need to cry! This brother here isn't a zombie."

The gray haired corpse thinking that sentence helped thought to smile to look less scary.

'User haha! This must be the VVIP. This will be a tough one, not only did they mock your scream, look at that grin! They are mocking you hardcore.'

Before the info broker could yell and curse at the VVIP a new quest update appeared.

[Introduce yourself and lead Lich to a place to bathe.]

"Hello uh Sir? Lich I will be giving you a tour of the spirit realm. The first spot is the most famous hot springs this place has to offer. My name isn't important but you can call me Rooster."

The man calling himself Rooster is olive-skinned and had a black colored rooster cut hair.

Hearing the voice Lich knew that it was a guy and that Rooster took offense to what was said earlier.

"Sorry about that Rooster, I did not mean any offense I must have something something in my ear to miss gender you by your voice."

As Lich said that a finger happen to fall down from their ear. After a awkward silence they both started to laugh.

"It is fine, let's go to that hot springs though. Because it is hard to talk without almost throwing up here."

As they left, with Rooster a few meters in front of Lich as to distance away from the smell, neither realized all the corpses near and in the pit started to sink down rapidly. Fusing together they finally turned into a white orb that sped up and flew into Lich's back.

Feeling something hit their back, Lich turned around and looked down the passage. "Are the zombies, ghost's trying to eat me or something again?"

Reaching the hot springs Rooster realized an issue. 'Wait Lich is covered with blood and smells horrible will they even let us in? Am I going to fail my quest?'

Those thoughts however, turned out to not matter as once Lich's body was visible to the front desk many attendants raced out to them.

"Esteemed Elder! We have felt your arrive and your personal hot spring has been prepared. The lift in the shop will take you up to it."

Rooster stood with a drop jaw as he thought this has never happen before. Even though they are attendants, his sources told him they were actually S-9 grade. So to them, who haven't even learned any laws past G , should be viewed lower then cockroaches.

"Slave of the great elder here is a Communication Law device. Use it to contact us if the elder happens to need anything."

Feeling slighted, Rooster wanted to talk back but then realized he could study the device and increase his database of information. Being a S grade device it far surpasses what he thought he would ever get to see personally in a place like this.

Riding the lift up to the top of the underground mountain Rooster started talking out loud to himself.

"All the years I spent down here the lift was always under maintenance or heavily guarded. Who would of thought it was to a secret hot springs."

Then Rooster took a look at the still blood covered person beside him.

"If you don't mind me asking, do you know why they showed such passion for you to be here? I mean if I was running a hot springs and people showed up drenched in blood I wouldn't let them in. Let alone lead them to my best hot springs."

Thinking for a bit with a serious face Lich smiled and said " Maybe they saw how handsome my multi colored eyes were and memorized, lead me to the best place without charging any money?"

Hearing something off, Rooster looked Lich in the face. "But your eyes are blue? Why do you think they are multi colored?"

Lich's face went blank. "Lend me your tablet so I can check my face."

Before Rooster could mention that the tablet was part of his 'Golden Finger' and no one else could touch it, he heard Lich say 'yionk' as the tablet left his hands. Rooster was surprised! 'How in the hell did Lich grab that no one should be able to. Huh? Wait... Lich's hands are still covered in blood!'

"You little bastard don't get that dirty!" Trying to grab back his tablet he didn't think Lich would fight back. But the two bloody boots that flew at his face proved him wrong. Almost getting pushed off the lift at such a high place Rooster started to sweat "Okay! You can borrow it please stop!" ...tears started to fall from his eyes.

Seeing the crying Rooster, Lich felt a bit bad. "After I see my face I'll hand it back."

Getting the camera open on the tablet Lich spent a good bit looking at their eyes.

'Why are they blue again? I spent so long looking for a purple and orange eyes. Should I try to hunt some down again? Hmm that sounds like to much work. I will deal with that later. The more pressing matter is why there is no sticky notes here.'

After handing back Rooster his tablet, Lich started to think about what to do next. 'This guy said he is going to give me a tour. Maybe the sticky note lead me to him, to show me what to do next? But if that was the case then he would of had a sticky note on him. So I guess this place is where I was to suppose to head to? Or was it I needed to die to continue?'

The lift stopped at the top of the mountain.
