Silver stood on top of a small pond. She looked like a genuine water elemental as her hair blew in the cool gentle breeze. She tapped the tip of her boots on the water's surface, and two lances of water shot out, striking a tree not far from the water's edge. She waved her hand as a wave of water was raised. The wave froze over, forming a shield in front of her. She dispelled all of her magic and repeated the training.
It had been nearly a full day since Silver consumed the Ice Empress Lotus. After talking with Crystal about water magic, she found it to be more "user-friendly" than her shadows. It was easier to control, but a tad bit weaker than her shadows. She had been performing this exercise nearly all day. For hours, she would stand atop the pond and use subtle movements to manipulate the water beneath her. Silver's Water Magic level was reaching the peak of the beginner tier, and she wanted to be rid of Crystal as soon as possible. Being around her was taxing on one's mind.
.....
After a couple more hours, she stomped her foot down hard, causing the water's surface to ripple. Each ripple rose from the lake, forming waves. The waves crashed against the surrounding trees and Silver smirked to herself. 'Finally done. So annoying.' She began walking when she heard a Ding go off in her head.
*DING* "Player has become extremely thirsty. All stats have been reduced by 50%, and blood magic is ineffective. Consuming blood will reverse this effect."
Silver sighed, hoping that she had some more time. She summoned the vial of Divine's blood and drank it in one gulp. A soothing calm taste entered her mouth, and she smiled warmly. 'Divine's blood tasted like orange cream. I would not mind drinking it forever.' She smiled
*DING* "Player has consumed blood for the first time. Effects of thirst weakness has been removed."
*DING* "Player has unlocked the ability to turn other's into vampires. Having someone drink your blood, and then die will result in changing their race to 'Fledgling Vampire'."
Silver's eyes widened as she read the notification. 'This is. This is how you turn someone in real life. How did they. I hope it's merely a coincidence..' She shook her head. 'Lots of legends explain this way of turning someone. It's probably a coincidence. I won't worry too much about it.'
.....
Silver entered Crystal's work space. While Krelxia's looked like a small neat office, Crystal's work space was cluttered, and seemingly disorganized. It looked like a tornado had ran through. Somehow, Crystal always knew where something would be, despite the floor being littered with countless items, from clothes to documents.
When she entered, Crystal was sitting on the floor reading something. Silver spoke calmly. "Crystal, I have reached the peak of the beginner tier. Let's get this over with, so I can get back to adventuring." Silver was curt with Crystal. Over time, she had learned how to manage around Crystal. Silver learned that Crystal loved cute things, and seemingly lost herself when she saw cute things. Being around her was still taxing. You never knew when she was going to enter a weird mood and hug you. Her personality could be described with one word-she was a mess.
Crystal nodded and instructed Silver to lie down. Once she was lying down, Krelxia entered the room. Crystal and Krelxia both stimulated their mana, and the water mana mixed with shadow. The mixture entered Silver's mana core seamlessly. Krelxia's mana was required because it was the catalyst used to form Silver's mana core. A person can only have one Mana core, and any more would place too much strain on the body. Krelxia's mana made it easier for Crystal's to enter her mana core, as her mana already had a "connection" with Silver.
Silver stood up and flexed her fingers. Ice formed around her left arm, while Crimson Shadows flowed from her right. She smiled. "It was a success. Thank you both for your help. I won't ever forget what you guys have done for me."
Krelxia smiled and simply nodded, while Crystal squealed, and pulled Silver into a hug. She spoke like a doting mother watching her child leave home for the first time. "Now Silver. Make sure you come and visit, kay? Oh, and be safe please!" She continued yelling about being safe and coming "home" until Silver was outside of the hall.
Silver quickly ran away from Jestal. She messaged Tora and Divine to find out where they were and what level they were at. Tora was the only one to respond. He only sent
coordinates and one word. "Trouble".
.....
Earlier that day:
Argent was speaking with Faux, the leader of Valiant Widowmakers.
Argent spoke angrily. "What do you mean you don't care that Silver Moon is causing a mess in your town?"
Faux sighed. "She's well beyond anyone's ability to fight her on equal terms. We'd need probably over 30 members, and even then we would sustain heavy losses. Not to mention what kind of consequence we would have coming our way. She's too powerful for any of us to do anything. I suggest that you avoid her like the plague."
Argent was shocked. 30 players to kill one girl? He couldn't believe it. "That's crazy! there's no way she's that powerful!"
Faux slammed his fist on the desk and scowled at Argent. "You idiot! Did you not hear what she was able to do to me?! She threw me out of an inn without batting an eye! I was powerless to stop her, and I could do nothing to break free! Me! The guild leader of Valiant Widowmakers. What can you? A mere ant do to her! Nothing!" He took a deep breath and looked at Argent. "If you're stupid, you'll continue pursuing her. I am not a fool, and I won't endanger my guild members that way, so I'm leaving the city. As she had so 'kindly' advised."
Argent looked surprised at first, but that surprise turned into dejection. He began leaving before Faux said one more thing. "The only thing I can tell you, is that you'd be an idiot to even scheme against her. Make the right choice. If you make the wrong one, you'll have to suffer the consequences."
.....
Tora and Divine were being assaulted by a seemingly endless army of zombies. The zombies themselves were extremely weak, but there were hundreds of them.
Tora had just blocked a hit when Divine stabbed into it's brain, killing it instantly. He spoke. "Where did these damn things come from? They just keep coming after us!"
Divine spoke tiredly, she was worn out after fighting for hours. "I don't know. Did you get ahold of Silver? We could really use her help here!"
Tora nodded as he blocked another hit and slashed outwards with his short sword. "Yeah, I did. She should be here any moment now".
As if on cue, Silver appeared in front of Tora, Blocking a strike with her scythe. She swiped it outwards, directly cutting four zombies in half and buying some time to speak. She spoke in a serious tone, her gaze locked onto the zombies. "Do you have any idea where these things came from?"
Tora shook his head. "No, but man am I glad to see you."
Divine nodded. "We exited the dungeon we were running, and found ourselves surrounded. Love the hair, by the way. It really brings out your eyes."
Silver's eyes flashed green as she smiled at Divine. "Thank you." Her eyes returned to red and she smirked. "Let me show you what I learned while I was away."
Silver raised her right arm and opened her palm. Moisture began to collect and form into a massive ball of water. She moved her right arm in front of her. The massive ball of water floated above the zombies, and Silver snapped her fingers. "BANG." The ball of water popped, and it began raining onto the zombies. Once they were drenched, Silver snapped again. This time, Ice spread outwards and crept up all of the zombies, covering them in a sheet of Ice. She stomped her foot, and all of the zombie sculptures shattered at once.
She looked back and smiled at Divine and Tora. They were seemingly in shock, with their mouths wide open. Silver tilted her head. "Guys? Hello? Earth to Divine and Tora." She waved her hand in front of their faces.
.....
Somewhere in a separate plane, someone was watching the whole scene, from when Silver arrived, to when she finished the fight. The whole thing lasted a minute, at most. The figure muttered to themselves. "Ahh. Little Vampire, you would make a perfect vessel. Alas, you are already dead." Her eyes turned toward Divine's figure. "You will have to do as a replacement." The figure smiled and closed the image.
