"Because, I love you."
As the words beat a staccato in her mind, Jeannie was sure that the poor prince had lost her mind. narrowing her eyes, she crossed her arms in front of her and said," Well, I can understand that! If I were you, I'd love me too. But I would also like to know the truth, Prince!"
Prince Christopher Sebastian Lucille Spark felt a wave of irritation. He hated it when the woman called him Mister but when she called him Prince in that tone, it almost made him feel as if she was cursing him!
He could barely tolerate her for a few minutes, and his grandmother wanted him to marry her? If he had to spend endless amount of time in her company, he was pretty sure that he would soon be complaining of migraines and then the Royal Doctor would suffer with him!
But he was once again impressed by her tenacity. However, once again she opened her mouth!
"Look, If you think you can blackmail me then you are severely mistaken. Even if that man reveals me as his biological daughter, I am simply not going to do anything to accept that! I have no interest in being a princess. I also don't want to date you. So, I am here to give you a friendly warning Drop the date idea."
"Sorry. I can't do that."
"What if I give you all the money back? The one that we won from the auction and the one that you paid?"
Jeannie hated to think of handing over that money! He had won the second highest bidding and returning that was going to hurt her heart but she had no choice.
"That would not be fair, Princess." He answered in the same acidic tone that she used.
Jeannie looked horrified at the thought of being called a Princess and her mouth opened and closed like a gaping fish. Using this opportunity, Christopher slowly stood up and walked over to her.
Casually, he placed a finger under her chin and closed her mouth before leaning in close and whispering," You don't like being called a Princess? Well, then it seems I will have to call you that often. It is one thing that makes you go quiet. Also, do you really think I need to use blackmail? All I have to do is this..
With that, Christopher gave in to the urge he'd had since he had first seen her and she had ordered him to take off his pants. A taste of that sassy mouth..
Jeannie wanted to protest as she felt the warm lips against her mouth but she had forgotten how to. The man was an expert at kissing. Her only experience at the 'sport' had been when a boy in her high school had forcibly kissed her with his wet mouth! But this kiss was not wet... In fact it was hot.. As her toes curled and her eyes started to flutter close, the key card in her hand slipped to the ground.
The sudden loss of something that she had been holding onto for dear life had her snapping back to the present and she pushed away the prince with wide eyes! Placing her hands on her hips, she stared at the Prince and seeing his unruffled look, was even more angered, since her heart was still beating hard ready to jump out.
Seeing that the prince had dared to attack her and tried to use his handsomeness against her, she controlled her heartbeat and crossed her arms in front of her as she said," Well, Prince Christopher, though I must compliment you on your kissing skills, since you do not kiss like a fish, I don't think that it is enough to convince me to date you. In fact this kiss actually negates the need for it. I am really not attracted to you."
Christopher's thin lips kicked up in a small smile and the smile widened when he saw her eyes following the movement. Walking to his work desk, he picked up a fine before speaking, " What was it that you accused me of? Blackmail? Well, I have not done it yet but now I think I am going to have to."
"Princess Jeannie, not only are you going to go on a date with me but you are also going to marry me. A typical Cinderella Wedding. From rags to riches story? A fairy tale about a Prince falling for a commoner. We'll give it a nice name. What is that the people in this country call it? A flash wedding!"
This time the woman looked at him as if he lost his marbles but before she could say something sarcastic, which he was sure she would having understood her this much by now, he continued," Because if you don't then everything you have worked for will go to waste."
He watched as her slightly red face turned white and felt a pang of regret. But soon that regret was washed away when she was able to quickly collect herself and rally back. "Be careful, Prince. I don't take threats well."
This woman would be an interesting enemy. The thought came out of nowhere in his mind and intrigued Christopher but instead of saying anything more, he simply held out the folder and said," See for yourself."
