Christopher raised his hands at the nth threat he had received recently and tried to think of a way to pacify his wife. At four months pregnant, Jeannie had turned into a living threat. A time bomb. If he did not compliment her, then it meant that he was not interested in her anymore and if he did then... that did not keep him safe as well. For example, he had just now told Jeannie that she looked beautiful in her new dress today.
But she did not take this as a compliment like she would have in the past. Oh no! That meant that she was not looking beautiful yesterday? How did she even land on that logic? He had no idea. And now, anything he said would be used against him.
