John did not need to think hard to realize that Kathleen had come to the Taylor family because she wanted to make peace with Bach. She tried to prevent the Yates family and the Taylor family from starting a war.
He did not give Bach a chance to speak at all.
John had almost decided the truth and then said in a cold and terrifying voice, "Kathy came to the Taylor family to look for you. She trusted you too much, and she believed that you would not do anything to her!"
