Joshua might not be at that level yet where he could create a perpetual motion machine inside his body to generate infinite energy, but he was at the level where he could defeat those that were stronger than him!
If Haize was those at the High Realm Intermediate Stage that was weaker than average, he would have already been defeated by Joshua, Shirley, and Jeremy. But Haize was the strongest even among the High Realm Intermediate Stage.
Because of that, even Joshua who could skip ranks with his fact manipulation was still having difficulty defeating Haize. Forget about defeating, even Haize's demon physique was durable enough to tank all of Joshua's attack that was imbued with holy element to the extreme.
Haize would use his demon fire to burn through Joshua's holy element. Although it could never thoroughly eliminate Joshua's holy element, it was still effective enough to at least reduce the damage dealt by Joshua's holy element.
