Although there was another Mid Realm Intermediate Stage warrior in Deus' group aside from Richard, Richard was not only slightly stronger than Ben (the other Mid Realm Intermediate Warrior) but he was also better at leading a group than him.
Ben didn't show any displeasure when Richard was appointed as Deus' right-hand man mainly because Ben and Richard were on friendly terms and because of that, the two of them were well aware of each other's capabilities.
Ben was well aware that Richard was better than him in terms of leading a group. And besides, he didn't have any interest in leading Deus' subordinates since he preferred to work alone most of the time.
