Chapter 1 - Love

"It's okay Tao, you'll be fine I promise you", said Emperor Thaweesak soothes his wife who was smiling through her pain. Emperor Thaweesak was trying his best to soothe his wife's worry but deep down he knew it wasn't going to be better as he himself couldn't accept the truth either.

Empress Tao had been sick for a while now feeling hopeless yet always put on her brave face as she knew her action will affect everyone that is in the room.

No one actually knew what had happened as it's all started with minor coughing in which they treat like a normal sickness but little do they know over time it wasn't the case anymore.

As days, went by a few weeks later her temperature started rising, her skin was scorching to the touch while she was trembling as if the room is freezing cold.

At the very beginning of her sickness, the empress convinced her husband that it was just a petty cold and nothing serious and that she will be fine in due time like she uses too but not this time.

Emperor Thaweesak like a good husband and obedient one listens to his empress request by not worrying too much about her illness but at the same time, the emperor secretly ordered his imperial doctor to not leave the empress side until she's better.

The imperial doctors tried everything possible from the old-style medicine up to the modern type of treatments but the doctors already knew that whatever they do every test that the doctor has tested for any sickness and illness that they can think all of the tests will end up the same which is negative.

In shorter words there is no cure for the empress illness, it frustrated everyone as no one in the empire know what happens or what causes their beloved empress to fall ill.

Back to the empress. Her beautiful dark brown hair was stuck to her forehead as it was slightly drenched with her sweat. Her once lively personality gradually become dull as she's getting worse and worse each day.

She couldn't stand without collapsing as if the Earth centre of gravity sucking her and what's worst is that she's now bed-ridden, her limbs were sore and weak, every movement felt like there's no movement at all. All she could do is to look around and speak in a soft yet slightly slower than what she normally speak as she lay in her bed waiting for her day to come.

On that day, Empress Tao laying immobile in her bed knew that her day has finally come, she quickly called the maid to call on her husband.

Upon reaching the room, the Emperor immediately rushed to her side, while his empress called in a weak smooth voice, "Tha".

"Yes my empress," said the emperor

All the while he quickly takes his seat next to her as he lovingly caresses her slightly hallow cheek while the empress continue;

"Tha my love, I have something to tell you", said the empress.

"Whatever it is, it can wait love"

"No Tha, listen to me. I'm dying"

"No Tao, please don't say that. You'll get better."

"No Tha, I'm not and you need to know that"

"Tao, ple - "

"Tha," the empress said slightly forcefully as she wants her husband to know and get him wrapped over the fact that she is dying.

"I'm dying my love. I'm not getting any better and you know that"

Emperor Thaweesak forcefully closed his eyes, beating himself mentally for his lack of love, attention and care towards his wife till she's dying in his arms while all he can do is trying to deny everything.

"My love, don't beat yourself over things that you can't and don't know what happens"

"I'm not-" said the emperor trying to cover up but was cut by his wife who smiles in her knowing smile.

"You can never fool me, my love, I know you like it's the back of my palm"

Said the Empress as she smiles proudly and lovingly at her husband who smiles at her words fully aware and agrees that his wife is the only person who knows him inside out and embraces his flaws.

"My love, please take care of our son and support each other. Can you call him for me my love" said the empress as she slowly, gradually, starting to coughing uncontrollably while the emperor order one of the maids who was there by the door to get his son in.

The emperor and empress son, who was there standing by the door, outside of the room eavesdropping on everything quickly makes his entrance as he takes a big step towards his mother who was looking at him, proudly.

The moment the emperor and empress son walk over to his mother, each step that he takes his tears was falling down like a broken tap as he couldn't stop himself from crying.

The soon to be the ruler of Cheveerat Empire never once shed tears since he is a child but now looking at his once beautiful, vibrant, fuller version of herself he couldn't stop crying as he hugs his mother, wetting her shoulder while his mother lovingly trying to caress her son's head with the help of her husband by holding her hand over to his son's head and slowly caress it.

"Mother", said Mew trying to control his tears while still hugging his mother.

"Hush now my son, it's okay my baby boy. It's all going to be okay, don't cry for long my son. Life must move on, you can't stuck in one place forever, to the both of you" said the empress as she looks at both of the emperor and the soon to be the ruler of Cheveerat Empire, her son, as they both nod their head in agreement.

"My son, please take care of your father and always remember I always love you," said the empress as she quickly adds; "Both of you" while her husband and son holding dearly onto her hands.

"We love you always love/ mom" replied both Thaweesak and Mew at the same time without missing a bead.

Mew, at the age of 20 years old he felt his first loss, the biggest in his life as he watches his own mother dying right in front of him.

With her last breath, she releases while a small smile decorates her face. That night the empress of the Cheveevat Empire died. Leaving behind her beloved husband and son.
