Chapter 8 - THE PLAGUE OF THE FOREST

It didn't take long for him to stay in the midst of the swarm. Kai

drew his katana.

Kai: Hah!

His blows split in two at each threat.

Other bugs were flying in the direction of Manari flying above

Kai: Damn! The weight of this sword makes counterattack difficult

Manari drew his pistol and began firing explosive bullets with

great aim at each of the beetles, but the more he fired the more

they came.

Manari: The explosion of my bullets glow in the dark, there are

many of them, the shots attract them

They were surrounded again but this time there were more.

Manari: Kai!

Kai: I know! This is bad!

Manari: We have nothing left but to use this

I take out what appeared to be some kind of rattle.

Kai: An attraction bell? Well!

Manari: The bell will distract the insects so that one of us will

go for the flower

Kai: It seems that this would be the only way

The little holster was beginning to lose her composure a little

because of the situation she was in.

Manari: Okay, at my signal, run to the place. I will stay to

contain it as long as I can

Kai looked at her and didn't hold back from hitting her little

head.

Manari: Ouch!

Kai: Idiot, I'll be the decoy, besides...

Manari:?

Manari watched the samurai closely as he rubbed at the scene of the

blow.

Kai: I don't know what the flower is! But you do, so get ready!

Kai held out his hand to receive Manari's bell, then she started

running through the bugs with her gun in hand.

Manari: Five minutes! Hold only five minutes!

Before she was chased, Kai activated the bell producing a bright

light attracting the attention of most of the swarm.

Kai: It worked, now. Let's have fun!

The samurai ran into the trees for better mobility by jumping from

branch to branch.

Kai: Here they come... haaaaaaaaa!

The beetles fell one by one like flies.

Kai: This sword cuts very well, but it makes it difficult for me

to move...

Kai: W-what!

More beetles were coming from behind.

Kai: It can't be!

The blow of the beetles sent the bell and Claudio flying in

different directions.

Kai: Damn!

The samurai fell off a cliff, but luckily fell into some bushes

unscathed.

Kai: Gah!

Suddenly a group of Raflesias appeared in front of him, giant

carnivorous plants emitting their hunting cries.

Kai: The buzzing of its wings woke up some Raflesias, what's more... there are three of them.

With a smile and his sword in his hand he said what could be his

last words.

Kai: I'm counting on you, Manari!
