Chapter 209: Invading The Old Village
In the village, no one was aware of what was currently happening with their precious Witch Queen.
No one was there for her because no one was suspecting anything. September was making sure no one was getting inside the rest house either. If one of the witches tried to walk toward the rest house and enter inside of it, she could shoot more fireballs and render them unconscious as she did earlier.
However, this didn't mean the former Witch Queen was sitting over there on the outskirts of the village doing nothing while the Minotaur and the ranger were deep into the invasion. Eventually, September came down from the hill where she was hiding behind the trees. She came into the village like a shadow, moving and jumping from roofs to roofs, searching for something…
Making her way into the village without anyone seeing her. Bridget was distracted by Junk and April. Nothing could stop her now. In the situation she was in, Bridget would never be able to detect her magical presence within the village. Everything was working exactly as she planned it. On her way to the church, she was able to come across many witches she knew.
They never detected her. The ones she saw, well, she remembered from a long time ago. These women, they were girls before. They were students of hers. She taught them. Saw them grow up and thrive as women and witches. It was too bad that September removed all of this.
She loved her witches. She still did. However, now, all of them hated her, unfortunately. September was forced to close her eyes and forget about all of them. At least for the time being, as she silently jumped from one roof to the other, avoiding the friends and children she used to know.
September had a plan, and she had to go through with it. In the horizon: She finally saw the church. It was much closer than it was before. She was so close. She could feel the throne calling her, it was so close. And there was no one stopping her from reaching it again after being away from it for so long. The last time she was here, she didn't get to have a lot of time alone with her old throne. It was time to rectify that a bit.
Was September using the Minotaur and the elf as distraction to work on her own agenda? This could be the truth. Was she such a puppet master that this could have been her plan from the start? September was a lot of things, but she wasn't exactly interested in risking everything just for a throne. She must have something on her mind. A plan that wasn't pure suicide.
Daring coming back here in the secret witch village was something that could get her killed. She better have a solid and concrete plan, otherwise, the chances of falling for this invasion were quite high. However, fortunately, for her, no one was suspecting anything just yet. But, she did leave her watch spot up on that hill. The surrounding area of the rest house was no longer watched by her.
Anyone could go there now and easily find out about Junk and April, who were fucking their current Witch Queen. They were on their own. Anything could happen to them from this point on…
September finally made it to the church. She infiltrated herself through one of the many windows on the left side of the sacred and dark establishment. That window was unlocked. September knew about it because she purposely left it unlocked the last time she came here, hoping her young sister and no one else in the witch village would notice it. Looked like that part of the plan worked just fine.
The interior of the church was incredibly dark at night. So much, so it was remarkably difficult for anyone who wasn't used to it to see. September was still getting used to it. She still got it. She descended from the window and walked between the wooden benches in the dark church. At the end of the main room, there was her throne. She could see it. She smiled as she did.
The place was notoriously spooky at night and with no lights on, such as now. Witches often heard voices here at night. Reminiscences of the ancient witches, who used to take care of the church and the village a long time ago. So spooky… Exactly what September adored about this place. She walked up to the throne and admired it in awe. She waited for a while as she admired before taking a step closer toward it. It was her time to shine again. Tonight, September was taking her throne back. It was bound to happen. However, as soon as she took another step closer to her old throne, she was suddenly stopped by the swift and ghostly apparition of four women in black robes. They suddenly appeared all around her. Surrounded her. She canceled her idea to move forward. She would need to re-think her approach. Furthermore, she waited. She watched the figures.
"Who are you?" September demanded the four of them.
"September. You are finally back…" One figure mentioned.
"We have been waiting for you for a long time…"
"We did. We thought you'd never come back again…"
"Tonight is the night of the restoration of your title…"
"Again, who are you? You are not students. You are not witches I have ever seen before. I never taught you. So, who are you?"
"We are the four sisters…" one of the four figures replied.
"The four sisters? This can't be…" September argued.
"We are the four elders who originally founded the village a long time ago…" A different figure explained to her.
"We founded the village in harmony, but our greed nearly destroyed us. There can never be one Witch Queen. Never just one."
"That's why you have to make peace with your sister."
"Who the heck are you? Seriously? Why are you telling me all of this? You can't be the four elder sisters… All of you are dead."
"Yes, we are, sweetheart…"
"But that doesn't mean we can't continue visiting our old church sometimes…"
"Tonight is important…"
"What are you going to do, September Autumn?"
"..." September didn't know what to say.
