Chapter 205: Conquering The Autumn Kingdom
The Autumn party was on the prowl.
The attack was led by Junk, with April following him closely and September covering them from a certain distance. Their destination: The witch village.
The only place that mattered to them if they wished to retake control of the Autumn Kingdom once and for all. The witch village. Always the witch village. Junk attempted to sneak into the village, but needless to say, sneaking his way into anything wasn't exactly his biggest strength all around.
He tried. Moving from behind one house to another. April was decent at it. The large-breasted ranger was sliding against the walls with her back and rolling on the ground to make sure she was never seen.
Meanwhile, Junk was having trouble squatting not to be seen. This wasn't his favorite approach. By a long shot. But this was the only way this could work. There were a couple of witch guards scattered all over the village. They weren't alerted or anything like that. Most, if not nearly all, of them, were calmed and relaxed, unsuspecting as to what was about to happen to them.
The two continued sneaking around until she finally made it where they wished to be: The rest house where all the witches all over the village could come to relax a bit after their shifts were over. The rest house was exactly where April saw Bridget, the current Witch Queen and younger sister of September, go as she was originally scouting the area when they first made it here. This was the perfect moment to strike.
This heist would be much more difficult if they had to infiltrate or break into the coven church where the Witch Queen throne was. There were so many witch guards at the church that this would have been suicide. But on the other hand, over here at the rest house, there was nothing that could stop Junk and April. There were no guards outside, patrolling. Chances were that there were not too many people inside either. Bridget was the current Witch Queen, after all. She might have been able to obtain the entire rest house for herself that evening.
Junk and April knew exactly what to do now that they made it to the rest house. The brave man did his best not to make too much noise, but honestly, as it was the case now, there were no guards, and the pair of renegade adventurers ran into a straight path behind the establishment. They had almost made it. They could feel that Bridget wasn't too far anymore. If only they could make it up to her, they would then be able to realize their big plan.
Junk and April continued running in a straight line behind the rest house. This path was covered with fallen leaves. This didn't exactly help their heist as running and stomping on, so many leaves made a lot of noise, but this wasn't something that they liked that was going to ruin everything for them.
They kept running. Fully dropped the stealth approach and entirely went for it. They had almost made it. The back of the rest house was right there. They could see the back door that they were going to use to infiltrate themselves inside. It was so close…
"We almost made it. This is going to work. This working, Junk…" April mentioned to him while being out of breath.
"Don't speak too fast, otherwise this is going to backfire on us. We better keep our mouths shut and keep going," Junk replied.
"What are you talking about? Everything is going to be just fine. It's not like anyone can see us right now anyway‒" April said.
"‒You two! Quit running immediately!" April was then suddenly interrupted by someone who had recently circled around the house. It was one of the village's inhabitants. It was a witch. A witch guard. One that they had, unfortunately, missed spotting surrounding the rest house earlier. The guard pointed her wand at the both of them, threatening to hurt them with her dark magic.
"Seriously? You had to ruin everything like that?" Junk said.
"This… Is… Just… A pure coincidence. Right?" April asked.
"You. I recognized both of you. You two work for the renegade witch. Oh, you made a big mistake coming here. The Witch Queen is going to be so happy I found you," the guard explained to them with a big smile on her face. This witch was only scouting the area without suspecting anything when she heard the sounds of two people running on dead leaves. This was exactly what alerted her. The sound of the fallen leaves getting stepped on. Their haste had the best of them in the end. They were caught. It was sadly over for them.
"Damn…" Junk didn't know what to do. He, honestly, strongly considered making a move and attacking her right away. Breaking her wand and shoving it inside of her ass-hole. That should be something that teaches her a lesson or two in the end.
"Oh, no, this is not what you think at all. We are definitely not trying to sneak into this place. We are looking for the Witch Queen. We wish to speak with her, please. It's important."
"Bullshit. You two are in big trouble for coming back here. The Witch Queen is going to be so happy I caught you," the guard said to them right before suddenly receiving a small fireball on the hand that was holding her wand. The fireball made her lose her wand. It fell into a pile of dead leaves. The young man then seized this opportunity to rush at her and immobilize her before she could run. Meanwhile, April knocked her out with her elbow and she was no longer conscious. They had managed to make it all work in the end.
"Dang it! Thanks, Sept!" April looked into the distance and had her thumb up. Junk nodded. September saved them from away. The next moment, the two hid the guard's body and finally made their way inside of the establishment. As Junk thought and hoped, there were not a lot of people inside. No one, in fact, at first. They entered a long corridor. They could hear a seducing woman's voice at the end of the corridor. Could it be Bridget, AKA The Witch Queen?
