Chapter 74: Back To Monster Hunting
On the road, they discovered more 'wanted' posters, splattered all over wooden signs and wooden arrows. They couldn't avoid it. It was everywhere. Posters of September's drawing. Posters of April's drawing. And also posters of Junk's drawings. Although, the artist drew him more like an actual boar or a bull instead of a man-bull AKA a Minotaur. This sort of pissed him off a bit.
"What can't they draw me right?" Junk wondered out loud.
"I don't know. Although you look kind of cute in these drawings, I've got to say," April admitted to him with a big smile.
"They truly added wanted posters everywhere for us. The knights working for the witches are desperate to find us," the Autumn witch mentioned to the others as they continued their road.
"But, it came close to it this time. It's working for them," April responded to her, not as confident and feeling great about this.
"They didn't stand a chance. These two mouth-breathers couldn't do anything against Junk. We shouldn't be worried," September was convinced that they would never get caught.
"Hey, one second, your hat swallowed me as the knights were coming for us in the tavern, the next second, I was unleashed in the woods, and they were trying to hurt April. I can't allow something like that to happen. You know?" the Minotaur commented on. He was right. The knights might have been strong as a large number, but only two of them weren't enough to do anything against him. In all honesty, September could have burned them alive, right there on the spot as well, but she personally thought it was more entertaining to have the Minotaur do all the dirty work. All the savage battling.
"My hero! I love you so much, Junk-honey!" April hugged him with all the strength she had. She was madly in love with the man-demon. She couldn't get enough of him, and she kissed his muscular chest, therefore, leaving countless pink lipstick marks all over it.
"I'm no hero, but I'm glad you are still in one piece and that your sexy-ass body is alright," Junk thanked her, in his own way. But then, he turned his head to the witch of the group. "So, give me another reminder, witch, would you?" the Minotaur asked her.
"What do you need a reminder on this time, Junk?"
"You are not going to make us do some stupid fetching quests or things like that, aren't you? What are we doing now, exactly?" it was important for the beast-man to know what they were doing and where they were heading. He couldn't tolerate it anymore.
"Don't worry. We are not doing any fetching quests, as you put it. We are not even going to be traveling for too long. There is no point in staying too far from the tower, where we are safe," the Autumn witch explained to him. Reassuring him a little. However, this was not exactly the reminder he had been asking for.
"The tower? A safe place? I am not so sure anymore," April became quite frank with her witch friend and admitted that the Autumn Tower hadn't been safe at all the last time they had been there. With the invasion and all the other issues that happened there, it was understandable that she was feeling that way, to be honest.
"The tower will be safe now. Trust me," September replied.
"Anyway. That was not the reminder that was asking for, witch," Junk brought things back to the topic he originally wished to discuss. "I want you to remind me and promise me that we are doing something that matters. I understand that without you and your delicious mana milk… I am going to die. I get it. But that doesn't give you any rights to treat me like trash and to make me do useless stuff. Quite frankly, I don't really care about finding the once again, broken and missing pieces of your fucking cauldron. I really don't care about that. However, if we are going soul hunting to better ourselves and bolster our powers, so we can defend ourselves against the knights, the witches, and whatever other enemies want us dead, then, I'm in," Junk explained to her as good as he possibly could as he continued following her on the road. The place where they were going was mountainous. Drastically different from the countryside road they recently used or the swampy Morgan Marsh they had been to.
"Well, I've got some good news for you, Junk: We are going soul hunting. Can you believe it?" the dark mistress announced to him. Junk and April then looked at one another. They were happy.
"Finally something I am into as well! I love soul hunting! We capture the souls of ghosts, monsters, demons, and other monstrosities, so we can become more powerful!" April was so glad they were going back to doing it. After the spirit of the old pervert at her cabin in the woods and the zombie fish, this was something that they hadn't been able to do much. Finally, more soul hunting.
"I get you, April. My favorite part is when we capture the soul of whatever we are hunting and then transfer it into the beautiful breasts of the witch," the Minotaur happily admitted to April.
"Is that because it makes them larger?" April demanded him.
"Right on! Breast expansion, here we go!" Junk confirmed.
"You are so awkward, the two of you together," September said to them as she continued traveling at the head of the group.
"Sure we are!" April hugged her precious Minotaur again.
"Speaking of awkwardness, it's a shame we lost track of that weird-ass green tea, elemental monster that you gave life to, witch. Like I said, Pepo told me that I was that creature and I believe her. I can still feel it. The elemental is another part of me, just like this armor. It's another armor," the Minotaur thought about the elemental monster and how he disappeared after the old house was brought back to the surface.
"Yes. It's a big loss…" September admitted.
"That elemental monster armor was so cool! I'm glad you were able to wear it with your soul! What are we hunting today, Sep?" the elvish young woman asked her friend.
"A ghoul…" she revealed to her.
