Chapter 24: Night Whisperer
At night, the two adventurers felt even more outnumbered as howling creatures were heard all around them in the clearing.
The road to finding their boss was going to be a bit longer than originally expected. But at least, they were not alone. They had each other. However, the lack of mana milk was hurting and haunting him desperately bad as he and April trekked through the vast clearing outside the exit of the cavern.
"So, what was your idea again?" April asked him.
"..." he didn't say anything. Kept walking.
"Your idea to find September. You said you had an idea back there," the green-haired woman continued insisting on the matter.
"I never said it was going to work," he finally said something.
"But you never said anything about what the plan was."
"If I'm not sure if it's going to work, what would I be wasting my time and your time explaining to you the plan," he said.
"You are not making any sense, Junk," she told him. "The only thing I want to know is how we should go about finding her again and continue our journey‒"
"‒Ugh!" interrupted her, he grunted as he quickly went down on the ground. Falling. Breaking. He held his own chest. Something was wrong with him. He had difficulties breathing. His chest was pounding. He had turned all sweaty in only about two seconds. April came to her partner's aid. Her mouth and her eyes were all wide open. Her eyes were teary. She was worried about him.
"Junk! What is going on? Are you alright?" she asked.
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me," he was in major pain.
"Say that to another slut, would you? You are not fine! It's the fact that you haven't been drinking September's mana milk for so long, right?" she was worried about him. She dropped to her knees to help him. He was panting.
"Let me do my things! I don't need you, April. I just want to deal with this on my own. We are going to find her again, and she is going to be giving me her milk. Stop worrying so much about me."
"I wonder why it is that way. I wonder why you need to be healed by her special milk daily, otherwise, you suffer this much."
"It's because I left the prison I was kept in. It's a side effect of leaving the prison. It's my fault," he explained to her.
"Who said that?" April stopped him and asked him directly.
"What?" he didn't understand what she was talking about.
"Who first said that it was because of the prison and a side effect from escaping it that you are always falling apart like this?" April questioned him. Shook him off. His vision was blurry. Yet, he could still clearly see her beautiful and voluptuous elvish body. Naked. Naked just for him.
"There were all sorts of rumors in prison. Other prisoners often spoke about experimental enchantments that were being cast on us. The guards and the warden occasionally spoke about it too, but nothing too specific or detailed. The first one who directly told me I was going to die if I didn't suck on her titties and drank her milk was September. She is the one who saved me. But you already know that," the boy explained to her. Unfortunately, having to pause all the time, between most of his words as he continued panting.
"I see," she said, calmed, slowly, suspicious for some reason.
"Now, let me go. I have to find her. I know I can," he said, pushing her out of his way. Not hurting her ever, but pushing her enough, so she would stop holding on to him. He continued walking. Marching in the field. Hurting himself even more with each, single step he took. He wasn't learning anything. Never pondered.
He was bull-headed. Literally.
However, as he moved away from April, the surrounding howling was suddenly back. He paused. They looked around. Shadows manifested themselves.
Wolves.
The shadowy shapes of giant wolves surrounding them. Both of them noticed them. Junk and April didn't make a sound. It was almost as if they knew that Junk had moved away from April, therefore, giving them a much better chance at striking. They were waiting for them to be divided. The better way to hunt them before devouring them.
"April!" he quietly said, the name of her partner.
"Yeah?" she asked him, scared, unsure what to do here.
"Come closer to me. Slowly coming closer to me," he said.
"Okay," she slowly crawled back to him.
"Stay close to me. We are being hunted," he pointed out the obvious. The giant wolves were slowly and dangerously getting closer to them. On the prowl, they couldn't wait to seek their fangs into their bodies. They didn't care too much about him. They naturally desired to kill him, but not for sport or for hunger or for anything like that, but for something else. They wanted to get to the girl. And they had to kill him to be able to do that. They couldn't wait to have their sexy-ass and naked elvish woman for themselves.
"I felt their presence ever since we came out of the cavern and rested. They seriously began hunting after it turned dark."
"Earlier, you said you had a plan to find September. You still didn't tell me anything about it. If you can do something with that plan, something, anything, I recommend you do it now," she urged him to do.
"I don't know if this is so much a good idea anyway."
"What do you mean? Good or bad, you said you had a plan earlier?" April wasn't feeling it. She was led to believe he had a strategy earlier.
"I'm not feeling it right now. I'll tell you about it later. Maybe," the boy said to her. Preparing for battle with the wolves. Trying his best to protect her at all cost. Even if it meant that he was going to die in the process. He didn't care.
"Maybe? Junk! We need a way out of here now," she argued.
"What I had in mind originally wouldn't work. I rather prefer fighting them off with my bare-hands," he said, lowering his head.
"Junk. There are too many of them. You are going to get killed. We are going to get killed. We have to escape. Now," she said.
"Not if I can hold them off by while you run away," he said.
"What the hell are you talking about? We are never going to do that. We are staying together. No matter what," she snapped.
"April. I'm just a pathetic ex-prisoner," he paused, "I'm still a prisoner. Even out here," he corrected himself. "I'd rather have a hot girl survive and go on, instead of seeing someone such as me survive and seeing you fall. I made up my mind, April," he explained to her.
"Well, I did too. I'm staying with you. Let's fight them off."
"This is not going to work. You are a pregnant woman. You shouldn't do battle. Run away! Run away! Now! Run away!"
"I'm fighting for two now. We can do this," she insisted. There was nothing that could be done. She wasn't going to listen to him. The giant wolves finally made their move and attacked them. The Minotaur did everything he could to protect her. He charged at at them.
No horns, this time.
Junk had no armor.
Meanwhile, April still had her bows but no arrows left in her quiver.
He charged at one of them.
He pushed one off.
He held the ones who were trying to get their fangs on April. However, there were so many of them that he couldn't do this forever. At some point or another, two giant wolves circled around April and attempted to assault her. To Junk's surprise, again, the young elvish woman stood her own and kicked one in the face. Breaking a few of his teeth. Then, for the second, one who ambushed her was swiftly met with an incredible and perverted look at the space between her legs as she pulled off some intense acrobatic move and spun around. Obviously, April was naked. He could see her unveiled body completely, but as she spun around, she opened her thick legs as wide as possible in the air. Then, she grabbed the second wolf with her wide-opened legs. Catching his head. Grabbing it with her legs. The last thing the animal saw before it was all over was her naked vagina. Her wet elvish pussy.
When she had defeated the two wolves who ambushed her, Junk turned back to her, to check on her, meaning to help her, realizing that she had been able to hold her own. She was okay. So, was he. For the most part. He had defeated most of the other wolves. The remaining two escaped as he laid eyes on April again. The both of them were out of breath. Junk had been bitten quite a bit by the wolves. He was bloodied up.
"Nice moves," Junk congratulated her. Having seen her beautifully move a few seconds ago.
"Thanks," she replied to him, panting.
"You were able to hold your own. Again. You didn't go as berserk as you did the other day with the soldiers, but that wasn't bad at all," that was his way to tell her that he was glad she was still alive.
"You know what? I just thought of something.
"What?" he asked her.
"I might not be like September. I might not be able to produce milk at all times. I also might not be able to cultivate mana milk, only possessing normal milk, but before the wolves attacked, I could have given you some of mine," she was right! Exactly as she said that, the young looked down at her chest. She was lactating. Subtle drops of milk were softly leaking from her nipples.
"That's right! You are pregnant again now," he said.
"Come to me, Junk. Come sucking on my tits and drink my milk. Perhaps it will give you some strength back. Just enough, so we can make it back to September. In time, so we can heal you," she said with her arms wide open. Waiting for him. Junk, then slowly walked toward her. Meaning to accept her offer and drink her milk.
However, right before he could do so, they suddenly heard howling again. Stronger than before. They looked around. They were more of them. They were back. At least twenty giant wolves this time.
They were doomed.
"So, that's it?" April asked him.
"That's it."
"I really don't want to make you hate me for asking this again, but for the last time, what was your plan?" she asked him. Panting. Knowing the both of them wouldn't be able to fight the second wave of wolves that just had decided to show up.
"This…" he raised his right arm in the air.
Partially transforming into his armored form.
Only his right arm did. Transforming into a gauntlet.
He showed his armored gauntlet to her.
Showed his sharp claws to her.
"What?"
"I don't have a lot of energy left, but I can still do one more attack. I have enough energy to summon my gauntlet and that'ts it."
"No! No, Junk! Don't do this! This could kill you if you use too much energy!"
…
"I have to do it…"
…
But then…
"Wait a minute!"
All of a sudden, a voice they had never heard before was heard in the night sky.
The voice was strong.
It was a woman's voice, whispering in the sky.
Yet, even though he was whispering from a high height in the sky, the two could still hear her perfectly. As if she was whispering in their ears. Junk and April looked up. They saw a dark shape. Hovering above their heads. The giant wolves stopped marching toward them as the shape with the female voice interrupted them.
"Who are you?" April asked the woman in the sky.
"..." Junk didn't say anything.
"I'm the one who took your precious Witch Queen down. I'm the night whisperer," she replied to her, still whispering.
