Chapter 1 - The Beginning

Several hundred years ago; At the belly of the Isthmus, the Escarian Continent, sat the Kingdom of Amula and the Brugarian Empire. Two Nations led by the undead and living respectfully. Divided by morality and perspective, were once natural enemies, and were destined to bring to the continent destruction. During the Era known in modern history as the "Presbury Era" A young man named Eric Von Brugaria came to power, with nothing short of an uproar. Despite having more than half of the general population's support he made a move no one could have ever expected during his inauguration; A Diplomatic Marriage between him and the then Queen of Amula; A lich named Ozul. Was he bewitched? The population's cries and confusion fell on deft ears. For he and Ozul had fallen in love years before he was in power and was just doing diplomatic missions for the Empire under his father. Both established loyalists within their nobility, administration, cabinet, and military leading up to Eric's inauguration and when the time came they forcefully took over with the support they had, establishing the "Amulian-Brugarian Union".

"Nothing ever goes perfectly; No matter what you do there will be variables that you cannot account for, or control." -Manstat Jarvin, Philosopher during the "Balton Era".

While you can control and convince a population of many things; You cannot change the mind of a church and its devout followers. Such is the Pyrnian Theocracy. The Religious Zealot who spouts the divide between the living and the dead, a powerhouse that controls the central Escarian Continent, and most importantly the Suzerain state to the Brugarian Empire. And whilst the Brugarian Empire had most of its Autonomy, it was a representative state of the Theocracy, even withholding in its borders the "Free City of Laus" which held one of the Theocracies finest embassies, and churches within its city. And to the Church, Eric spat on its goddess and her divinity.
