Oakley immediately stood up straight and raised his hand in salute. "Sir, I am very sorry to disturb you! If you have time, can I invite you to the Garrison Guard station to have a cup of tea and talk about what happened here? Of course, I know you two are very busy men. If there's really no time, I'll go back and write out a report!"
Seeing the person in charge of the Garrison Guard, Locke almost laughed out loud. However, due to his position, he held himself back!
"Try not to publicize what happened today! I haven't figured out the specifics yet! You can just let the city lord know that the Dunmei Dark Blade Dragons are looking into this matter. I'm going to take all three of them with me. It's not a problem, is it?"
Hearing Locke's words, Oakley immediately bowed to them before leaving with his subordinates.
Locke supported Clifford as the five of them avoided the crowd on the other side of the sewer.
Back in their hotel, Locke settled Clifford down and then went to Correne's room.
"How's Princess Vicki doing?"
"Ah! It's Lord Locke. The princess' condition is very stable now. I think it won't be long before she wakes up!"
"That's good!"
"Can you tell me more details about that matter we discussed halfway just now?"
"Well, the Kingdom of Dunmei is not the only one with a High Priest. The Kingdom of Correne also has a High Priest. A few days ago, the priest made a prophecy for the kingdom! After delivering his prophecy, he died. His last words were to betroth Princess Vicki to Lord Locke! So, the king sent a message to the Kingdom of Dunmei a while ago and sent Princess Vicki here to marry you as soon as possible. We didn't expect to run into you here!"
In actuality, Locke did not want to ask about these things. He had wanted to know more about the three-headed water dragon.
"What about that dragon?"
"Don't worry, my lord. When Princess Vicki wakes up, she can immediately call off the three-headed water dragon!"
"Now that Lady Vicki is no longer in danger, I don't think the three-headed water dragon will command the magical beasts to attack this place!"
After receiving this news, Locke quickly left the room and went to a quiet place to call Green.
"I told you, I'll arrange for backup as soon as possible. It's only been half a day, and you're already rushing me!"
Upon hearing this, Locke could not help but feel his heart ache for Green. After all, he was in a very bad state now, and seemed to be extremely busy!
"Well, Green, the danger of the three-headed water dragon has been resolved. Therefore, you don't need to send any reinforcements here."
Hearing this, Green almost jumped with joy, but he quickly calmed down.
"Kid, are you serious? If you lie, something bad will happen!"
As the matter was too complicated, even Locke had not managed to sort it out himself, so he could only pat his chest and guarantee, "Don't worry! How can I joke about such things with you!"
"Alright! I'll go and settle all the follow-up matters. Thank you so much, kid!"
After that, Green hung up.
After relaying the message to Green, Locke immediately went to his room and fell asleep on the bed.
"I've been too tired recently. I've been running around everywhere, so it's time for me to rest! And about those four unknown men, which organization or kingdom are they from?"
As he thought about it, Locke fell sleep. Within a few seconds, he entered deep sleep.
The next morning, there was a knock on the door. Locke immediately sat up and walked to the door to find that it was a stranger outside.
"You are?"
"I'm sorry to disturb you, but I'm the City Lord of Hessler, Joyce Lauren! The impact of what happened last night was too great, and it caused huge damage to the city! So, please tell me what happened last night! This way, I can apply for funding from the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Dunmei!"
Hearing the commotion outside the door, Clifford, who had recovered from a night of rest, walked over.
"Good day to you, Sir Joyce Lauren. I'll explain everything to you!"
When he saw Clifford, Joyce Lauren's face immediately relaxed. "Sir Clifford, I'm so sorry!"
Clifford immediately winked at Locke before bringing the city lord to another room to explain about the happenings from the previous night.
Locke heaved a sigh of relief when he saw the city lord being taken away by Clifford. He was not used to dealing with people and could not explain what had happened last night.
Shaking his head, he went to Princess Vicki's room. Just as he arrived, he heard a quarrel.
"I don't want to be that Locke's fiancée! Why do I have to marry a man I don't know after hearing the high priest's prophecy? I have to find my own happiness!"
As she spoke, she chased Elijah Smythe out of the room.
When he saw Locke standing outside the door, he shrugged helplessly at Locke. "As you can see, this is how it is! I've already brought Princess Vicki here. The rest is up to you!" Smythe immediately pushed the responsibility to Locke.
Locke widened his eyes in shock! "Hey! You can't do that! I didn't receive any news of this from the king! Therefore, I have the right to reject this!"
However, Locke soon gave up on this idea. After Clifford sent the city lord away, he came to his side.
He whispered in his ear, "This morning, the King's secret order was for you to develop a good relationship with Princess Vicki and form an alliance between Dunmei and Correne! From today onward, you'll be in charge of escorting Princess Vicki. You don't have to go on too many dangerous missions!"
After listening to Clifford, Locke thought that there was something wrong with his ears.
"Let me take a break first! Even if that's the case, how can you stop me from performing my duty! Anyhow, I've just completed a very important mission, so I'm going back to rest!"
Hearing Locke's incoherent speech, Clifford patted his shoulder and comforted him, "Even if you say that, the king will not care about you! Princess Vicki is now your fiancée. I'll leave the rest to you!"
Then he left with Smythe.
