Heavenly Favor had become useless to Ryu as he now had Essence. As a result, recultivating only required him to communicate with his Beyond Perfect Extreme Spiritual Foundation. Essence, as the strongest qi there was, was perfect for filling in the imperfections of his foundation, making his every step perfect. Embryonic Qi only made it easier.
However, this didn't mean that his methods were useless. In fact, they had opened up a whole new world to Ryu.
