The border realm of light and shadows was made to stop fire from flowing into the dark, similarly, to stop shadow and smoke encroaching into fire's domain.
The magical barrier did not stop ice or water in any way.
The cold blade passed through the destructive red fire embers, each fraying it's edge into ever more sharp uneven edges.
Just besides Madea, another figure started forming, attracting all the destructive red magic to itself.
Xena's blade already passed past the other person.
Even if she wanted to, she could not revert her blade's momentum.
Thus, her blade moved forward, and beheaded Madea as Madea wished for.
