It is lonely in the forest.
My father was a kind man, he never stepped out of line. The day before my tenth birthday, my father sat me in a chair, and kneeled in front of me, resting his hands on my knees gently.
My older brother was looking after our younger sibling, like always. My father looked me dead in the eyes.
'My beautiful girl tomorrow is your birthday! And as a Weasters it is tradition for me to tell you a secret.' He smiled winking at me as he tapped the side of his nose.
'What's the secret dad?' I assure you I was not expecting what he said next.
'When I die, you and your siblings will receive something called Francesca, Francesca is like a superpower! Do you remember the superheroes on tv?'
'Yes papa they had cool capes!' My father chuckled at this.
'Yes they did dear but do you remember the villains?' I nodded my head, the villains were always my favourites. 'Well with your Francesca, you get to choose if you want to be a villain or a hero!'
His phone rung from the other room, he got up slowly and left to go answer it.
A few minutes later he called my name, I jumped up from my chair, and ran into him hugging his waist. 'Hi dad!'
'Hi honey, Hua will be coming over soon,' he ruffled my hair as I rushed out of the room, to set up for what we had planned.
...The next day came around, my birthday was amazing, I had a chocolate cake and got some good gifts.
The next thing I remember is waking up in my bed, Alashbah, my brother sitting next to me with Zhuang in his arms. Alashbah told me that father had died in a car crash that day, but Hua, and my self were unharmed.
My mother didnt cry once, she never actually loved my father, she was only with him because of his Francesca.
...Over time my siblings, and I grew to hate our mother, and with that hate came our Francesca. My Francesca is the ability to turn anything to stone.
When I was still learning of my powers I accidentally turned my mother's cat, Fluffy to stone. My mother was hysterical, and made me clean the statue every day.
