"Wait, you sold it?" Odebode asked.
"Another person wanted it, and you weren't there!" The wrinkled old landlord snapped, dressed in nothing but a bathrobe. "We figured you'd be dead by now!"
"I paid my next three months in advance!" Odebode yelled.
"Tough shit." The landlord yelled back, coughing as he did so. "Look, if you get the fuck out of here, I'll give you your money back."
"Yeah, fine." Odebode yelled. The landlord slammed five hundred tua bills on the table, which Odebode put into his pocket.
"And if you come back, I'm calling the authorities!"
"If they splatter my brains against the wall then it'll be the best paintjob this shithole had in years!"
