After the little sleep I got, I woke up to the cries of my three year old brother, David. He whined about my parents leaving for work but they didn't care. I got downstairs later to say goodbye as they left. I didn't tell them about Mark. Mom would have ended him. Avery promised she won't tell her so I guess I have no problem.
Later that morning, Ave and Ben had to head out. They suggested we stay at Austin's for the mean time. And since neither one of them has a car, we had to walk.
An hour later, Dave and I set off. Half an hour into the journey, we found ourselves in an alley. It was dark and gutter water dripped from the drains of some houses. Black cats meowed maliciously as they disappeared into the black nothingness that had surrounded us. As we walked, I felt something pierce through my skin, a little close to the area where the wound was. I looked there and saw a long, slender tube connected to the needle of a syringe. 'How the-?' I thought.
After I had pulled it out, a thick mist started blocking my vision. I was kinda confused because the weather man clearly said 'there'd be clear skies in the city today.' Something was telling me it might be poisonous so I covered Dave's nose with my hand. "Don't sniff it in", I told him. As I was raising my hand to cover my nose, Dave asked me a strange question: "Does your arm hurt big brother?", he asked. "The cut looks painful." I thought he was hallucinating or something because my wound was covered up. Maybe he was asking about that one. "Maybe you should a tissue to clean off all the blood", he ended. Blood? Now I was really confused. "What are you-". That's when I noticed a large opening in my cast and an even bigger one in my arm. I honestly had no idea how all of that happened. I felt no pain whatsoever. As I was getting up, I fell. I later began to feel sleepy and a bit nauseous. That's when I realized that the mist was an anesthetic. Dave got scared and began to cry.
"Dave", I called out to him. "Take my phone and call Austin. He'll know...". After those final words, everything went dark and all I could hear was Dave's voice calling me out as it faded away slowly...
