"New York?" I asked just to be sure although I've heard it clearly. There were only three of us in the room and none of them answered my question. Instead, they just nod. So I asked again. "I've been doing research about your company but I never knew you also have branch in New York? I mean, since when?"
"Do your research again if you wanna know when. But for now, I'll give you the plan and you review it. I actually sent it in your email already. Next week we'll move to NYC." He answered. And I unconsciously rolled my eyes and turned back without saying anything but right after I took my first step, he talked again. "Why roll your eyes, Miss Chen?"
I frozed for a second but managed to turn back and face him as quick as possible and I replied, "I never rolled my eyes, sir." He was just looking at me when I said that and it made me feel uncomfortable. He starts to walk towards me until we were only one foot apart.
This was the first time I got to see his face this close. I can't help but study his face and appreciate his beauty. I was standing near the glass window and when he stood up in front of me, he was also facing the windows which made his face exposed to the sunlight. The sunlight made it clear for me to see that he has a Hazel eyes and it does suit him well. He has thick eye lashes and brows, a long nose and well, a kissable red lip that made my lips a little jealous. He has a perfect jawline like damn, how can a man look this gorgeous? But what attracted me more is actually his scent. He smells really good that made me want to ask what his perfume is. I cannot describe the exact smell but it made him look even more attractive, for real. I just noticed also that he has good body, perfect shoulders and I assume his height is around six feet.
I was too busy appreciating his entire existence when he suddenly waved his hand. "I'm waiting for an answer, engineer. Why are you not saying anything?" He asked.
"Sorry sir, what is it again?" I asked since I didn't know what the question was.
"I'm asking..." he paused, "ahh. Never mind. Just review the project. You still have three days to check it before we fly to New York on Monday." he added.
"We're not rushing, are we?" I asked again.
"Yes. We are." He said coldly. And with that, I turn my back again and left the office. I have a lot of review to do regarding the project. I don't even know why I have to do it. I mean, I am not the one in charge in the site since I am an engineering manager not a construction manager nor Engineering Project Manager so why the hell do I need to review all these?!

"Funny how she can stay calm while talking to you when everyone else can't even look into your eyes when they talk to you." Brown said with a smirk before he jump on the couch in front of me. I smiled seeing him being comfortable around me. I like it that way since he's my bestfriend anyway.
"Well, let's just say Americans are really good in approaching people and be friends with them?" I don't know what to say to him since I noticed Celine's behavior too. It's not really bad though. I was just really surprised to see that she's very comfortable around me. Interesting.
She is actually a little suspicious since she appears to be incompetent but the mere fact that she graduated in UCLA both undergraduate and Master's degree speaks otherwise. UCLA is a competitive school for engineers and she cannot survive there if she really was an incompetent one. That's why I need to know. I will test her since she will not tell me the truth if I asked.
I purposely switched her with the manager of TLD's Engineering Department in New York even when we are preparing for a very important project. My people in NYC are really good that they don't even need my presence there anymore that's why I decided to focus more here in Hongkong, Asia rather. It has only been two years since I started a business here and so far, everything is unexpectedly smooth. But now that Celine is here, I need to make some changes. Two managers who are in charge for a huge project in NYC will come here and work here instead. While I go back to States with Celine to know more about her so I know how and where will I start my revenge.
I initially planned to make my company big enough to erase their family name in the business industry but I didn't expect that they've been falling already before I even got on the top. And now, even the daughter applied in my company which made me change some details of my plans.
Guess I will just eat the food they served? Because obviously, they only want to join my company to regain their power. It would be easier for them to have projects with us now that she has the power to do so. With that, the world will hear about them again. Eventually, they will only use me and my company for their own sake. And since I gave them the key to the door they want to open, might as well make this game a little fun.
I didn't expect them to still have a audacity to even step in my company after what they've done to my family.
"Yixing Chen...how can I forget that name?" I said, talking to no one in particular but since Brown was here, lying on the couch, I move towards him and sat at the end of the long couch. I looked at him, waiting for him to say something. And when I was about to talk again, he said,
"Well, they already sent the card. The game is on you." Brown simply said and I smirked knowing who he was referring to. 'Celine, should I apologize now?'
I hate men who hurt women so much. I just hope I won't turn out to be like those jerks.
