I gentle violin melody dance about the stale air, seducing the smoke and fire to blaze brighter. To fall into the trance of each note, this melody came from the highest balcony of the Torre Eurosky. This once lit tower cast it dark presence all over the burning city of Rome, casting its' eerie melody down on to the frenzy street and into all the lost soul heart causing them to sing and part take of unnatural sexual acts. This was the ending of the world and the beginning of a dark era where the melody from this violin played the soundtrack too.
His smooth slightly dark finger moved like a snake on neck of the ivory violin playing notes that no man has ever heard before, a score that told the original story. His black hair waved in their air as he played as if saying hi for the first time to the world, he moved with grace on the balcony and glided with his feet to every sharp he played as if keeping count. His formal black dress pants and white shirt made it look like he was at work but yet his dark black eyes blazed with raw passion to the hatred that filled the stank air.
His music came to a halt as he felt the steps of one of his followers and yet the smoke and fire dance as if to the memory of the epic melody. Jewelry clattering gave way to Charmiona in all her beauty that was wrapped around a now dark blue dress with silver trims, leave two slits showing of her long legs and lower hips.
"I was wondering when will you ever play for me?" She gently said in a seductive way.
"I play for no one but myself… And you of all should know that." His voice was cold and he gently wrapped the violin in a crimson cloth and put it away in it case that was made out of rare ivory.
"Ophiuchus... I'm here for you to complete all that you wish, so please let me appease you whenever you need."
Charmiona ever so close to Ophiuchus almost like a lion closely moves slowly to bounce on his prey. Yet Ophiuchus moved away with ease as if knowing what she really wanted, he moved quietly with his violin case into the hall.
"Charmiona, I know what you desire, so it is a waste of time to try to reach out for me because I am the origin of evil and my twisted heart can never be swayed. The only thing I want from you is the skill I taught you to further my plan. So please be at ease and call Aelius to my studies, I must have a talk with him."
"My skills… You always look Aelius counsel and yet we both have the same education; do you have something against me!"
He stopped in front of the balcony doorway facing the hall, Ophiuchus was cold as a statue, in place he stood and he began to speak.
"Do you not know that I know what you can do and what you're a capable of. I trust in your way but I most have no distraction because something is a mist and I most stump it out as fast as possible. So please be my eyes and hears in this world and don't question what I want or do. Do you not remember where I found you and what I showed you?"
He started walking away as if not a care in the world, with steady steps he disappeared down the long dark long hall. Leave Charmiona on the balcony all alone looking out to the city engulfed in smoke. She began to hum to herself an old Mesopotamian song, that her mom had taught her as a child, still her mind was ever so clear on all the centuries that passed. One of the gifts the teacher had given them ever lasting memory, down to the last letter; she remembered every book she read by memory. So, this gentle song that contradicted the sight of the city made her remember the times of old where she lived running in the sun in delight.
Snapping back to the time at hand, she went to retrieve Aelius, and she knew exactly where he was. Making her way down the hall and down a few stares she came in to a room filled with a gigantic square bath with four small waterfalls on each of the corner. She looked upon the still water and in the center was Aelius, mediating with half his naked body emerge in the still water. Charmiona stood for a min, her perfume gentle filled the room and Aelius mouth began to move in silence trance but then spoke.
"Who can resist your fragrance Charmiona, filling this room like a garden of Jazmin that open up to a spring breeze."
"You always have been a poet to my heart Aelius, yet your sweet words are nothing but empty perfume vessels to me. The Teacher wants to speak with you in his studies, I must go and handle the affairs of this new world." She gentle said and turn with busty body moving in the rhythm of flowers swaying in the summer wind, her dress complemented all her right curves as she exited the bath.
"Was it worth it to lose unconditional love for immortality wrapped with endless knowledge?" Aelius said to himself as he stood up naked, exposing his slim but will built body. He moved through the water and each ripple of the water echoed the once un dying love he had with wife Charmiona, many memories of them searching for knowledge together. All this rush to Aelius once still mind, now filled with past images and memories of emotion not felt for many centuries. He reaches the steps, with each step out he lost connection to the water and his mind became clear again. He knew what would happen if he was not with a still mind. It would be his downfall for her knew the teacher could read into anyone mind that was not clear. Reaching the right corner of the room he wrapped a towel around and enter the dressing chamber where he changed into a black suit with a red tie. Aelius dressed at his best and he made way to the teacher studies which was at the top room of the tower that had its' own private elevator, the tower top floors where for the elite and only were granted access in special ceremonies. The silence of the top floors was what Aelius enjoyed the most, his mind was at rest from the chaos of the outside word. Taking the private elevator that was cover on all side with huge mirrors, that add a sense of chaos to the ride up to the top floor, the massive elevator door that was engraved in the middle with a Latin phrase:
"Tantum religio potuit saudere malorum."
"So potent was religion in persuading to evil deeds."
"Lucretius…" Aelius said to himself. He knew that the teacher leans towards the Greek classics and always bestowed that on us three. When the doors open the room was will lit with candles and the room was a semi a circle with an immense desk in the center and all around the semi-circle was filled with book shelves filled with all books of music and music theory. He was the master of all music and he played all the instruments known to this realm, but his passion was the violin that only he played for himself.
Aelius step into the room and he saw the teacher in the right side of table looking over a massive book, he took a deep breath and clear his mind for this was no ordinary being he was facing. Clearing his throat, he spoke toward the being at the end of the room.
"Teacher I am here as you wish, and what can I help you with?"
A moment passed in still silence as the teacher was finishing what he was reading, when he was done he turned to Aelius and stare deep into his crystal blue eyes.
"Call me Ophiuchus, for this is not the moment for formality. Aelius you have become something great, in all my time on this world I have never met a man who I could not read. You are as a still lake, so still that your mirror the sky in its' once beautiful perfection. Thinking deeply, I don't know if this is a good thing or bad, but I am always prepared so let us get to the matter at hand." Ophiuchus stared deep in Aelius with a stern face.
Aelius moved to the three seats in front of the desk, the seat were all cover and black leather with golden pins where they were sowed. The back of the chair reach the upper back of Aelius as he sat down. Unbuttoning his suit and fixing his red tie, he crossed his leg and waited for what Ophiuchus wanted done.
The candle light flicker on and off add tense atmosphere in the room, even though will lit, it seemed that the candle's flame dance and obeyed all what the teacher movement was. Ophiuchus close the considerable size book and gently place into one of the book shelves, there was no room in the shelve but as he pointed the book to it place the books parted and the book suddenly glide by itself to its' place. The teacher with his formal ware turned and sat on his chair that was made out old wood and it was cover with red cushion that sat will with the design of the chair. The back of the chair was tall and Ophiuchus rested his head back and slowly crossed his leg rest his delegate hands on his thighs.
"I have a question Aelius and I want your honest response… What do you think of me after you seen all that has come to past?"
"My place is not to think, my place to act as your instrument to create a new world that best fits your desire." Aelius said this almost as quick robotic response.
"Ahhh, always with the right words to say, I feel like I have taught you well. Let me change my question… What do you think this world need, this realm of man?"
"I cannot answer this question because I am not here to change it… you are."
"Haha… You make me laugh, well I see that you know your place, let me enlighten you on what has been happen that even you even The Elite can't see."
Ophiuchus turned and from out of great desk he pulled a midsize black global
And place it at the center of the desk. The global was all black with a few spots of lights in different colors like stars in the once visible sky, the global was held by a platinum semi-circle and the black global rested floating in the middle.
"Do you know what this relic is Aelius?"
"It is the earth cover in darkness…"
"…And do you know what these random color lights are that seem like stars?"
Aelius un crossed his legs and stood over the desk and look deep into the sphere, and suddenly he knew what it was.
"They're people… They are random people that bare the light of a star."
"You are wrong Aelius. They are not random people, but chosen people from higher powers."
"How can this be…"
He was cut short by Ophiuchus who spun around the sphere with his finger tip and while his black eyes became even darker.
"Did you honestly think we can change the natural law so easily without nature itself fighting back… Come on Aelius I taught you better, to always expect the unexpected. This world still has life and it is trying to scratch away from this beautiful abyss we are creating, a new world! A world of no rules to lock man down, a world where good and evil is mixed together, where universes begin to forge new life. A place where all realm comes together, where there no longer any balance but the urge to do what one pleases and not be judge, this is what I will give this era. Total freedom from all, no more judgement from on high; no more death… Freedom to live life to the fullest of each person will!"
Ophiuchus suddenly stop and adjusted himself on his seat, while leaving the black global slowly spinning and began to speak again in with a lesser tone.
"So Aelius this why I have sent for you, to help me decide how to handle this,
because anybody that has been chosen from these celestial beings, it's for a reason and I most know… No… let me re state the last thing, I do not really care why they were chosen all that I want is that light to be snuffed out by any means fit of your choosing."
Aelius waited till the teacher was done talking and stood up and replied,
"I will bring this to the rest of The Elite and we will find them and dispose of them as we see fit."
"Take the special sphere to help locate these suppose stars of the world, for I do not need to see them because I already feel their holiness in my tainted blood."
Aelius walked over and grab the sphere with both hands, and suddenly it melted down to a black substance that his hand absorbed into leaving a living rotating sphere tattooed on his right palm.
"You have now one of my relics that will be with you for all eternity, as it can see light, it also sees all things dark; no one will be hidden from you. Nevertheless, this relic comes at a cost."
"What is the cost…?" Aelius said in wonder.
"Soon or later, you will find out." with a grin the teacher replied, while getting up and look for another book to read in his exceptional library of all that was known to music.
Aeliues stood a moment lost in endless possibility on what the cost was, for he knew that Ophiuchus was called The Teacher and with that he knew that he should meddle with his relic as minimal amount as possible. He turned made his way to the elevator in a stunned state, but he knew he had to take care of these special being one way or another. The golden elevator door opened and he made way into the mirror filled elevator, from the reflection of the mirror in front of him he saw that the candles flicker low and The Teacher was already sitting down reading another book. The room was engulfed with dancing shadows cause by all the candle flickering in different rhythm, the elevator door closed slowly as The Teacher black eyes shined one last time at Aelius...
