Avril shut the door behind her as soon as the driver left. Walking down the hallway, she stopped frequently to admire the beautiful portraits on the wall as well as the antiqueness of the whole house. The house was grand and beautiful adorned with carefully white painting and different statues being placed around the house that made it appear like a palace in the 19th century. The whole house was a mixture of modern and ancient technology which made it more intriguing as well as luxurious to stay.
Avril continued down the hallway faster than before as soon as she heard clanging of ceramics from the southern part of the house.
Gripping her head firmly as she ascended the spiral staircase, Avril felt a lump in her throat followed by streaks of tears until she fell down on her knees and the image started to fade away from her head.
As soon as Avril heard the clanging sound, she had turned around and she saw her greatest nightmare. She had tried to control herself but she couldn't and eventually let it all out.
Wiping her face with some soft tissues, she walked to the kitchen to find her Grandma busily knitting and on her lap was a white fabric and a box of cigar. She smiled gently as soon she saw her granddaughter enter the room and then retired back to her knitting.
If Avril hadn't known better, she would have thought her Grandma was trying to ignore her , which was wasn't the case. She had learnt from her parents to never for a split second try to think her Grandma didn't like her and never to say anything bad about her, not even in her head because she had been told her Granny could accurately read one's mind.
At first she thought it was a joke, but she threw that thought away after her short call with her back at Paris.
The old woman finally stood up and walked to what looked like a black casket with blood spilled on it's sides. Avril shut her eyes and opened it again to check she wasn't hallucinating and she was just right. The old lad sat on top of the casket lid and lit up her cigar. She was a beautiful woman in her late seventies, but she looked no older than a fifty year old except for her grey hair and wrinkles on her pale face. She looked fitter than a young lady and her Sense of fashion was top class, her hair had been tied into a large pun and her blue eyes made her look like an ancient Queen. Avril pushed herself out immediately her Granny sat on the casket, she had been warned by her parents to never venture near the casket as well as listen to her Granny's night time tales.
Quickly taking a nap, which was followed by a shower, Avril headed outside to explore her new world.
