Gerald and Gernadine strolled out of the pack infirmary arm in arm, chatting as they walked back to the pack house to find Freida.
"Do you suppose..."
"Well...it could be? At our ages?"
"I lost my Desiree 23 years ago. If I had not had Timothy I would have died I am sure. It was awful." he shook his head as if feeling the pain all over again.
Grenadine stroked his arm softly, "I felt her passing and I could not breathe which is why my daughter was able to snatch Chichi away. I was grieving so for my dear friend." now she shook her head in sorrow as fresh as if it was yesterday.
"Grenadine!" A voice yelled out from ahead of them. "Frieda!" Grenadine dropped Gerald's arm and ran towards the older she-wolf. Gerald chuckled. As the older women embraced and laughed together, Gerald stood watching. He so missed this feeling. He missed a she-wolf's touch...wait. Grenadine said she was Queen of the Faye so how is she a she-wolf? Something is off here... he furrowed his brow.
"Frieda, my friend! My dear friend! How are you? I have missed you!"
Grenadine asked Frieda.
"I am well, ole friend. And you? Did you see your grand daughter?"
"Oh yes! well...briefly...but THANK YOU! If you had not remembered her scent I may never have found her!" Grendine was so grateful.
"So, how is being Queen of the Faye ? You are the first Faye/Wolf hybrid to ever rule. How has it gone?"
"Very busy but well. I find being both very helpful in keeping peace between the two kinds."
Gerald was ease dropping unashamedly. Now he knew how she could be Queen of the Faye and a she-wolf...she was both!
Then so is her granddaughter?
Gerald left Grenadine with Frieda. Since Timothy had been spending every moment beside Chichi he had taken over Alpha duties temporarily. He had to admit it was kinda nice being busy. He so missed his mate/wife/Luna. The years passed but the ache of her loss never left. Not really. He sighed.
Just as he entered the pack house the alarm went off. Rogues! He turned on his heel and charged out the door, lept and shifted mid stride. He hadn't lost his power obviously. Just as he rounded the house in his black wolf form he caught sight of a white wolf as large as himself charging out with all the warriors. A she-wolf! Grenadine? Yes! It was her. She was taking down rogues left and right and then as he ran past her she stopped abruptly and shifted. She had a white dress on and her silver hair cascaded down her back. She looked like a woman in her 30's. He knew her to be near his age (over 150!) but she looked gorgeous!
Grenadine then raised both hands up and every unconscious rogue was lifted off the ground. They were levitated! She moved her arms to the right and then straight in front of her. She turned on her heel and walked herself and every rogue to the dungeon. She deposited every rogue at the door...a huge pile of unconscious rogues lay at the feet of the guards. They stood mute and wide eyed. Gerald approached, "Don't just stand there! Move them into the cells.5 to a cell."
"Yes, Alpha."
Gernadine snickered and jogged over to Frieda who was laughing. "Some show, Grenadine!"
Gernadine joined her in laughing while the pack warriors blinked and kept looking at the two women.
Gerald shook his head in approval and admitted he was taken with this grandmother.
IN THE PACK INFIRMARY
Timothy heard the alarm but was conflicted about leaving Chichi. She had just woken up. She was still recovering. He couldn't just leave her unguarded and all the guards had answered the alarm. So Timothy mindlinked his dad, "Dad?"
"We got this, son.Stay with your mate!" and that was it. He waited anxiously to hear what was happening and how things were going. 20 minutes later in walked his Father. "All done."
"What? What happened?"
"Hmmm... how do I say this? Grenadine happened!" he chuckled.
"What on earth and under heaven does that mean?" Timothy was confused.
"I mean her grandmother took care of it." and sat down on the extra chair. Before Timothy could say anything more he heard in the hallway laughing. No, it was more like giggling. In walked Grenadine and Frieda giggling and blushing like school girls. Timothy's mouth was open and the look on his face was priceless as he took in the site of 2 mature she-wolves carrying on so.
Gerald had to chuckle even more as the two older women amused him.
"Dad? Are you ok?" Timothy hadn't seen his father like this in...well...forever. Ok he had never seen his father like this.
Gerald stopped chuckling and shook his head. He turned to Timothy and furrowed his brow, "What?" and walked away. Timothy stood there watching his dad's back disappear from view.
Chichi cleared her throat and coughed gently and giggled. "I think ...I think..."
"No... not possible. Is it? They are both so ...so...old!?" Timothy was
stunned.
"Well, I wouldn't tell either of them that." Chichi said quietly.
Timothy glanced at Chichi and their eyes locked then both burst out laughing. "Why not?" Timothy rolled his eyes. Chichi chuckled.
