Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: -Development Project : CVR (6)

Myeng opened his eyes, he had no idea what to expect. His last memory was the face of death and he had completely acknowledged his death, yet in front of him was a desert. He was neither alive nor dead, he floated around like a ghost. He scouted his surroundings, and that was when he saw them...

Myeong was speechless, he stood in silence watching the action unfold in front of him.

[Memory creation 100% : The Tale of Moobon Tae]

A handsome but slender man named Moobon Tae was walking in the distance to Myeong's East. Further to the East, was a large-scale army marching forward towards Tae. The moon shone on the desert they walked on, and the army relentlessly marched closer and closer.

[Sensory aspect has been initiated]

[Characters will not be able to see or hear you, you will remain in 3rd person]

With a flick of his wrist, Tae had swung his sword in the air once, eliminating the entire army apart from one man at the back who sat meditating on the ground.

"Myo Kwang-Sun..." Tae spoke, his large fingers wrapped even more tightly to his blade.

"The Sword Emperor, it is an honor to meet you." Myo Kwang-Sun uttered, he held a huge menacing grin. Myo Kwang-Sun approached the Sword Emperor with an air of confidence and intimidation, each footstep felt powerful but swift, his eyes fixed firmly on the ground beneath him with a grim aura that was so intense Moobon Tae felt almost blown away, Kwang-Sun was looking at the sand below him, yet Tae could feel immense pressure as if Kwang-Sun was staring straight through him.

Myo Kwang-Sun stood tall and fierce, his eyes blazing with a burning intensity as he faced the Sword Emperor. "I have a question for you, Sword Emperor," he continued, his voice low and menacing.

The Sword Emperor stood unmoved, his body emanating a powerful aura that could topple mountains. "A question?" he replied coolly.

Myo Kwang-Sun took a deep breath and spoke, his words ringing out like a battle cry. "Do you believe in miracles?"

The Sword Emperor's eyes narrowed, and he regarded his opponent with a steely gaze. "Miracles are nothing but a fanciful delusion, a desperate plea for hope in a world that is devoid of it. Begging for a miracle is a fool's errand, a vain attempt to convince oneself of false hope."

The two warriors stood in silence, each aware of the immense power the other possessed. It was a clash of titans, a battle of wills that could shake the very foundations of the universe.

"I see... your prestigious title has blinded you, you are too full of yourself. Would you consider it a miracle for a soldier to beat a Sword Emperor?" Kwang-Sun retorted, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Your arrogance is hefty despite being an ordinary soldier, if you're referring to beating me, I am sorry to admit that you're heavily mistaken. I don't lose. However, I have heard quite a lot of rumors being spread about your strength, so perhaps I should end them."

"You're yet to answer my question, Maboon Tae," Kwang-Sun said, growing slightly impatient. He looked straight into Tae's eyes, and Kwang-Sun's grin grew wider by the second.

"Yes, I'd consider it a miracle, in fact, I'd even consider it impossible," he replied, unsheathing his sword.

Kwang-Sun let out a hearty laugh.

"You should know one thing Sword Emperor," He paused. "I make the impossible, possible,"

Tae moved at an incredible speed, his feet barely touching the ground as he charged towards Myo Kwang-Sun. But Kwang-Sun, with his razor-sharp reflexes, sidestepped Tae's attack with ease.

"My, my, your speed is truly impressive," Kwang-Sun said, a sly grin forming on his lips. "But it seems you have underestimated me, Sword Emperor."

"Don't get cocky, Kwang-Sun," Tae retorted, his eyes fixed on his opponent. "You haven't seen everything I'm capable of."

Without warning, Tae disappeared from Kwang-Sun's line of sight, reappearing behind him in an instant. He swung his sword, but to his surprise, Kwang-Sun had already anticipated the move and was already in motion to dodge it.

Tae's frustration grew as he launched attack after attack, but Kwang-Sun seemed to be one step ahead of him at every turn. Finally, Kwang-Sun pulled out a black sickle, and Tae knew that this was no ordinary soldier he was facing.

With a deep breath, Tae readied himself for the next round of attacks. His mind and body were screaming at him to retreat, to live to fight another day. But Tae refused to back down. He had worked too hard to earn the title of Sword Emperor, and he was not going to let Kwang-Sun tarnish it.

Tae swung his sword with all his might, the force of his attack sending shockwaves through the air. But each swing missed its mark as Kwang-Sun dodged with lightning-fast reflexes.

"Sword Emperor, how much do you trust your sword?"

"With my life."

"Wonderful!"

Tae leaped back to catch his stamina.

[Kwang-Sun activated the skill: Sickle Drive]

Kwang-Sun threw his sickle at Moobon Tae, but it was easily dodged, and the sickle went behind Tae.

"Pathetic,"

"Don't speak too soon,"

Tae's face went blue as the voice he heard, came from behind him. He was in disbelief. "A skill that allows him to teleport to his weapon, such a thing is unheard of," he thought to himself.

Kwang-Sun slashed at Moobon Tae's waist. In disbelief, Moobon Tae gently dabbed his waist with his hand only to see drips of blood running down his palm.

"Enough!" Moobon Tae bellowed.

"You're ready to surrender?" Kwang-Sun responded.

"Never, whilst there's an ounce of blood in my veins,"

"Ironic, isn't it? Right now, you're waiting for a miracle yourself."

[Moobon Tae has activated skill: Overdrive]

Moobon Tae's pupils disappeared, and his once brown hair changed to a bright blue.

"You'd surrender your humanity to defeat me? How pathetic!" Kwang-Sun scorned.

Moobon Tae blindly slashed his sword, every attempt being more vicious than the last, but Kwang-Sun effortlessly dodged.

[Moobon Tae has used skill: Fatal Slash]

Kwang-Sun laughed manically as he teleported away and dodged the skill causing the sand mountain behind him to be cut in half instead. Blue streaks emitted from Kwang-Sun's eyes as he teleported around Moobon Tae, the light shone so elegantly in the midst of the desert night.

Tae unleashed his black aura which covered him from head to toe.

Moobon Tae kept slashing in an animalistic manner until he abruptly froze, his face dreaded with fear.

"What's wrong, do you no longer want to play with me?"

Kwang-Sun teleported in front of him.

"If you still view me as an ordinary soldier and are unable to see the contrast in our strength you are massively mistaken, Tae..."

"...In fact, you never had a chance, to begin with."

Kwang-Sun raised his sickle from the ground, gripping it firmly in the palm of his hand.

"You mean nothing to me," his voice rang out with an air of superiority. "Your title of Sword Emporer will be forgotten after this day," he sneered. "Followed closely by your entire nation!"

"Yet, my legacy will forever be known, as the first ๐‘๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ž๐ซ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐งโ€ฆ" he paused. "Even in your pitiful state, you should be able to recognise that..."

Kwang-Sun paused to look at his watch.

"...This has been a wonderful warm up so I give you my gratitude. However, I must end things here."

Kwang-Sun walked towards Moobon Tae, he looked him straight in the eye, he raised his finger to his temple. With the touch of a single fingertip, Moobon Tae slowly faded away into the wind and vanished. Kwang-Sun teleported away into the far distance.

Myeong floated in mid-air, his face was blue and the events shook him. Petrified, he stood frozen in place, his body held captive by the grip of true, bone-chilling fear. The icy tendrils of dread coiled within him, constricting his every thought and paralyzing his every movement. In that moment, time seemed to stand still, as Myeong grappled with the overwhelming sense of dread that threatened to consume him entirely, though the threat had seemingly disappeared, he didn't feel safe.

"What... the f*ck was that?!?" he finally let out after the burst of confusion.

Myeong turned behind him to see a colossal black hole that was dashing towards him.

"Wait, that black hole seems familiar. Isn't it the same one that brought me to this wor-"

Myeong's voice slowly faded away as well as his vision as he could only see darkness. Myeong abruptly opened his eyes to see that he was still in the waters.
