Just as Speedwagon said the top left of the screen did have a filter option.
[Earth], [Moorim], [Seheranbad], [Kylian].
'What…, is this really a different world?'
He wasn't sure but Yoon Seok couldn't leave any possibility, so he started to look over.
And while checking he searched specifically for the Speedwagon's messages.
Then, suddenly the whole messy chat room disappeared, and the messages by Speedwagon came into view.
– Speedwagon: This place is called The Tower of Heaven and it has four trials. The one you have chosen is called the Arena, the world of a duel.
Yoon Seok absorbed the information that this unknown man has given.
To sum it up, it went something like this:
1. We, the ones chosen as challengers, must fight an equal opponent every 24-hour. And the opponent is based on the previous fight i.e. total amount of AP acquired by both the parties should be the same.
2. In case of victory, you can buy equipment, learn skills, or increase abilities using the APs obtained as a reward. Just like a game.
3. In case of defeat, a coin will be used to revive. A challenger can revive themselves till the coin count becomes zero.
*Additional information, the price of a coin is 250 AP per unit.
4.The winner of the first duel will be rewarded with 2000AP and the loser with1000AP. For the starters, it would be better to buy good equipment with unique skills compatible with you rather than wasting points in skills or improving the stats.
5. Returning back to your world is simple; One can buy a ticket; an item in the Miscellaneous section, but right now buying one is suicidal.
The last bit of information was crucial for the current Yoon Seok.
-Speedwagon: That's it. That's all I know. I don't have any other information because I'm too just a first-floor loser. So, peace out!
That was his last text, and with that, his explanation was over.
Thought it was just a brief explanation of the ongoing situation but…
Nonetheless, it was helpful for Yoon Seok.
Yoon Seok couldn't help but feel grateful at his nosiness, but for now, he did nothing other than sorting his thoughts out.
'Hmm, now I have some information on this system.'
The Tower of Heaven
And what was the other thing, Arena, was it? The ordeal of Duel.
If what Speedwagon said is correct, this should be a trial with a lot of game elements to it.
'But, what's the purpose of this place?'
No one could tell.
Just that its existence is divine that no one could comprehend.
Now that he knew how to use the filter, he filtered out so that he could see the conversations from the people of Earth.
-Where_the_fuck?: Speedwagon! Please answer me. What should I do with 1000AP?
-Kimchi dumplings: Ugh… because of kids like you, it's getting really noisy. If you have a brain, try using that.
-Where_the_fuck?: You idiot, just block it if it's getting loud.
-Where_the_fuck?: Speedwagon! Speedwagon!!!
It seems there were only 347 participants from the Earth.
Only a small number of people were actually talking, though it was mostly chaotic conversations.
Seeing nothing important, Yoon Seok returned to the original screen, chose the [Miscellaneous] option, and found the "Return ticket" that Speedwagon mentioned.
*Re-ticket (Rank C) – Tear the ticket and you will be able to return to your original world.
Price: 200,000AP
In the Miscellaneous section, tons of tickets were being sold that had all the convenience items on foods or various households.
Winning and luxury matched each other.
'The meaning was simple enough to make me swear.'
[Go back]
No matter what, he had to fight.
And it was not just him, even for a daily necessity one will have to win over and over again.
And about the ticket Speedwagon mentioned not to buy was different, even if he wanted to he didn't have enough AP to buy.
*Re-ticket (Rank F) – Tear a ticket and you will be able to return to the original world for 24 hours.
Price: 300AP
Currently, Yoon Seok had a total of 2000 APs.
If he wished, he could return to his world at any moment.
But that won't happen.
'If I want to live, for now, I'll have to endure it.'
Even if he brought a few F-ranked tickets, the outcome will be the same.
In the end, he would automatically be teleported here after a few days.
Well, Yoon Seok did think to buy one ticket to see if they worked properly, but…
He decided to postpone it for the next time.
Return? That's good.
But right now, the priority is survival.
It was clearly stated that survivors will have to save more APs whether it is to buy the ticket, invest the points to buy equipment, or perhaps to learn a skill. More the AP, the more likely one will survive.
Returning to the original screen, Yoon Seok chose the [Equipment], where the details appeared.
[Weapons]
[Armor]
[Accessories]
[Special]
Among the categories, Yoon Seok chose [Weapons].
Then again, the screen was subdivided.
[Daggers]
[Blunt weapons]
[Spears]
'There has to be something like a knuckle punch.'
Of course, he had no intention of buying anything.
Yoon Seok defeated a monster with his bare fists.
But that was only possible because his opponent didn't have one either.
'I still have no clue how I did that…'
Anyways, right now Yoon Seok needs weapons.
There's a huge difference between being equipped and bare hands.
'But what weapon would suit me the best?'
There is a saying, longer the weapon, the more advantageous one would be.
That's right.
The first one to kill wins the fight.
If that's so, should I pick a spear?
Yoon Seok, who was distressed, shook his head.
'No, it's better to pick a sword or a blunt weapon.'
To handle a spear he had to use his both hands.
Besides, the range is not the only problem.
If it was a competition about range, then the bow will be the strongest weapon here.
'I need a shield too.'
Yoon Seok imagined himself in a real fight with someone.
Wielding blades to kill someone was appalling to him, that the mere imagination of it made him shudder.
Is it possible to block an incoming sword with another sword, like in those animations?
Though Yoon Seok had not tried such a thing before, it sounded quite unrealistic.
Rather, it seems more stable to block attacks with shields and wield swords or blunt weapons to attack with the other hand.
'Well, I'll look around some more…'
Yoon Seok looked around some more and found a sword. He checked the details written on the item and looked at the price.
'It should be worth around 1000 AP…'
*Rank F. – Unnamed sword. Speciality – Hard and sharp.
Price: 1000AP
No worth noticing a quirk-less piece of armour.
The ones with magical or C-Ranked weapons that had lots of unique skills, but…
Those weapons cost more than 100,000 APs.
'I can't access any item that is either B-Rank or more. Does it mean to get permission for those items my level has to be higher?'
For now, Yoon Seok put the weapon purchase on hold and started to explore other items.
Though Speedwagon advised to buy equipment first, no one can guarantee if it was really out of kindness, or malicious advice disguised in it.
His limit was 2000 AP.
So, he should proceed with all carefulness to make the most efficient purchase.
Yoon Seok, who decided to spend a bit more time looking around, took almost an hour and skimmed through every item, to have the best result.
Later, he came to a conclusion.
'Let's buy a sword and a shield.'
To be honest, buying a sharp weapon was scary for Yoon Seok.
Just a little slip on his part, the sharp blade could hurt him.
But, just to wield the sword he had to use too much force.
Is it really possible to wield a sword while holding a shield at the same time?
