"Dear…are you alright? Mei? Honey, why is she not waking up?" a woman's voice said.
Mei groaned, Is it mother? It cant be right? She doesnt care about me at all…even if I and her would be the only people left in the world…she wouldn't care for me….but…who is this? Why is she holding my hands tightly?
Mei thought as she tried to move her body or even just her hands, she tried but her body wont listen.
Argh! What happened to me? Am I dead? I cant move my body! It feels…heavy, Mei thought and tried once again. This time she was able to move her index finger.
"Oh my! Honey call the doctor quick! Mei moved her finger!" The woman exclaimed. "Don't worry dear, your dad is calling the doctor now. Please be strong and wake up."
Mei relaxed, dad? Is he back now? Then the person holding my hand right now is indeed mother? But…I don't believe it. Is this really heaven?! did mother got amnesia and forgot her hatred towards me?! I need to wake up. Mei squirmed again but her body is just too heavy, she only manage to move her right hand. Nevermind, I need to save up my strength and hopefully the doctor can help me.
After 10 minutes the family doctor arrived. He checked her vitals and body but found nothing wrong.
"She seems fine madame, she just need to take a rest and by this day or tomorrow she will wake up" the doctor said and Yun Mei's parents sigh with relief.
"Thank you doc, may we invite you for some tea? And sorry again, we might bother you if she wakes up hopefully today" the woman's voice said as sound of foot steps grew farther until the sound of the door closing was heard.
It was midnight when Mei finally woke up and was able to move her body freely. The first thing she did was wash her face, but as she entered the bathroom, she gasped.
"Wha-, is this me?! what happened?!" She asked to herself as she found out that she looks completely different. Her ebony hair was now brown, her eyes of black turned into green and she grew much taller than what she used to. "Something is wrong, am I still in my own world or did I die?" she asked and went towards the balcony.
Sure enough her gut feeling was right, she isn't in her own world anymore. Her current house is a mansion with neighboring houses near as big as theirs. There were guards at the gates and servants strolling on their frontyard. She gasped and slowly back away.
"Did I…die? But then why am I here? Could it be…reincarnation?" she asked again and thought of the events that happened before she black out. She sigh, "I cant have answers right now but I guess I will have to wait till morning to ask my parents…If I indeed reincarnated, what happened to the real one owning this body?"
Lots of questions came into her mind, she tried pinching her face to check if she was dreaming and after lot of attempts in trying to remember and even analyzing what happened, Mei gave up. She grew tired and felt her eyes getting heavy, she took a deep breath and let sleep won her.
When the alarm clock rang, Yun Mei sprang out of bed and hurriedly went to her bathroom. "Oh no! Im gonna be late for work!" she shouted and showered fast. When she came out, she opened her cabinet and clothes of different style greeted her. "Eh?" she said startled on the numerous branded clothes that greeted her. She was deep in thought when a knock came and someone older greeted her, "Young miss…breakfast is ready."
Yun Mei was surprised, "ah yes thank you sir…?"
"Sebastian" the older voice said.
"Ah yes, Sir sebatian…just wait a bit. I will be ready in 10 minutes" Yun Mei replied and sure enough grabbed whatever she saw first.
When she opened the door, the elderly man in his 60's looked at her expressionless and closed his eyes. "Good morning young miss, do you have plans for today?" he asked walking beside her.
Yun Mei smiled ackwardly, "not really sir Sebastian. You know I just woke up and all."
"Please just call me Sebastian without a sir, young miss…I presumed you are in hurry while picking your clothes?" the elder man asked with a stern but caring tone.
"Huh? What do you mean, si- I mean Sebastian?" she asked looking confused at the elder man.
Sebastian smiled, "ahem…please look at your clothes young miss."
Yun Mei did what she was told and soon enough her face turned red. She was wearing a red body con chanel dress with a long slit on her right. "I…uh, I should get back and eat breakfast afterwards" she replied preparing to run back towards her room when Sebastian grabbed a hold of her arm.
"Please have breakfast first young miss, madame and sir Yun are waiting for you…I can help you with your clothes afterwards" Sebastian said and let go of his hold.
"Oh ok, thanks Sebastian" Mei said and followed behind.
After eating, Mei returned to her room and Sebastian prepared a light blue maxi dress. Mei changed into that and sat on the bed.
"Is there anything wrong young miss?" the elder man asked standing a foot a way from her.
"May I know…what I am like before I loss conciousness, Sebastian?" Mei asked looking at her hands resting on her lap.
Sebastian cough, "well you are kind and lively. You greet and respect everyone equally…if I may say so, you are quite unique."
Mei didn't answer or said anything so he continued, "you excel in studying and if you have something you wanted to achieve you get it with great efforts. As someone who was born rich, you differ than the other because you don't…how do I say this…you aren't rude to those that have low status than yours. You also call me Sebby which makes me quite concerned at first but thankfully your parents were very understanding and let you call me that...Everyone here love you so much that upon knowing you lost conciousness after you jumped on the lake made everyone cry and prayed for your recovery…If there is anything you want to know more, just ask me young miss."
"Am I spoiled?" Mei asked.
"No, it actually makes your mom concerned since you well…ahem…you dress differently when you go out of the house" Sebastian explained.
Mei looked up towards the elder man, "differ in what way?"
Sebastian didn't answer for a bit, "it would make your mother happy like just this morning if you continue to dress this way even outside. Because before, you always dress manly and would proudly say no one aside from your bestfriend Miss Lucy knew you were a girl."
"Re-really?" Mei asked. Wow for someone who is rich, the owner of this body is just like me in some ways. i wont ask why she pretends to be a boy in the first place…I guess she just wanted some freedom from her usual life. "A-anyway thank you for those information Sebatian, I would like to go out of the house right now." she added and stood.
"Ok young miss, but will you go overtime again this evening for your studies?" Sebastian asked.
"Studies?" Mei asked.
Sebastian continued, "you may have forgotten but you have schedule booked everyday. You study a lot since you love designing so much. Also, your mother is concerned about that so whenever she found someone interesting, she would let you go into blind dates. But rest assured you have no blind dates for today."
"Oh uh…thanks? Well may I know if I work or I just study?" Mei asked.
"The madame doesn't know this but your father does, he knew you work as part time secretly near your school. But he didn't stop you since you insisted to have a taste of ordinary life is." Sebastian explained.
Mei smiled weakly, "I see…so…do I have work right now?"
Sebastian looked at her and sigh, "Looks like I will remind you of what you do before you lost conciousness young miss. I hope you will be patient with me." Mei nodded with an ackward smile.
It took Sebastian only an hour in explaining what used to be her routine, but Mei sure was confused. Sebastian only gave a small sigh and patted her shoulder, "You will remember everything as time goes by young miss. For now, why don't you study and I will guide you in your daily schedule."
Mei was elated to the point she immediately grabbed the elder man and hugged him tightly, "Thanks so much Sebastian! You are a life saver!"
The elder man was surprised but gave a small cough while composing himself again. "I believe it is your time to study young miss. After this, I will bring you to where you work."
Mei nodded and with that her life in another timeline began.
