Like my estimation, we arrive at the village when the sun is about to set.
Though it's an awkward trip if I am going, being honest since we are holding hands the whole time. Well, I know that there's nothing wrong with that but I wasn't comfortable as I was a loner.
So holding a girl's hand isn't something I do often. If I recall correctly, I didn't even hold any of the girl's hands before excluding my mother. I can't help being embarrassed by it but I had to play it cool and thankfully I didn't blush either as that would surely make it worse.

So the moment we arrive at the village, some of the villagers are kinda looking at us. But it's only natural for them to be looking our way since we are wearing a raggedy outfit. Kinda make us look like beggars here.
But we are probably like a beggar right now as the both of us don't have anything. So I doubt that we even could afford any food or at least a place to sleep in when the nighttime came.
Still it's better than waiting outside of the temple as at least this area is much safer.
I do want to enter the inn at least but seeing all of the villagers giving us weird looks. I somehow changed my mind and it would be better to find somewhere more secluded for us to talk. Because what we're going to say after this would be rather confidential after all.
I then picked a place where it's not really that many people walk by…
"I think you could stop holding my hand already, this is a safe place after all." I said that since the fake goddess is still doing so.
"Could I hold it for a bit more?" The fake goddess said so with a pleading face which was kinda hard for me to say no.
I do admit that the fake goddess does have a cute face and maybe that's why the villagers are looking at… as her beauty is indeed something else. I never really pay attention to it but now that we're in this situation, it's hard for me to go by and not notice.

So after a few minutes, she finally calmed down… It's finally time for me to ask her who she actually was. As that's what is currently in my mind the entire time.
"Could we talk now? I am curious about what you actually are and I hope that this time you could be honest with me." I said that.
The fake goddess face was a bit hesitant for a bit when I asked that question. As it seems like she doesn't want to spill the truth even in this circumstance at all.
I do not know if that secret was something important that us mortals couldn't know off but she ought to realize what situation she was in right now. Not telling me anything would make it pretty hard to figure out what's happening here.
So keeping her knowledge and real identity a secret would just pose a problem at this time.
"This isn't the time to keep it a secret… you don't need to worry as I wouldn't tell anyone about it." I said that.
The fake goddess then looked at me as she said, "Promise me then that you would be keeping this a secret, since if this was heard by the mortals here… for sure it would cause havoc in this world."
Havoc? I always thought that the secret was something serious but never that I expected that it could be that worse. I guess the affair on the heavenly plane is much more serious than I thought.
"Like I said, there's no need for you to worry about that. It's better to tell me in that way you wouldn't need to figure it out on your own. That's my promise to you." I said that trying to reassure her that everything would be fine even after she told me about everything.
"Okay I believe you as you're different from the rest of the humans after all… I will tell you everything and the first thing was-"
The fake goddess then explains to me and she apologizes to me first for deceiving me to believe that she's a goddess as she's not.
She then said that her name was Aniela, one of the angels that was created by the Goddes Enous. Indeed the Goddess was a female deity just like what she had told me before but it just wasn't her.
The reason she lied was no mortals should know that the real Goddess Enous has been missing from the heavenly plane. None of the other angels know where she went to but one of the angels had made an assumption that the Goddess itself had been killed by someone more powerful than her.
As there's a trace of darkness in the heavenly realms but they couldn't find anyone who was responsible for leaving that trace.
So without the goddess, the heavenly plane was lost so the eldest sister among the angels. She decided that each angel would govern one of the tasks of the goddess. To make sure that the heavenly plane was able to do what it was supposed to do. Thus Aniela was assigned to oversee the dead souls of this world.
While the eldest sister of the angels, Eve. She will try to find the Goddess whereabouts and to seek the truth on her own assumptions, that is whether the Goddess Enous has been killed or not.
What was more shocking was this all happened quite a long time ago and Aniela also said that might be one of the reasons why this world was in chaos.
As the existence of the Goddess ceases to exist and the darkness will keep on growing… as this was its chance to overthrow the remaining light that exists in this world.
