My head was pounding and I could faintly hear yelling as I regained my balance and vision. I blinked a few times to see Alexia slap Johnathan across the face.
On my feet again I spoke over them, "That's enough! Johnathan I need to to leave, you have created a disturbance. Right now I have more important matters to deal with than you childish acts."
He looked at me, shrugged and got back in his car and left. Alexia hugged me and brushed her hands all over my head asking, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"Just a bump on the head, I should be fine. I've had worse." I spoke walking towards the hospital doors.
We went in and began the wait for news on Abril. Hours passed and the Doctor came out and called for us.
"What's the news?"
"Well we were able to stabilize her but she doesn't have much longer."
"What?.." I said.
Alexia was in tears and I hugged her. I looked at the doctor and asked, "Can I see her?"
"Yes, a nurse will walk you in."
An nurse took us to room number 327 and opened the door and we found Abril lying on the hospital bed with wires and tubes trailing here and there.
As we sat down next to the bed Abril's eyes fluttered open faint said, "Hi."
"How are you feeling?" Alexia asked softly.
Abril laughed lightly, "I am feeling what I look."
She turned to me and said, "Sorry for letting this happen."
"No no," I said taking her hand, "It's my fault in someway or another."
"It isn't. I remembered something from the past that you didn't know. Something Alexia doesn't remember doing."
"What is it?"
"A part of Alexia resides within me. A long time ago she put a small fraction of her soul in me to ensure she survived. That is why this vessel is rejecting your bond because She is back with you. I want to you listen whatever happens. You must wait here until it's done okay."
"Okay but what are we waiting for??" Alexia asked, and at that moment Abril began to go limp. The heart rate monitor started beeping until it flatlined. She was dead by a love that can kill.
